“This place is so underrated. I don't get it, the parking lot is practically empty all the time but this place is legit the best restaurant in the area. The food is always unique, the draft beer selection is second to none in this town (have to go to Lancaster city or Harrisburg to compete with this). Music selection is good, servers are chill... I don't get why this place isn't packed. If u pass thru Etown u need to go to the Black Gryphon.“

“My wife and I had a great meal here about a month ago. Food was good and the waitstaff were friendly. It was busy that night but we were still please with our food. Looking forward to our next trip out. Didn't have a beer because it was back to school night, but next time we'll try something.“

“Be careful if going here. It looks like they are having real issues with trouble makers, which can happen with any tavern along the river. About 10 days ago they confronted a person outside who refused to pay. That guy pulled a gun on the employee and threatened to shoot them in the head. Look online, you'll see the news story. We went there with another couple anyway for supper aware of the situation that possibly the management wasn't able to keep the trouble out of the place. Within minutes Courtney had our drinks at the table and placed our food orders ... and then some white trash at the bar left out a super loud screech or whistle looking for attention. It was bad. Then he did it again a few minutes later and left. One more time and I'd have gotten involved. The owner needs to hire some beefy enforcement right now to keep a handle on this or the place is going to get a reputation like the Bainbridge Inn as a good place to raise hell and start a fight. NOT date night atmosphere.“

“My neighbor took me here, it's my first time eating here. We had the potato skins with seafood, & I had the mini salad, crabcake & fries. There were so many items on the menu, I couldn't decide, especially after viewing the photos on Facebook. Our waitress was VERY busy, it took a little while for service, but worth the wait! “The food is meh, nothing to write home about. Definitely simple fried foods with a few other options added. They were under construction when we went so I can't say the atmosphere was great or horrible. The service, I had 2 experiences. The first experience was great our server was friendly and came to the table at the most opportune moments so she was never interrupting us or asking how things were when our mouths were full. She did have a few foul balls thrown at her that I saw, one group of people kept adding more tables to theirs so she went from having 4 people at the table (when we walked in) to having 10 people at the table when we left. Then she had another group of 5 that had been set in someone else's section moved into her section. I believe this might have rightfully annoyed another server because I saw the other server give her some attitude. But she handled everything with a smile on her face and complete grace. The second time we went in the server gave off vibes that we were just a bother, she disappeared at the end when we wanted to pay (she disappeared into the kitchen and I know because we were sat right next to the door for the kitchen). They are the second cheapest restaurant at the lodge and I hope when the construction is done they will get things settled and it will be better.“
