Literally the worst ER I have ever been to! The nurse had an attitude because I didn’t respond the first time she called out my name (was trying to process she called my name out because I was sitting for 3 hours) and I seen people groaning in pain, aimlessly walking around. Very uncomfortable place to be, I left without being seen
Waited 3 hours to be seen and about 7 hours total for the CT scans and a stitch. Nurse named Emma was rude and short with us. Didn’t seem like she had but a second to talk and answer questions. Ppl seemed to be waiting forever. Welcome to healthcare in America. Not surprised.
This Emergency Room staff did a great job for my dad. They were well prepared and hurried to take him back since he was experiencing stroke symptoms with a full team ready. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Turned out he wasn't having a stroke (so thankful) but he was having Bells Palsey from Lyme Disease. With how professional and fast the staff was at handling that possible stroke, I know this is the best hospital in the area for an emergency like that.
Getting all this money from people's insurance and can't even fix/replace the floor boards in the rooms! Where is all the money going towards? Smh
Came in with my mom as she was having shortness of breath and high blood pressure. The intern doctor was not listening to our concerns at all and kept telling her that these are symptoms that can happen as people age and repeatedly referred her to her PCP. We kept repeating that this is not normal, it happened quickly and we were concerned. He kept talking in circles. The overseeing doctor came in and, while having better bedside manner, also was not listening that we were concerned this was an abrupt change and not something that happened gradually over time. We were asking for more care and the intern said that if he admitted her based on her labs he'd "get in trouble." Way to listen and care for your patients!
I've been here since 1 pm. It's currently 6:30. Still in the waiting room for a possible burst appendix along with a fever. I'm going to post this and assume I will get a "canned" response. Please read through other 1 star reviews. Sort by "newest". There's like 100 people here all in the same boat. My wife had our baby at Maggie women's center and it was wonderful. This? Not so much.
Sat in emergency room for over 5 hours. This is the worst emergency room I have been to.
I will not be coming to Hamot ER again. I waited 6 1/2 hours and was not seen. I get it people are seen by priority. The staff is not helpful when asked approximately how long the worker said it should not be that much longer, and I still sat for 2 hours. Asked again and was told I was next and still sat an hour. Some of the staff were rude. I have been to an ER before where they have someone coming around asking if you are ok and if you need anything. They also let you know where you are in line keeping in mind that someone coming in after maybe a higher priority. I think Hamot could do a lot better. And parking sucks!
I tried going here two days in a row. Stayed for over half a day to never receive help. If you have no insurance they won't help you.
They think someone with a scrape on their knee is more serious than someone that’s having heart issues and mother one that’s pregnant and having problems. Get it together hamot

I went in with screaming pain..they were fast and accurate and helped me to understand how to take my meds to curb the pain..very thorough
in their help and explanations seemed thoughtful and straightforward. everyone was kind, and though they cannot heal whats wrong with my back and ribs they did help me. July 23, 2024
Partner and I had to go for a minor emergency and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Wait was short and the nurses were incredible, especially Ms Deja. Dunno why everyone else is rating the place so poorly, definitely recommend.
This is the worst emergency room I have ever been to. The nurses act like they don’t care and are just lounging around. They are not trying to get people in and out and that’s what’s taking so long. I came in with a broken tooth because they said that they will help. I sat there for a hour before they even took my vitals. Then I was told I would have to wait another 4 hours to be seen. I watch a pregnant lady cry and bleed and when they g were upset that they had to tend to her. I actually heard the nurse say she’s getting on her nerves while I was getting my vitals taking. The emergency room needs to be inspected and the workers need to be informed on there actions and what they walk saying about people and how they also treat them. I will never come to this emergency room ever again. It’s a a shame that people come here to be helped and basically left in a lobby for hours with no type of interaction or treatment.
My friend went to this ER few days ago, I was pleased of how well the staff members and ER staff treated her with respect and professionalism, updating her. Thank ER nurse Chris, she was prompt, very good at triaging, asked her the right questions and nurse assistant took her vital signs.I sincerely wanted to thank Dr. Kocjancic and ER nurse for coming to check on my friend to make sure she was ok and let us know of updates promptly. It was busy night for sure. Also, I Wanted to thank Nurse practitioner for thorough assessment, asked the right questions to narrow down, addressed concern appropriately. and she ordered the right medication for her to help her get better and ER doctor for checking on her and monitored her vital signs. She was better afterwards. Wait time in waiting area can be long sometimes… housekeeper kept the waiting room clean.
This place was an absolute nightmare. I had to take my husband at 8am on a Saturday and it was horrific. The room he was in had sticky floors with noticeable drops of some kind of dried brown fluid all over it. There was no trash can in the room, no tissues and no remote for a TV or call button for a nurse if we were to need one. There was urine all over the bathroom floor and toilet seat and no paper towels either. IN A MEDICAL FACILITY. The staff seemed disinterested in actually helping and the doctors on call seemed VERY disengaged. After getting blood work done that was completely unnecessary and waiting almost 5 hours in the same disgusting room, he was told they would have to transfer him to Saint Vincent because Hamot did not offer the services he needed. It was a terrible waste of time and he didn’t even receive help. If you have the option, go LITERALLY anywhere else.
