This is a brewery I had been wanting to try on previous trips to the Erie area, but it just hadn't worked out. But on a recent Sunday evening, my wife and I had the time and the chance, and it was a nice experience.

Located and connected to a car garage, you definitely get the laid-back, classic Americana vibe here, which suits the Erie area well. It's a decently small area inside, but the bartenders to do well to keep the orders moving while being friendly, and there are a number of standing tables outside. While there, I tried their ESB, since this isn't a style every brewery carries, and I enjoy the uniqueness over some of the more popular American brewing styles. It was a good take on the style, and the price was fair for it.

We were only there on a quick stop, or I would have liked to try more, as well as maybe nab some food from what appears to be a rotating food truck offering. That night, it was Cousins Maine Lobster (which was a bit ironic for us because we and the truck were both visiting from Pittsburgh), and business for the truck seemed to be doing very well. Overall, this brewery is quite nice, and adds another able hand to a smaller, but still strong Erie beer scene.

Not my first time drinking Erie Ale Works, but my first time visiting. If you like IPAs, Nexus, Cold Leftovers, Bongcloud Attack are all superb. Mario is thoughtful, generous, and knowledgeable at the bar. Jeff is a great and helpful (visit him on market days at Frontier Park). Food trucks are frequent. The venue is small, but clean and welcoming, with many thriving pothos and other small propagations. Check it out!

Always delicious and refreshing, highly recommend the classic Tattooed Lady blonde ale. This is the australian pilsner, Aussie Sauce. Don’t skip this great brewery!

The best brewery in town! The beer is always delicious, especially the Forbidden Froot! I love the chill, relaxed atmosphere. And everyone that works there is super nice and friendly. I look forward to my weekly Mug Club days 🍻

You won’t find another place like this in Erie. Great selection of craft beer. The owners make you feel at home and all of the bartenders are top notch. Did I mention the beer … excellent. Always something going on with the food trucks and benevolent Thursday. Give them a try.

Love this place! There is a beer here for all tastes. From the full bodied IPA, dark roasty stouts, to the house favorite “beer flavored beer” easy drinking ales/pilsners. Not a fancy place, but thats its appeal. Wide variety of food trucks when in season. Their bartenders are welcoming, attentive and professional. Check them out!

Love this brewery. Emily was an excellent bartender. I was visiting from out of town but she made me feel like a regular. Highly recommended visiting!

It’s everything you’d want your local neighborhood brewery to be.

Solid local craft beers and rotating food trucks are found here. I really enjoy the Cold Leftovers IPA as my go to beer. A must stop for beer lovers and right down the road from other great local craft breweries such as Lavery's and Voodoo.

My family and I visited Erie from Columbus, OH this week. Columbus has a really awesome craft beer scene. So, I was really looking forward to seeing what Erie has to offer.

Erie Ale Works did not disappoint! They had a tent set up downtown during Erie Cyclefest. I highly recommend you try "Nexus of the Universe." The staff is awesome, and I really like how they support community events like the cyclefest. I'm looking forward to stopping by the brewery next time we are in town.
