I came here as I had some time to kill (I had 25 minutes until a dinner order would be ready). If you like wine, this place has more wine than just about any store I've ever been to. Aisle after aisle. A lot of people work here but I didn't ask them about their expertise. Though one guy asked if I needed help, which I appreciate. They also sell some hard alcohol such as vodka but the majority of the store is wine. Some of the wine labels (on the shelving) list the points of each wine (on a scale of 100) which is a great way to find a good wine. They also have a summary to read. I found a high scoring wine and it turned out to be a winner. I quite enjoyed it, as did my dinner company. If you're looking to buy wine in Erie PA, especially if you want some recommendations, come here.

The salesman at this location is like a used car salesman. My friends and I went to the counter with a few items. He told us we should each get a couple cases of alcohol instead of a bottle. When we told him no, he told us he doesn't work on commission and we should buy cases of alcohol instead of just a bottle. This went on for over 20 minutes. No matter how much we tried to tell him NO, he kept telling us we had to buy more. My friend was getting super frustrated with him (since my friend suffers from PTSD as a veteran). We told this salesman that our friend would have an aneurysm if he continued to annoy us. The salesman responded by telling us he was friends with the top 2 funeral homes in Erie if our friend DIED in the store. It got so bad another employee of the store had to come over to tell him to back off of us but still he refused to listen. He kept telling us we needed to buy more alcohol and that he doesn't work on commission. The whole interaction took over 25 to 30 minutes when we went in the store knowing exactly what we wanted to buy and were at the counter, ready to check out within about 2 to 3 minutes. This salesman made it a nightmare for us to visit and we will certainly not be going back to this location anytime soon.

Ever since they remodeled it has been the best location in the area. Great selection - but, remember that it is a State store and there are some oddities that flow from that.
