Hunters in Tavern is one of those neighborhood locations with plenty of personality and darn good food, especially for the price. Their lake Erie perch dinners are far less expensive than anyone else in town and I highly recommend them.
This bar is likely the only bar in Erie that has decent prices(especially when it comes to liquor). During the day, the clientele consists of 3rd shift and other working class individuals. Far later in the day, everyone in their 20s comes out, and the atmosphere changes dramatically. Hunters is a bar to try for yourself. The owner is phenomenal and there are excellent bartenders.
The food is excellent. Real ham for subd instead of deli ham, for instance. And the prices are from the 80's or something. I recommend eating here if you want good food and inexpensive prices.
