So I’ve ordered from here twice, and there’s no doubt that the food was delicious! Although, the rice and beans could definitely have more flavor. But, the customer service, awful! I placed this by door dash, and one of my items was missing. That being said, I called as I normally would to let them know. I was on the phone for over twenty minutes. The woman who answered was telling me I didn’t order and she has no order. I asked her to read my name back because it’s not easy! She said she couldn’t do that and that I didn’t order and asked if I wanted to order again. I kept explaining to her, so I then asked to speak to someone else SEVERAL times and she kept telling me “no.” She was talking to someone else then would come back saying “you didn’t order.” I continuously asked to speak to the manager or someone else and again she would say “no.” I had to be extremely rude to even speak to someone else. Even when I spoke to someone else, he found my order in a matter of seconds, but wasn’t wanting to make it right. I just asked that he take my name down or reimburse me for the items. Even still I’m not convinced they wrote my name down.

The food is pretty good! We called to place the order, but I think the lady did not fully understand me so it was kind of mixed up when we got there! But they were nice enough to redo the order the right way. I would recommend placing an order online or going there in person.

Quite a nice surprise. A hidden one at that. The restaurant is actually inside a gas station minimart. Food is excellent, really tasty. It's a take out establiment. So call ahead.

For a corner gas station I can guarantee that you won't find any better in the city ANYWHERE!!! The food never disappoints seriously. I always get the quesobarria with the rice and beans.. it's soo delicious I won't ever order from anywhere else.

man o man! I live right around the corner and this was my first time eating here and I can't say enough good things! I ordered online and picked up and it was hot and fresh when I got there, ordered was correct and it was huge portions!!! definitely one of my top Mexican places to eat! will def be ordering again and will recommend!!! I got the pick 2 combo (taco and burrito) and the meal came with homemade salsa and chips for free....all this for 10$!!!!

Tacos Mexicanos were delicious! Tender steak and tasty consume'. Regular chicken tacos...not so much. Tiny, dry pieces of chicken, no seasoning. Stick with other items

I don't do a whole lot of yelping but I felt compelled to say this place has the best tacos that I've had in Erie. Im a chef and I moved here from California a couple weeks ago. I've worked in Mexican restaurants and I eat a LOT of Mexican food, so tacos are one of my areas of expertise. I come from a large Latino family and I've lived all over the SF Bay Area and Los Angeles. Moving here, finding good Mexican food was an area of concern for me. I didn't have a whole lot of optimism in that regard. But let me tell you, these tacos put all that worry aside. As good as anything you'd find in a truck in LA or the South Bay Area. The meat was well seasoned, the salsa was spicy and delicious. Also, the rice and beans were great. My only criticism would be that they didn't toast the corn tortillas enough which caused them to disintegrate from the juice of the meat. Also, they use mozzarella cheese which is not my cup of tea on tacos. I'm a Jack cheese or casero/cotija guy. Still delicious, would definitely recommend. Will definitely be back.

YES, it's real. YES, it's in a gas station. YES, you should walk in and order the Birria Tacos immediately! Don't let the sketch location and corner kitchen of a gas station shop fool you. These guys make a mean, authentic mexican dish. We were sold when we saw the line of people waiting for their orders. GrubHub & DoorDash kinda ruin the experience by eating up your wait time but it's worth the wait. Wifey ordered the carnita street tacos, my daughter ordered bistec street tacos, and I ordered the birria... all completely satisfied! Prepare to take your order to the beach as there is no place to eat them unless you want to sit in front of a gas pump. Make sure to be patrons of the gas station too so that they keep this gem of a kitchen around. 10 stars!

Delicious. Do not let the location dissuade you. I had empanada meal and wife had a burrito,Ample portions. Leftovers for tomorrow, well worth the price.

Worst Mexican experience I've had. Fajitas were 95% onions and peppers and 5% steak. Forgot my tortillas, rice, and beans. Luckily door dash refunded us..

My family are on a road trip from California to Boston. We looked up mexican food restaurante on google and Tacos El Chon popped up. We decided to give them a try. We did not have high expectations since we are so far from the mexican border. After tasting our food we where pleasantly surprised. Everything was good!

Seriously tasty empanadas, the Al pastor tacos actually have pineapple in them too. This is my go to for Mexican food in Erie!!

This is a rave review because of the food...and I'll get to the food in a minute. But first you have to be prepared for some external stuff that may be generously described as "eccentric" and not so generously as sketchy or, even, scary. This place is in a corner of a convenience store/gas station called "Way 2 Go." I didn't see any sign for the tacos outside. I don't know how you'd know it was there. The place is an urban convenience store with a variety of colorful characters coming and going. There are no tables or chairs. Everything is to go. I'd recommend calling ahead. Food comes in a styrofoam box. I got the Mexican burrito with chorizo. Ordinary nacho chips, ordinary salsa, shredded lettuce/onion salad and sour cream and then, the burrito. OMG, the burrito. Rich, flavorful, greasy goodness in a tender, grilled flour tortilla. The flavors come at you in waves. I intended to eat only half (because it was largish) but couldn't stop myself. I cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu. I won't weigh in on whether or not this is "authentic" Mexican. But it is extraordinarily good street food. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try.

Takeout only. Don't let the size of the place scare you. ~15-20 min wait after ordering for me, so call in an order or take a walk while you wait. Good volume of food, great price, fantastic flavor. Any time I get by that side of town, I'll be stopping in. Worth it in every way.
