Our first visit. Very small place with limited seating, tight tables. Best thing was the service was excellent and friendly. Food was good portions, home style cooking. Had the shepherds pie. Wish they would have stated the beef in it was not ground beef but chunks (possibly steak?) I wasn't a fan but my husband liked it. We will definitely return to try other dishes.
The seafood alfredo seemed good. Very rich but still a good flavor. My wife got the fried seafood dinner and she said it was "decent but nothing special". I got the blackened prime rib because that's the special on Saturday Nights. Now I wanted medium rare and it was a medium rare cook but the prime rib roast was not great quality or was held over from the night before. Many years ago I lived in the apartment that is over top the Pittsburgh Inn. I ate at the restaurant often. My mother and step-father even worked there. I recently had the opportunity to go there while visiting as part of a road trip. I wanted the spaghetti and meatballs as I remembered it to be oh so good way back in the day. It did NOT disappoint. It is still every bit as awesome as I remembered it.
