The Cove Bay-Side Restaurant & Tavern

I was visiting the area and stopped by, but unfortunately had a negative experience. The bartender who took my drink order was unwelcoming and came across as rude. It made me uncomfortable enough to leave shortly after arriving. While the location itself is great, I strongly suggest training staff on the importance of hospitality and customer service. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The restaurant we wanted to go to was closed so we settled for the Cove. Maybe if we sat inside service would have been a bit more attentive, but who knows. The food was fine, nothing really to exclaim about. The atmosphere both in and out were good, for a waterfront themed restaurant, located by the water.

Severely understaffed and the food looks and tastes like it was taken out of a freezer and heated up. We were very close to getting up mid-meal and leaving.

All around 5 stars for the Cove! Absolutely loving their rebrand and new menu. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was perfect. Make sure to try the burnt ends! We will be back!

Was in the area for a work meeting and this was a great place to walk to and get some lunch. I was met at the door and quickly shown a seat. The staff was very friendly and helpful with making suggestions when asked.

The food came fast and was very good.

The restaurant was nicely decorated with a nautical theme, very fitting.

First time visit on a gloomy Saturday for a later lunch. The restaurant was clean and comfortable with a nice view. The menu is a nice selection but not over the top.
Ordered onion rings for starters, and they were great! I personally like thinner onion rings without tons of batter, so they were perfect. Our lunches were a smash burger, Cuban, and Cajun fish sandwich all with sides of fries. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the fries are top notch in my opinion.
We will not hesitate to go back again.

Anxious to try The Cove when I read they opened with a new menu and featured lobster bisque, rolls, and Mac and Cheese. Won’t say we were disappointed but not impressed either. Our server April was awesome - very pleasant and offered menu suggestions. Very disappointed with wine selection - if you’re going to offer a $28 lobster entree you can do better than Sutter Home as your only Chardonnay. Pasta in Mac and Cheese was beyond overcooked. Hope these are just early April growing pains! Will give it another go in a month or so.

The atmosphere at the Cove is fantastic with large windows overlooking the bay. We ordered a variety of appetizers including a huge soft pretzels, chicken nachos, and brisket burnt ends. The burnt ends were served with a pickle slaw and tasted delicious. Our entrees included a pulled pork sandwich, Cobb salad, and lobster mac n cheese. The lobster mac n cheese had a huge lobster claw on top and was buttery delicious. The waitress was warm and friendly. We enjoyed our food, the service and the atmosphere and will definitely return.

Food was blah. Service was blah. Not a great first impression for an out of towner.

Great server. Had shrimp tacos and were fantastic with sweet potatoes fries with this fantastic marshmallow dip for the fries. So GOOD. Great view of Lake and Light house
