It is very easy to see why 1833 has and continues to maintain a perfect five-star rating. As a small business owner who prides myself on my ratings as well, This is the very first thing that caught my attention and attracted me to drive all the way out here from Monroeville! I'm so happy I did. 1833 Coffee is a gem! From the moment you step inside, you can feel the warmth and care they put into everything, from their ambiance to their service. The coffee is exceptional—crafted with precision and served with genuine friendliness.

Their menu is thoughtful, offering a variety of unique options that cater to both coffee purists and those who enjoy creative specialty drinks. I particularly loved how smooth and flavorful their espresso was—it’s clear they take pride in sourcing high-quality beans. My favorite we the eggnog chai. The owner was so friendly and even shared her secret ingredient with me!

The atmosphere is cozy yet modern, making it a great spot to relax, catch up with friends, or even get some work done. You can tell they’ve thought about every detail to make customers feel welcome.

If you’re in Pittsburgh and looking for a local coffee shop that stands out and is absolutely worth the drive, 1833 Coffee is definitely worth a visit. They’ve created something truly special, and I can’t wait to come back! I regret not buying thier beans but it just means I have to go back again soon!

Love, love, love 1833 Coffee & Tea! Delicious coffees & great service. My favorite part of going there is the wonderful sense of community; is an inclusive & community-minded small local business.

Dietary restrictions: They will carefully try to make their drink offerings vegan for me.

Love this coffee shop so much. Good coffee, yummy pastries, cool local vendors selling adorable earrings, hats, plants, etc. Feels like home in the seating area with tables, benches and pillows. My favorite local place to work, read, meet friends and relax. Great job ladies of 1833!

I've been here quite a few times and this is a cute little shop with a very relaxing vibe to it. Everything has always been fast, fresh and delicious. That's not what is making me leave a review though. Currently those of Freeport are lined along the streets for the extremely unfortunate procession of Chief Corey. What is the owner of this coffee shop doing you may wonder?? She is going around checking on everyone and making sure everyone is good and has water on this hot sunny day. Going above and beyond for your community is far greater than having your coffee cold/warm. I recommend this coffee shop to anyone and everyone!

The food is absolutely delicious, the coffee is also very delicious. The girls are absolutely amazing, and so friendly. I absolutely love going there for coffee. If you haven't been to either one of their shops, you really need to go.

Wheelchair accessibility: Their shop in Freeport, is set up to where you can open the door and looks like you can roll a wheelchair right in with no problem. There's no steps you have to worry about which is nice, and most of the time you can get someone to hold the door for you, should you need help with a wheelchair. The girls go out of their way to help their customers. They are truly awesome people.
