Farnsworth has a great ghosty vibe with rich history. However this last stay makes me want to make an honest review. We have stayed there in the past with no issues. We left a day early this time around. Stayed in the Sarah Black room and it smelled like sewer. Tried to fill the traps with water which didn't help. The sewer smell filled the room. Running the exhaust fan and opening the window and closing the bathroom door helped a little. There was also a 10 second burst of hot water, after that no hot or even luke warm water for a shower. With the smell and no hot water and a tough night on a bad mattress we had to abandon ship early which is disheartening due to the cost of this room. Hot/warm water and not smelling like a septic tank are a must. 10/10 would not go back
this was the coolest little inn with the best food we enjoyed every minute The staff was the most friendly and helpful people will definitely be back
Great place located right in the heart of Gettysburg. We sat outside at a cast iron table. We both had drinks which were very good. For food, we both had pulled pork sandwiches. They were served on cool metal plates the pulled pork was good and so were the fries. I stop here every time I'm in Gettysburg!
COld beer
Very sad and sorry decor inside, unhappy service, bad beer.
I would rate this lower if it wasn't for the outside bartender. She's a Rockstar. The inside staff was incredibly rude and acted like they didn't want to help us at all and shoved us to the outside. The food was great but the flatbreads are awful. The burgers are delicious and so was the fish and chips.
Perfectly tucked away off the street with comfy vibes and an excellent staff! 10/10 would recommend 👌

We called before we left the hotel to see the wait times for 5 people. They do not do call ahead seating. The host said we should be fine to come in around 4. We showed up and put our name on the list to wait 45 minutes. After 30 minutes, they called us and said the kitchen was overwhelmed and they could not seat us. So we essentially wasted 30 to 35 minutes when i could have gone somewhere else. Shame shame shame.
Made a reservation for 6 p.m. on Halloween in the fine dining room but got there and told private party has the dining room. Shuffled to the pub for a much lesser experience ... no comps, free appetizer or drink ... nothing but we could order from the more expensive menu in the cheaper pub atmosphere. Very disappointed. Peanut soup cold, drinks way overpriced. This is the tourist trap from hell and not in a good way. Do not care about customers. Do better Farnsworth Inn when you are at fault. Thanks for ruining our evening. Called manager next day and she obviously could care less.
Awesome place to eat! The cast of Gettysburg went to this tavern all the time they were filming the movie. Lots of movie memorabilia on display to see. The movie also plays while you are in here. Food is great!! Prices are very reasonable. The staff is awesome too!!! It's a great place for a group or just a couple. Try it! You won't be disappointed.😊
