“Went with my mom. We were seated right away by a friendly hostess. Our waitress was amazing. As it was our first time there, she explained everything with patience and a friendly smile. The food was too good. I overstuffed myself because I didn't want to stop eating. But we still wanted dessert. We were told that the flavors of the cheesecake depend on what mood the chef is in. There would also be a dessert available that wasn't on the menu, again, changing depending on the chef's mood.Atmosphere, food, staff, all made for a wonderful time that I would love to repeat.Without a doubt, this is one of Gettysburg's best spots.”
“My husband and I travel from Chambersburg just to enjoy a terrific meal here several times a year. Whether it's the seared tuna, thick center-cut pork chops, authentic gyro or a burger, we have never been disappointed and always leave with a full and satisfied tummy ? They truly know how to make a hearty and very delicious soup or bisque... it's like a meal in-of-itself. They have awesome desserts, and their hummus is hands down the best I've ever had anywhere...my husband agrees, and usually, he hates the stuff ?”
“To celebrate St. Patrick's day my wife and I did a double-date with our friends and went to Garryowen Irish Pub. It was everything we hoped it would be. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was electric and exciting. At one point a man in a kilt entered the restaurant and played a song on a bagpipe and everyone cheered. The scotch egg was fantastic. The shepherd's pie was some of the best I've ever had. Even the desserts were incredible. I would definitely recommend this place for a glimpse of Ireland, good food, and a fun date-night.Parking: We parked a block or so away and walked. It was a nice evening so we didn't mind, but it seemed like there was only street parking available.Kid-friendliness: We got carded (at almost 40 years old!) and had to get a hand stamp to enter. Probably leave the kids home for this one. :P”
“I went in here on a whim and ended up with a fresh jam-packed acai bowl. Nice selection of toppings and easy to read and order menu. Very efficient and patient customer seevice.”
“Great neighborhood bar, $.80 wings on Tuesdays! Everything is priced cheap in comparison to most places. If smoke smell bothers you then stay out. I grew up in places like this so the nostalgia factor was. 10/10!”
“Great food, friendly staff.I had called earlier with a question and he was so helpful. When I ordered my food, it came hot and was so good. He was so cheerful. Recommend to anyone?”
“Amazing service. Staff was very professional and caring. Food and drinks were delicious and very reasonably priced. This is a must visit establishment. Such a great ambiance. Will be coming back again!”
“The best place to eat in Franklin and Adams county pa..even took our huge family to eat there for Thanksgiving 20.people and it was up $300..and it is all home cooked buffet..great place”
“We were lucky to stumble on this place on a Friday night. Great pizzas! We had the brisket pizza which was really good, and the calamari is on point. The back area has FREE GAMES, pool, shuffleboard, skeeball, hoops, and air hockey. After dinner we hung out and played games drinking the delicious local beers. Highly recommend!”
“So, we were there yesterday, Sunday, in the mid afternoon, and they were just closing up. But, we managed to have a variety of foods (there were about 10 of us): crab Mac and cheese, seafood chowder, hot dogs, turkey sandwich, caramel cake, and a few other things. OMG, the soup was incredibly delicious as was the Mac and cheese. The hotdogs were all beef and plump inside a toasted bun. The staff was great to us and withstood our chaos as we were all talking and ordering at the same time!! Seriously, we are from all over: DC, Seattle, Arizona, and we've been around the block. We thought this was great.”
“Dinner was great, we had planned to originally go somewhere else but stumbled upon it walking downtown. We were greeted by the wonderful staff and were seated promptly. They have plenty of great Italian cuisine to choose from. I would whole heartedly recommend the Delmonico steak or the ceaser salad, both items were excellent. Our experience was great from start to finish my only complaint being that the restaurant was probably 75 degrees and I felt like I was sweating the entire time but it hardly stopped us from having a good time. We will be back in the future!”
“I ordered wonton soup and sweet and sour chicken at the counter. Less than 10 minutes later my order was ready. The wonton noodles were al dente. The broth was homemade and flavorful. The chicken was moist. The coating on the chicken had a mild crunch. Perfectly cooked. The sweet and sour sauce was light and mild. It tasted authentic. A light orange color as apposed to the fake red, sugary candy like sweet and sour sauce I have gotten at other places. Good portions. I think their were 10 noodles in the wonton soup. There is plenty of seating and the guy working the counter was polite and professional. I'm glad I tried this place. Definitely won my loyalty as a Gettysburg resident. I look forward to exploring the menu.”
“We enjoyed the food and the new decor but felt like it needed to be a little more special to be in keeping with FPI. We'd like to see better quality coffee and breakfast pastries.”
“There are many reasons to visit BBW. The venue is unique and historic. If you are a music lover, they have many opportunities to come listen. The acoustics are outstanding. The food is solid pub grub. The burgers are made with locally sourced beef and were so tasty my husband didn't even use mayonnaise. They have both wet and dry wings. The Japanese BBQ and Caribbean jerk are my new favorites. Jim and friends tried several beers and really enjoyed them. The non-alcoholic one was great! I tried a few different cocktails. The chocolate martini was dessert in a glass.”
“Me and my girls pick a new restaurant every Tuesday night and this one was recommended to us by one of our clients and it did not disappoint! I love that they only serve PA liquors & wines! We arrived a little after 4pm without reservations and we were seated right away. The bartender seemed a bit flustered but eventually warmed up. I ordered the french onion soup (delicious), steak (perfectly cooked medium) and the bread and garlic mashed potatoes it came with were glorious! Prices were very reasonable. My experience was great, our server was friendly and accommodating. I would definitely return for another fabulous dinner!”
“The food is excellent. The sauces are great. The portions vs price wasn’t so great. The picture of the brisket was $18 for 6 slices. The ribs were $16 for 4 pieces. The pizza is a personal size and it was $19. The plates do not come with any sides for these prices. This small bowl of Mac n cheese was $7. They do have an EXTENSIVE list of alcohol they offer (but we aren’t drinkers). Overall, wonderful food. Just not enough. The parking wasn’t the best (but I do understand the location).”
“It was okay. It was late in the evening (around 7:45-8) and I’m sure the staff is tired and underpaid. A part of my order incorrect but it was corrected very quickly. My soup was lukewarm at best but my son’s soup was hot. Salad and sandwich was pretty good. I came back the next morning for coffee and it was good.”
“We had dinner at the Dobbin House and everything was phenomenal. Our waitress was excellent and so was the food. We look forward to going back the next time we are in town.”
