“Delicious coffee, extensive coffee & tea menu, wonderful pastry and breakfast sandwich selection, clean & charming atmosphere, charming & efficient staff, and great location with easy access parking.”
“This is a real family, Italian style restaurant. The food was incredible, fresh cut fries were the best I've ever eaten. Homemade bread, meatballs, etc. Do yourself a favor, and stop by this place!”
“I ordered a carry out order. When I arrived to pick up, the restaurant was clean and well organized. Staff was friendly and courteous. I ordered the Special House Fajitas (shrimp, chicken, steak and sausage), and my wife had the Tacos De Pollo Asada (chicken tacos). Food was delicious and flavorful. We'll definitely order again. Thanks Sanders team!”
“We ordered subs last evening from here. I was pleasantly surprised when I unwrapped my sub. Plenty of the toppings, meat and cheese. All very fresh, the wheat bun was excellent and fresh. Overall awesome sub!Jersey Mike's was my favorite subs, until last evening. Goodcents is now my favorite and JM's isn't even a close second.A must try for sub lovers! Will not disappoint!”
“Awesome pizza. Our go-to. If you are looking for soggy, thick, non-NY pizza with a gallon of sauce on it, this isn't for you. If you like good, thin, crisp ,NY pizza, this is the place.”
“Where else in Fairfield can you get this caliber of Za and good hang out atmosphere? I'll tell you. Nowhere close. Our family loves this place and the service is always great. I only wish they might deliver in the future.Parking: Parking is behind the building.”
“I went here for a late breakfast with my friend. We both got the Philadelphia Cheesesteak, with fries, waters, I got a Pepsi and he had a hot chocolate. The cheesesteak here is one of the best I've ever had, outside of Philly. The meat was fully cooked but not dry, the bread was perfectly toasted and didn't cut my mouth up, and the cheese was melted through the whole sandwich. It also comes with sautéed onions and peppers, I had mine without onions and light on the peppers. They came with lettuce, sliced tomato and pickle slices on the side. The fries were hot and salty, size was between McDonald's and BK fries. The portion looked like at least a big potato's worth of fries, it was a sizeable pile. They came with cups of ketchup and some white sauce (I think a horseradish sauce, I didn't try it).My friend said the hot chocolate was very hot, but good. My Pepsi was, well, a Pepsi. Our waiter was very professional, he told us about a fish taco special and checked on us a couple times during our meal. The only reason I gave the atmosphere 4/5 stars is because they're in the middle of renovations, but it looks really good on the inside/open section despite the construction.”
“I can't remember the last time that I have been to Liberty and that's because it's been years! I am not an "avid" skier, but I do enjoy hitting the slopes and every time I go, I ask...why don't I do this more often? This year I had the opportunity to plan a ski weekend for 2 and one of the main criteria was that the resort needed to be a reasonable driving distance from DC (meaning, no more than 2 hours:). Liberty fit the bill and after reviewing the site, I decided to book and have absolutely no regrets. My decision was also aided by the fact that I purchased an Epic pass and Liberty Resort is now part of the Vail Resorts family and my Epic pass could be used at Liberty. Read my Epic Pass review here. I booked a room in the Alpine Lodge with 2 double beds. Located on the 2nd floor, the room was very tidy and extremely clean! The linens were fresh and the bathroom was extremely clean. They provided the necessary toiletries including some luxurious hand lotion (available for purchase if you like it). Our room was also equipped with a mini fridge and a coffee maker. I wish the room would have been stocked with tea as well, but we had to go to the main lodge and get that. We had a private balcony with a side view of the main lodge. I'm sure this would be nice to enjoy when weather permits. The Alpine Lodge is conveniently located in between the main lodge and the slopes. You can access the main eateries and lessons counter from the lodge without having to exit. The main restaurant, The Eagle & the Owl, located inside the main lodge (where you will also check-in), was just a stones throw from our room and where we ate all of our meals. We experienced some of the best service there even if the choices were a bit limited. Dinner and lunch were good, but breakfast was buffet and definitely lacking Our breakfast options were pancakes (Saturday only), eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage and some bagels and pastries. The Sunday breakfast buffet definitely went downhill and the options were just an oversized quiche made of powdered eggs, potatoes, bacon and some quick breads. There was no a la carte breakfast option. I will say that the service from the wait staff and everyone in the restaurant was always top notch! Other eating options were limited and really on-the-go fast food and snack types. I will say that we didn't have a chance to sample McKee's Tavern because it closed before were were off the mountain...next time. There is an indoor pool in the basement of the main lodge. We took a peak just to confirm that it is there and there's a hot tub in the pool as well. We decided to go ahead and hit the Bubly tubing on our first night and it didn't disappoint. Would you believe that this was my first time tubing...ever? I can hardly believe it and think that I may. have blocked it from my memory. Anyhow, the tubing was fun and fast and it was super cold. We took a shuttle from the Alpine lodge to the tubing station for an 8pm session. While we did buy our tickets in advance, it didn't really seem necessary once we were there and it wasn't crowded. I do like that they have a separate rest area for the tubers to relax, eat and recharge. There is food and snacks for purchase (pizza, chips, candy, soda, hot chocolate). The staff at the tubing station (indoor/outdoor) was just as welcoming and helpful as the staff at the lodge and throughout the resort. As far as skiing goes...it was as good as can be expected. Mother Nature wasn't really feeling it again this season and didn't bless us with the cold or snow that we would have liked for a January trip, but we made the most of it. Most of the trails were available as well as the tubing. We took a group lesson which is always a nice refresher. It started out very chaotic with everyone showing up for their respective lessons and the staff was trying to segment folks based on their self-assessments of their ski levels. I was moved around a little and an instructor was nice enough to let me join his group. We were a”
“10 Stars! The customer service here is 2nd to none. Genuinely the nicest staff and servers I have ever experienced in my life! Whatever they are doing here, KEEP IT UP!”
“Food was excellent. Service was good. And atmosphere is clean. Everything was as well as could be. My only issue (and not a big one) is that I hate having to chase someone down for a refill on a drink.”
“I’m from Orlando, so when visiting here, I just HAD to try the butterbeer and it was amazing! Great service and such a friendly environment. 11/10 recommended for anyone passing through Gettysburg!”
“We come to Gettysburg twice a year and always try to stay somewhere new every time. We are so pleased with our stay at Cashtown inn that we will start staying there at least once for our annual visits. I can't say enough about how accommodating the owners and staff were and very knowledgeable of the history of the area and ready to share with you all they know. Of course there is a bit of haunted stories of the building and area, so no matter whether you're coming for the haunts or coming to relax, this is the best place to stay. By far.”
“First time in Gettysburg so asked the concierge in my hotel if he could recommend a restaurant with my caveat being if you only have one night in town - and you’re a foodie with a chef husband - where is THE do not miss place. And he didn’t even have to think about it. Hands down Sign of the Buck is where I should go. But he said reservations are a must so I jumped onto Resy and booked a spot for 7pm. I am SO glad I took his advice because not only was this place incredible for Gettysburg but it is one of the most memorable meals I have had in Pennsylvania…period. Charming decor, very elegant and cozy. Hostess was warm and welcoming. My server was an adorable young lady and took great care of me throughout the evening. When it comes to cocktails - the options are extensive. They ALL look so tempting. But they smoked House Old Fashioned was the winner and it was incredible. Not too smokey which suits my taste so I was a happy camper. Starters were a tough choice too - had a tough time deciding but I finally chose the roasted Brussels Sprouts which sounded incredible from the description and they were phenomenal. So often they are either undercooked and hard or over cooked and mushy. They hit it out of the park. Crispy. Tender. Perfectly cooked and flavored with a cheese - I forget the name - and balsamic reduction they were just awesome. For my entree that was a no brainer. Venison of course! I mean this place is called Sign of the Buck so I figured the venison had to be their specialty. And that was for sure the right decision because it was the most beautiful presentation and the meat was cooked to perfection - medium rare as I requested. The accompaniments didn’t look like much at first glance. Pretty but when I tried them the squash and potatoes were superb and paired beautifully with the meat. As I devoured my meal I noticed more and more people arriving - clearly the word is out that this place is where it’s at in Gettysburg. Though I was stuffed and could have skipped dessert - my waitress brought me the menu and I just figured what the hell - I’ve come this far. Let’s go all the way. Baba with Calvados and maple cream!? Yes please. I am bummed I live 4+ hours away from here or I wouldn’t hesitate to make this place my staple for date night. Can’t wait until I return to this beautiful town again and will be sure to book a reservation before I come. Pretty sure these will be tougher to come by once word gets around about this jewel of Gettysburg! Cheers to Chef and team for a memorable evening.”
“Gluten and soy-free diner here. Thank you once again to your employees who let me know that your homemade ice cream may contain soybeans. Therefore, my Siberian Husky, Juneau Elizabeth, and I each had a cup of your vanilla soft serve, and it was delicious! See for yourself.... We will head back later today for round #2!!Dietary restrictions: Soy-free, soft serve ice cream.”
“Had dinner here for a family members birthday. Friendly service and a colonial feel make this an enjoyable stop with the family. Surprisingly high prices and good, but not great, food keep it in the rare visit category.Food & drinks: Food was good, but not worth the price. Stopping for the atmosphere is worth at least one visit.”
“Food was...almost right. Everything was good, but not quite what it should have been. Not sure what was missing, but to could have been truly awesome. There was an individual pizza that needed a touch of sharpness to make it really sparkle, for example. A drizzle of a balsamic reduction maybe?Still, definitely a cut above the average, and worth considering if you are in Gettysburg for a meal”
“So we did a late lunch early dinner stop 3:45 an was given the option of chicken or chicken.(sold out on everything else) But when I say it was worth it in every way I mean it!! We got pulled chicken platters with baked beans an sides. The food was stellar and plentiful! I can not say enough good about our first experience. Whenever we are in the area we will be stopping by with our two pups.”
“Great place to eat. Love food and people. This is the best place to eat.Great prices and good variety. And great people working their. My family only eats their”
“Amazzzzing ice cream (we had Halloween candy flavor!) and even better was sitting outside while Steve (owner) shared a ton of history with us. Don’t bother waiting in line for the place down the street, go here!!”
“This is a charming spot with good food and quick service, although it can get busy. My burger was cooked just right and the fries were outstanding! Parking is right behind the restaurant and there is an overflow gravel lot behind the paved lot.”
“Cute place on the back end of the battlefield. Mozzarella sticks were really good and cooked perfectly! The chili dog was just ok. Not enough chili and cheese sauce overpowered the bun. The pizza was good, but the sauce was tangy, overly chunky, and acidic. For the price was a good value and would go back!”
“This was my second visit. Live out of state but when in PA this beautiful winery is on my list of places I have to visit before heading home. Great staff and an outstanding selection of wine”
“Great coffee. Relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff. A great place to catch up with friends over a cup of coffee and a snack. Just went there for the first time but will be back!”
“Yum, just... yum. We are visiting Gburg and local family came by our bnb & brought cheesecake & cookies. We started sampling the cheesecake before dinner, and then had to go buy more quick before they closed. And we still have no leftovers. Local Gburgers, run- don't walk- to SwS! I'm only happy I don't live here b/c I'd weigh 100k pounds. Enjoy your gem of a dessert shop!”
“This was a great, casual, fun stop for some good food and fun distilled drinks. The interior is all brick, industrial warm atmosphere with good music, clean, well lit. We loved the goat cheese brûlée with hot pepper jam. We ordered two. Served with pita bread. The selection of drinks is great. You can get just the alcohol, or they make fabulous cocktails. We will come back.”
“Great flavor choices and they usually have something unique. Quantity of ice cream is good with fresh waffle cones. They need either an out door sink or wet wipes to clean sticky fingers.”
“To be fair the pizza was tasty enough. staff was friendly and order was ready before quoted time!! However was pretty disappointed to order a “Deep Dish Chicago Style” pizza and it was not even close. It was a pepperoni pan pizza with slightly thicker crust and wayy too much cheese. Nothing Chicago or deep dish about it. Was reallly excited to see that on the menu locally, but it should not be labeled that :( The pizza sauce was good (but not on top, or extra like chicago style) & we still enjoyed it but 10000% not a chi deep dish. I would have paid less to order a regular pizza with pepperoni than paying the higher price for deep dish when it was not. Photos to compare their pizza to a chicago style.”
“This place is legitimate. No frills no chain no fancy just good wholesome traditional fair. A little difficult to id as a restaurant . You have to go through the laundromat, but don’t let that fool you. very friendly people.”
“Gave it a 4 because I ordered a chocolate milk and it barely had any chocolate in it and it cost me $3.75....and I also had to pay $1.95 for potatoes to go along with my omelette.”
“Great value for breakfast food. I ordered the Ham and Cheese Omelet with mushrooms and I was very pleased with the quality for only $8; the service was speedy and the waiter was cordial. My friend ordered the Greek Omelet with asparagus and feta and it looked great, he said it was a good choice. I liked the small, mom-and-pop vibe of the restaurant; I would recommend this to anyone wanting a nice sit down breakfast while at Liberty Mountain Resort.”
