Flight of Cider and an Old Fashion

“One evening in Gettysburg we stopped in the Ploughman, and were pleasantly surprised. A mix of ciders some of them very good, graced our first flight. We were lucky enough to have live music the night we were there, and enjoyed it enough to have a second flight to extend our stay. In this one we hit a couple of surprising winners, both a pleasant CrabApple cider and a sour Peach (not that we had any idea that peach would be likely to be this sour). They looked to have a fair selection of food, but we had already had dinner, so were mostly there for the drinks. Next time we are in town, we'll give the food a shot too.“

“I stopped in on a Saturday late afternoon. I had time to burn while waiting for my tour of the Jennie Wade house up the street and I saw this on the map. It’s a small place from what I saw, I sat on the closed in porch room and watched people and traffic passing from the window while I drank my cider. The cider was a bit too sweet for my preference, sort of more like a wine but a lot of people do like it that way. The bartenders were friendly. It looked like they might have outdoor seating behind the building but not totally sure if that was another business or a public area - there is an ice cream shop next door. I parked on the street. Meter parking payable to app or website. I think it was $2.50ish for 2 hours. I’d say if you like cider, stop in and give them a try. They do have wine too. I didn’t notice food options but maybe I just missed that because I wasn’t looking for any.“

“Great stop! We sat at the bar, Michael was our server. He was nice and engaging. Had great recommendations for food & cider (I highly recommend the honey crisp and fireside man those were good) . The cider flight is the way to go to try 4 different flavors. My Coworker had the crispy chicken sand, which was great and I had a maragita pizza, it hit the spot! No complaints here. If I was in the area longer I'd went back a second time.“

“Today was our first visit. We had no idea what a gem we were missing out on. They make flat bread pizzas in an outdoor oven, offer wines slushies, wine tastings, and cider tastings. I also saw loaded nachos on the menu. All of the staff were friendly. We'll definitely visit again.“
