The Crown Tavern offers very good overall food and service, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere as soon as guests step inside. The Water (tap) and Coffee are highly rated, and the food quality remains excellent. Customers recommend the Toffee Pudding, Shrimp Cocktail, Bangers & Mash, and Lemon Olive Oil Cake. Recently, a family celebrating a 50th birthday enjoyed a variety of meals, including fish and chips, mussels, bangers and mash, steak, and pastas, all served hot and delicious. Guests have praised the fish and chips for being incredibly tender, and some have enjoyed the unique version of shepherd's pie, along with mouth-watering brussel sprouts with dates. While service is usually attentive—like with Jacob providing exceptional care—there have been occasional issues, such as incorrect orders like salads with pickled onions when requested without. Although the air conditioning was down during a recent visit, the overall experience was still enjoyable, with guests appreciating the drinks, appetizers, and the pleasant background entertainment. The Crown Tavern continues to be one of the favorite eateries in the area, known for its welcoming staff and great happy hour, with guests looking forward to returning soon.
