Everything was fantastic, the staff more than catered to me and my group, and they were very friendly and accommodating. Comfy place and I would def get back there soon!

My family and I were turned away for having our 1 year old son. As we were driving away, we noticed multiple families with young children and was confused why these rules were not consistent. Very disappointed that this establishment is not child friendly, as it is already difficult to find places where my husband and I can have a dinner out with our son.

We have been loyal patrons of The Fainting Goat for years and, until recently, have consistently enjoyed excellent food, service, and hospitality. Unfortunately, our most recent experience left us deeply disappointed and has significantly altered our perception of the establishment.

On a Sunday visit for brunch, after four years of frequent patronage, my husband and I were denied entry because of a dress code policy prohibiting men from wearing tank tops. My husband was wearing a basketball jersey, and when we respectfully requested to speak with management for clarification, we were informed that the policy applies exclusively to men.

What was particularly troubling was the obvious inconsistency in its enforcement. Female patrons were permitted to wear tank tops, cutoff tops, and midriff-baring clothing without issue, yet my husband was denied service solely because he is male. When we questioned the rationale behind this apparent double standard, the manager’s response was simply, “That’s what the owner wants.”

In an era where businesses are expected to apply policies fairly and consistently, a gender-specific dress code that arbitrarily restricts one group while exempting another is both disappointing and difficult to justify. More concerning was the dismissive manner in which our concerns were addressed. Rather than offering a thoughtful explanation, management chose to hide behind the owner’s preference, leaving us feeling unwelcome and disrespected.

After years of supporting this restaurant, it is unfortunate that our loyalty was met with such an exclusionary and outdated policy. What should have been an enjoyable brunch turned into an experience that left a lasting sour taste and has caused us to never return.

Looking for a good, clean local restaurant while in Philadelphia and The Fainting Goat knocked it out of the park. Great Philly Cheese and sweet potato fries.
