Most food was great & some unique choices are offered. Though I had a burger that was SO dry. Very unique & cool ambience.. Old time feel with flair - that was great. Server said everything we asked about was "the best ever" but I'm not convinced he just wasn't saying that & might have been new as he had to look on the menu to see what was in dishes before telling us how great it was. Then he forgot to bring my salad & generally seemed preoccupied/busy etc.. but "absent" a lot was the best way to describe it. Just not as attentive as we're used to at really most any restaurant. Will try again as others liked it - so I will return at some point but wouldn't go out of my way to. Give it a try - my table mates liked it a lot.

I forgot exactly how great a high-end neighborhood restaurant Hartwood Restaurant & Whispers Pub (aka 'Hartwood Whispers') is. The food was excellent and of high quality. There are a variety of options. There is friendly service. This is a place you could head to 2-3 times in a month easily and get completely different meals and sit in completely different areas of the restaurant. If you are local, I'd say put it back on your list if it somehow slipped off like it had for us.

Food was very good but pricey, service was okay at times waitress was not around much but she was pleasant. Dining room was cold and a little uncomfortable

We always enjoy the ever changing wine menu and the variety of options that are found on the menu. It meets my vegan, gluten free diet and still has great fish and meat options for the more traditional appetite. Love the different options for seating as well, outdoor, pub or more give fining options are all available. Recommend!

Food was excellent as usual. I had the goat cheese salad. Also a grilled chicken breast - perfectly cooked. The others had equally satisfying meals. Will be returning!

Tasteful decor. Great menu offerings. The Cottage Pie was spectacular. The soda bread was wonderful...we asked for seconds. And our server, Emily did an amazing job!

This was our first time at this restaurant. The parking lot looked full, but inside, were multiple separate dining rooms for guest as well as a very inviting bar area. The service was very good and the food was excellent. There was no excessive noise and the real experience was quite positive. We will definitely return.

Food never disappoints, the staff are accommodating and helpful as a group , our server was unfortunately very slow to tend to us , waiting over 20min after placing our drink order This is not the norm here and hopefully if was just a one-off night. We will return based on previous good experiences

We had a fun time here. The staff was great and it seemed like we were late to the party as the restaurant was with filled with customers. We are happy to know about the Hartwood and will return.

It's more than a restaurant, it's an experience. The chef here is one of the best in the northeast and the hartwood is grateful to have him. Like most of Pittsburgh the staff is the friendliest and most welcoming . The atmosphere and overall ambience is fantastic. You'll never regret dining here

We've dined here a few times but wanted to write a review. The menu is eclectic and there are enough dishes so everyone was able find something- However, save room for their amazing Pecan Ball. Everything was delicious but what makes this place SO special is the phenomenal staff- especially Lexus and Iona. Both were professional, efficient, lovely and personable. Talking with them made our dining experience EVEN better - and it seems like all of the staff feel like family- which is the exact vibe that they give to their guests. Highly recommend
