“I was a bit hesitant to visit this Burger King after seeing its surprisingly low rating of 2.6 on Google and Apple Maps. My expectations were very low!
But!
The staff was friendly, and Kendall, who served us, was particularly polite and attentive—thank you, Kendall! He was even delivering orders outside for customers to clear the line on the drive through. The food was prepared in a timely manner. The restaurant itself was clean, which is always a good sign.

I noticed some complaints about long wait times, but honestly, if you want freshly cooked food, a bit of a wait is expected. Perhaps I got lucky, or maybe some reviewers have unrealistic expectations for fast food. This is, after all, a Burger King, not a Michelin restaurant.

Overall, my experience was much better than the reviews led me to expect. I wouldn’t hesitate to stop by again!“

“They added bone in chicken to the menu. The fried chicken sandwich was already top in the city along with Chickn. Now they’re also a contender for best fried chicken in town along with quik-it and giant eagle. Service is fast, flavor and quality are top shelf, and value is great to boot.“

“Went for a late dinner after the Heidelberg October fest with my fiancé and 5 year old for the first time since the expansion. I had high expectations because we have had take out multiple times and have been pleased. We were not disappointed! We had a hot dog, Cuban sandwich, torts with salsa (AMAZING as always), tater tots and the soup special. Everything was great but the pumpkin/corn harvest chowder was phenomenal, the complexity and layers of flavors was out of this world. I am not easily impressed so I was blown away by our meal. Our server/bartender was great and went out of his way to ensure we had a stellar experience. We will be back again soon!“

“What a find! Flavorful, decorative and clean atmosphere, and very economical. Was looking for a walkable place from PPG that's good for a group and it's literally right across the street. The menu is build-your-own so everyone can get what they want (think Chipotle for Mediterranean food - but much better quality and flavor!). It's very economical too, which is rare for this area. They even brought our group free lentil soup samples that were SO good! They have a kids menu as well. Will be coming again!“

“Burgers are alright, although the onion rings are really hit or miss; sometimes they're made fresh and when they are they slap, other times they're the pre-made frozen style and they're below average.

“Not in the mood to cook tonight and wanted to try this place since it moved here years ago. We came in early, but it never really got busy even though there were hockey games going on. We found the outside entrance(s) and were immediately sat at a table. Perusing the menu, we had some questions and our waitress was more than happy to spend the time with us to answer all of them. She did not know the answers to some of the beer ones, and she was honest about that, which we truly appreciated. She also noticed that we were struggling to decide on which burgers to order, so she informed us that since this was a Tuesday, their special of the night is to have any three of their regular house burgers made into sliders as a meal. What a meal deal! Two of us jumped on that and got to try different combinations that appealed to us. The other member of our party tried one of the Smash burgers from the faster menu. We also swapped out the fries for the grilled zucchini (for $2 upcharge)

Since we were having similar issues with some of the unknown beers, the waitress came to the rescue again and offered a couple of samples to help us decide. Wonderful service!!!

Ultimately we placed all of our orders and got our food. We enjoyed it all. I cannot say that we liked one burger more than any other for they were all tasty. The fries were good too. the zucchini was probably the best as it was lightly grilled and had a very tasty balsamic glaze on top of the tomatoes and other toppings.

About the only negative in the place is that it could use a refresher. It is clearly used hard - and looks it.

The complete tab for all of - including beers, food, and tip, was under $25 per person which is very reasonable these days.

“This restaurant has street parking with a meter, quarters only. We did not have any quarters, had to go to the family dollar to buy something to get some. The restaurant is order at the counter then sit down and they bring it to you. The menu was small. The metal chairs are also small. We were coming in as 2 other tables were finishing up, I'm not sure why they do not have more customers. I ordered a salad. It was okay, I wasn't a fan of the cheese melted with the meat to a big sheet on top. My husband got the reuben and fries, my son got a smash burger with fries. My husband likes his choice, and my 13 year old did not like the flavor on the fries. We are visiting from out of state, I would say this is not a place that stands out as a must have for me. Also they do not sell alcohol, which did not matter to us. However another couple came in and left due to that.“

“Not the same as it was, but the new owner is passionate and the staff is top notch. I miss some of the charm of the old vibe, but the Pub is in the hands of someone who appears to care about the place, while following her own vision. Still one of the best spots to grab a Guinness, eat a little (good) pub food and share a good conversation.“

“Revised 3/2025: I forgot about Applebee's (sorry) bc I don't drive past it anymore on my regular driving routes. Hmm.. GOT an idea... DL the app & ordered their food. WoW! With the deals & combos + 2/$25 we EACH had basically 2 meals in 1. PS Spinach & Artichoke dip is soo FAB! I did have a tiny glitch, sucks when you don't realize it, till your back home :( However, I called, spoke to "Miss Becky" I believe was her name, and got it ALL resolved. She's got GREAT people skills, you know, works well with the public. Pleasant. Courteous. Understanding. VERY pleased WITH entire experience. The AMOUNT of food and the ending TOTAL. App it in the WONDERFUL economy!

“Primanti Bros gets the attention, but every time I come to Pittsburgh for a game I go to Peppi's. Home of the Roethlis-burger (fantastic) Peppi's is a must visit. It's also close to Yinzer's so there's plenty of places to pick up some gear before or after you grab a sandwich. I love this place!“

“Charred restaurant is inside the City Kitchen dining hall. Charred makes many flavors of burgers as well as some appetizers and salads.

I ate lunch here. I used my smart phone to access and order from the restaurant’s menu. About 10 minutes later, an employee brought my food to my table. I enjoyed my wagyu cheeseburger, truffle fries, and side salad.“

“No idea why there are bad reviews because my experience was good. Ordered the California chicken sandwich and garlic fries. Marquise, who took my order recommended me their house made ranch which I got as a dip. I chose their new queso in my sandwich. Everything was good and fresh. Service was perfect. I was asked 2-3 times if everything was ok or if I needed anything else.“

“Very solid burger spot with reasonable prices for a good quality and nice sized burger. They are known for a smash burger style. I tried a very simple single smash burger.The burger came with pickles, American cheese, pickles, Simply sauce, and a potato roll. The meat itself was pretty good. I would have preferred it be a bit more juicy, and thought it was a tad over cooked, but still good.The sauce has a slight acidity to it, and was pleasant. Almost like a horseradish flavor. A good amount of sauce as well. The pickles were nice and fresh. The bun was really good, as it soaked up the meat's juices and the sauce well. Decent cheese although a bit plasticy.All in all, a solid burger place. The meat is pretty decent, good sauce, good bun, and a decent price for the portion. I'd recommend trying them; they do the simple things correctly.

“Wanted a late night meal, so headed here to pick up something and got there right before they closed. The staff was extremely nice even though they were closing up in the back. We ordered a large cheese pizza and it came out pretty quick ~15 minutes. The pizza itself was a little on the greasy side, but the dough and cheese were great and they cooked it slightly crispy as requested making it a decent meal (7.6/10). Definitely want to try other things at this restaurant as they have an extensive menu, but would recommend for a quick pizza.“

“Went there for the first time on a Saturday for dinner. Nice place with lots of options. Our server who was doubling as cook was super nice and answered all our questions and special requests. I got the Cranberry Poppins salad. It was fresh, delicious and very large. The rest of my party had the fish sandwich, the chicken tenders and fries and the Alcove Burger. Everyone liked their food. We left just as the band was setting up. Would definitely go back again.“

“Definitely, an experience took my grandmother out because the yard was closed, and we drove passes and saw a crowd of people. First, we thought it was a party because kids were playing in the middle of their yard and were able to find a parking space at the front very, very rare. She didn't want to sit outside, so we walked in. Both our faces were confused. One the beautiful employees from the first restaurant when you first walk in from the parking lot stopped what they were doing and explained the experience we was bout to have three separate restaurants in one building side-by-side each other three different menus and if you wanted to order from all three you could. It was very overwhelming, so we stuck with what we know chicken and salmon sandwich and fries with a salad from Elevate. There a twist to everything you buy, so if you bring your kids sn there funny about food, keep them home or head somewhere else you'll be wasting your money.“

“We wanted to try something new and wow this place was amazing. What a great choice! Once I saw cevappi (delicious Balkan Sausage) in the menu, I stopped looking. You can’t get it anywhere around here. That plus the amazing home fries that were super crispy and delicious. My husband loved his chicken schwarma which was super flavorful. I loved all the sauces in it too. You must come check it out. Everyone was really friendly and wanted to make sure you were happy which is rare anymore.“

I used to live here about 8 years ago and moved away for that time period, but as soon as I moved back in 2023, I had to get some of their wings!The wings are just as incredible as before and their flavors are insane! The menu might look a bit intimidating with all of the crazy fun flavors, but trust me, you won't get a bad one from them!
