Just had an early w a friend Mia our server was excellent, personable and sweet! Ordered an Sunset grill Old Fashion it tasted watered down set it back ordered a different cocktail. The so called bar tender/ manager charged me for the lousy cocktail$12 vs $7! It will be a long time before I patronize this place!!!

Couple huge negatives for me, there was a strong background smell in the restaurant I couldn't identify that I found incredibly unappetizing, service was slow but that was due to being short staffed that night. The food had potential but missed the mark pretty badly, the tenderloin tips Tagliatelle could have been awesome but a rustica sauce it basically crushed tomatoes cooked fairly lightly, not chunks of tomatoes in a fairly concentrated sauce....that overpowered everything else. But common with Italian -American cooking vs authentic Italian cooking. My basis , I've spend the last 35 years eating authentic Italian food by people born and raised in Italy. Mother in law is from outside Naples, Wife grew up in Tuscany and have a circle of friend who immigrated from Sicily as adults who have restaurants in the DC area .

I was hired here to work a few shifts a week, as I already have a full time job. Told them I was available weekday nights and occasional weekends. On Thursday they asked me to work the weekend to which I told them I normally would but I was traveling to Chicago.Not only did they not schedule me to work again, but they didn't pay me for 7 shifts, totaling around 40 hours. Owners - MAKE THIS RIGHT AND ILL REMOVE THIS REVIEW!

We eat here about once a month. Service is usually very good. On 1-31-24 the service was EXCELLENT! We had a young man, Jack, as our server. He introduced himself, smiled genuinely & warmly, looked us in the eye when he spoke to us, was professional & courteous, and very attentive. It was so refreshing to have a young person exhibit these qualities. As business owners, we take notice of staff and service and appreciate it when it is exceptional. The food at Sunset is always good. Sometimes the dining room a little tight & loud but it's because they are usually busy. Outdoor area is a nice option in warmer months. I only post when I am very disappointed or exceptionally pleased. Jack was definitely worth mentioning!

Things we ordered before our dinner came .. it was not an enjoyable experience.. it was more like having to be thankful we got any food then being able to take it all in .. ie. atmosphere, company and a good dining experience .. we spent a lot of money and it was a terrible dining experience .. go to Olive and Peppers instead
