We happened upon this charming, vintage, European-inspired bakery/café on a summer trip in the Poconos. What a delightful find! The coffee was fantastic; scones had a tender crumb; and the Portuguese custard tarts were the closest we have found in the U.S. to the delectable pasteles de nata we enjoyed in Lisbon. A friend brought a chocolate dessert with a layer of cherry. It was absolutely delicious. The bakery is 2 hours away from me, but I will absolutely be visiting in the future based on this gifted experience! Phenomenal!!
The BEST empanadas in existence. Cakes, pastries, cookies, etc are also delicious but the empanadas are my reason to visit. I just wish they had some better hours. We pass by on our way to wallenpaupack on Friday evenings, and again traveling home Sunday afternoons. Both times they're usually closed. It's rare I get to stop in and I'm sure my family isn't alone with this situation.
