“My husband and I have been vacationing here in the Poconos for about 10 years. We are from Maryland. We discovered Cakes and Scones several years ago and ever since, we make it a point to go to our favorite bakery, Cakes & Scones! Always have had the best scones, cakes (esp the chocolate lava cake!!), coffee, quiches, and pies!!!We bought a blueberry crumb pie this year and it was loaded with blueberries and not too sweet, but sweet enough! It was delicious to say the least!! One reviewer complained that they did not have doughnuts—I would refer that said person to check out Dunkin Doughnuts!!Tere and Andy are wonderful bakers, pleasant to talk to and most helpful. We always look forward when we come to the Poconos and check out their latest bakery item!! We have never been disappointed!!”

“I stopped for the first time to get a lunch to go. I got the tuna wrap which was so amazing with onion rings which hands down were the best I ever had. The servers were beyond nice and efficient. Today, I had 7 sandwiches. They took the time and listened to me for every single detail, no arguments or anything. We joked and talked the whole time as they were making them.

“John’s Italian is excellent! The pizza is absolutely delicious with the perfect crispy crust. The Stromboli is huge, crunchy on the outside, and packed with flavor. The service is always friendly and welcoming.

What made our visit extra special was the kindness of the staff. My two kids each donated a dollar to support autism, and the ladies working there surprised them with two huge cookies as a thank-you. Such a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to them. Great food, wonderful people, and outstanding customer service. We’ll definitely be back!”

“If you’re looking for phenomenal food in the Pocono’s, Tom’s Country Kitchen is it! I only started getting food from here as of recently. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on this deliciousness all these years I’ve lived here. Now I can’t wait to check their FB to see the special’s. “The staff here are so lovely, and the pierogies were fantastic! We tried the wild mushroom and the potato cheddar, and couldn't decide which we liked more since both had such wonderful flavor. They even gave some slices of kielbasa as a little treat to our whiny pup. We'd happily come back here and definitely recommend it if you're in the area!”

“My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon at The French Manor. The food served for breakfast and dinner was excellent. The view from the top of the hill is really scenic. The staff were kind and helpful. We stayed in the Venice room. It was nicely decorated, but the bathroom would benefit from some updates with the plumbing (water can be forceful at times since it is well water). I would recommend staying in the spa suites as they looked more modern. The spa was very relaxing, and all guests have free access to the sauna and saltwater pool.”

“The entire evening was incredible. The authentic German food reminded me of grandma’s. The owners are welcoming and make you feel at home. Not to mention 2 floors of antique gems. I’m sorry we didn’t discover this sooner but certainly will be back.”

I also love her gluten free baked goods. As a celiac I truly appreciate when someone makes the effort to have a yummy treat available with my coffee. Also, everything is so affordable so you can cheat on your Keurig more than once a week 😬”

“Roadside catered our wedding at The Venue at Carley Brook and the food and service was outstanding! Our guests raved about the cocktail hour appetizers and the dinner. The service during the cocktail hour was especially great as there were always options being passed out by staff. Coordination was a breeze and the prices were reasonable. We will be stopping by the restaurant for some more food this summer!”

“Wow! I can’t say enough about how good breakfast just was! We started with fresh really hot coffee. My friend had the creamed chipped beef which he said was delicious. I had eggs which were cooked just right, yummy hot home fries and crispy bacon. The toast was even toasted to perfection and the bacon just the way I like it, crispy! Looking forward to eating there again. Our server was excellent. What more could you ask for? ❤️”
