“The place is GORGEOUS. Decorated nicely for the holidays as well. The staff was great overall, with server Anthony was extremely nice and the management taking the time to talk to us about the renovations and experience there. The food was delicious. We had a mountain of calamari and the braised short ribs. Will absolutely book here the next time we stay at Skytop.”

“Went for breakfast, dinner, and buffet dinner (thanksgiving dinner). Breakfast buffet was better last year, now its similar to what you would find at a hilton hotel. Regular dinner was great, I recommend the octopus and their bread pudding dessert. Thanksgiving dinner was great, plenty of options and the spread was great.”

“Neighborhood Bar in a secluded spot in Greentown.....while it does seem that everyone who comes in know one another, the staff wear shirts stating "there are no strangers here, only friends you haven't yet met" and we were certainly made to feel that way....staff is friendly and attentive......the menu is small and understand that it is bar food.....however it is definitely above average.....wings are very good and you can choose from many different sauces or dry rubs.....we have only had the cheesesteak hero here but it is what they are known for and you can order a half or whole and have different options including chicken or steak....I certainly recommend trying Mountainhouse Tavern.....you just might go in for dinner and extend your stay at the bar with new friends while listening to local bands.......”

“It was an absolutely wonderful experience, even with the rain. The cabin was quaint and adorable. We were right along the lake and saw a beautiful and serene scene... and we had no clue what to expect in the restaurant, but the food was absolutely amazing, the waitstaff was completely welcoming and the ambience was so romantic and inviting. All of this was for an incredible price...we will definitely be back!”

“We were greeted by name since we had a reservation. We were seated right away. The atmosphere is so fun and unique. The waitress was helpful and friendly. “BEST place to get a cheesesteak on the mountain (in my opinion)! Not only is Sherry an absolute pleasure to talk to but the food DOES NOT disappoint. My kids love the funnel fries and cheesy bacon ranch fries. The chili cheese fries are a definite go to. I get a cheesesteak loaded (mushrooms, onions and sweet and hot peppers) with mayo and ketchup. Boy is it LOADED and.....OUT OF THIS WORLD. “If you love seafood, this is where you need to go! I've been here a couple times and everything I have tried so far has been delicious. The whiting and catfish are my favs and the candied yams are so good. The prices aren't bad either. With the Managers Special you get a whole lot of food for not a lot of money. If you haven't been here yet, give it a try. You won't be disappointed.”

“If the amount of time we spent here is any indication... we loved it! We spent 2 hours exploring the menu and enjoying our couples' time together. The place is very cozy and intimate. They have a retro, warm, inviting decor with a notable single tapered candle surrounded by a glass chimney on the counter. The kitchen is very small but packed with some fun, top-level, modern equipment. We started with a sage tea, a very berry smoothie, lox, and a ham and cheese croissant sandwich with a side salad. Later, we tried a matcha affigato, blueberry muffin, and a vanilla latte to conclude our visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will return! There is a spa and inn attached, which we hope to check out in the future! There are about 6 tables outdoors over two separate areas, which would be fun to relax at when the weather is warmer. They were very friendly and welcoming during our extended stay.”

“2nd time here. First was spur of the moment had to sit at bar and eat. Ordered filet mignon rated it 8.5 of 10 had to come back to try again at table service. Made reservations they squeezed us in same day as call tried to order filet again but they were out? Friday night out already 5:30 pm? Very disappointed but ordered the strip steak. Steak was cooked perfect but sauce on it was just ok. Dinner does come with warm bread and side salad both were delicious”

“Great find after visiting Mt. Wismer Trail. The kids loved the food and I got the steak for lunch. Very surprised for that a piece that big and it was absolutely worth it.There was a smoking and no smoking side and felt like a very comfortable spot to unwind.”

They had coloring pages and crayons to keep them occupied, and a menu special for them. Very affordable place, decent prices. Very friendly waitress. Loved the ambiance and decor. “We live right here in Mountain Home. So ths is not a “weekender” sending in a review. If it wasn’t the BEST place ever, tje locals would never go back. Aside from that, they make the absolutely most wonderful sandwiches and Rays homemade soups are fantastic. Also aside, the folks that work there go above and beyond to help you with your order. Friendly , cheerful, it’s the place you go when you need a lift, coffee or smile wise. Spend a little time there, if you want “in and out” in 10 minutes, to go a fast food place on the highway. Those of us here in town love the atmosphere and the friendship. Weekend welcome, too.”
