“The place was very niceThe only two things I didn't like what was in my chicken that was not enough spinach, and the shrimp was always three pieces for $18. I think that was a little too high.”
“If you are looking for somewhere to eat along Lake Wallenpaupack, this is the place. Something to note is that it is not lakefront, which is okay. As soon as you walk in, you get a lot warmer. Not cold, not hot. warm. It was very cold outside, so it felt AMAZING to get out of the cold weather. It gives off a very cozy, log cabin atmosphere. The chicken wings were excellent. If you really chicken wings, you should get these. The pizza was very good too. Something I thought was really cool was that they had projectors instead of tvs, so they could project four games at once. The bathrooms were very clean and not dirty at all. One thing I please ask is to keep them that way. I will definitely be back here again. Would recommend!”
“Neighborhood Bar in a secluded spot in Greentown.....while it does seem that everyone who comes in know one another, the staff wear shirts stating "there are no strangers here, only friends you haven't yet met" and we were certainly made to feel that way....staff is friendly and attentive......the menu is small and understand that it is bar food.....however it is definitely above average.....wings are very good and you can choose from many different sauces or dry rubs.....we have only had the cheesesteak hero here but it is what they are known for and you can order a half or whole and have different options including chicken or steak....I certainly recommend trying Mountainhouse Tavern.....you just might go in for dinner and extend your stay at the bar with new friends while listening to local bands.......”
“We had a large party for my father's birthday on February 29th. The staff was able to accommodate over 20 people and efficiently served us all. The portion size was surprisingly large, and the price point was reasonable for the portion size. I ate my leftovers for three meals the rest of the weekend.”
“Stopped here on a whim and was one of my better life choices today. The cowgirl chicken was great the Sweet cheetah was first bite bliss. Best of all was interaction with the owners and staff overall great ”
“I own a house in greentown, so we drive here every time we're up. the breakfast is amazing and they have some of the best sandwiches I've had. We love this place and Hope you continue to do well! Awesome food!”
“More of a 4.7 but it’s all about the beer!! Really good beer selection and quality. Nice views and the inside has a great comfortable feeling. But the beer?? Magnificent”
“Great friendly family-owned local bakery! Love the bear claw and pecan pie. And to meet Grandma Goldsack herself was a plus. They also have a lounge with board games if you feel like hanging out with a cup of coffee.”
“I truly have no words to accurately explain how wonderful this place is. I’m in my forties and this is the first time in my life I left a restaurant smiling from the inside out. I am home now two hours later writing this review and still smiling. It’s something you have to experience for yourself.”
“2nd time here. First was spur of the moment had to sit at bar and eat. Ordered filet mignon rated it 8.5 of 10 had to come back to try again at table service. Made reservations they squeezed us in same day as call tried to order filet again but they were out? Friday night out already 5:30 pm? Very disappointed but ordered the strip steak. Steak was cooked perfect but sauce on it was just ok. Dinner does come with warm bread and side salad both were delicious”
“Lovely atmosphere even on a busy Saturday night. Food was very good and portions are large. I was particularly impressed that our waitress overheard it was my friend's birthday and when she brought the dessert she had placed a candle in it for her.”
“We went to dinner Saturday to celebrate Tommy’s birthday- party of 8. Only 2 out of our group had ever been there before. The atmosphere was charming, food was amazing and our server, Donna (Palooza) lol was delightful… happy birthday to her as well ? it was so uplifting to go to a restaurant that strives and achieves all of those goals. We will certainly return soon…. Don’t change a thing.?”
“The prices were incredibly reasonable, the food was good, and the aesthetic is charming. The service was prompt and very friendly. Absolutely recommended, especially if you're hungry and a bit road weary.”
“Great find after visiting Mt. Wismer Trail. The kids loved the food and I got the steak for lunch. Very surprised for that a piece that big and it was absolutely worth it.There was a smoking and no smoking side and felt like a very comfortable spot to unwind.”
“Great coffee and a cool atmosphere. The batista was super friendly and even recommended some local dining places for us. If your looking for a cup of coffee or other beverage go here.”
“We went here for pre- dinner cocktails and didn't want to leave. This place is full of old school charm. The staff made us feel at home immediately. You could certainly tell who the regulars were and they too made us feel welcome. This place will continue to be in the rotation for fun while at the lake.”
“Fast fresh food. Corned beef hash is amazing. Place looks small and always packed but there always seems to be seat open and the inside is bigger than you'd expect. I'd dare to say best diner in the area.”
“Love this place! Pizza is really good. We also like to get wings. And fries- which are somehow always crispy even tho it's takeout, lol. Mike's is our first choice for take out.”
“My Bride and I had the pleasure of dining at Betty Boop's Airport Cafe at Cherry Ridge Airport, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. As soon as we sat down, we were warmly greeted by a pleasant young lady who promptly took our drink orders and explained the ordering process. Our waitress was equally efficient, taking our orders within minutes.I opted for the Western Omelet with fries, while my Bride chose the Greek Omelet. Both dishes were served with toast and potatoes, and we couldn't resist trying "Mom's" homemade bread, which was absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, and the food was cooked to perfection. The cafe itself was bright and clean, with windows all around that allowed us to enjoy the view of planes landing and taking off on a clear day. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. What impressed us the most was the reasonable pricing, especially considering the quality and quantity of the food. We left feeling satisfied and already planning our next visit, this time for lunch. Betty Boop's Airport Cafe has definitely earned a spot on our list of go-to places for a delicious meal. Highly recommended!”
“We were finally able to sample some pastries from this bake shop on Friday. Everything we purchased was delicious. It tasted wonderful and had very fresh and flaky dough! Can't wait to get back to try some other goodies!!”
“Visited this nice little cafe while me and my wife were visiting the poconos. The food was really good. It had that hometown feel which is always nice. The waitress was very friendly and we would definately stop again if we are ever in the area again.”
“Great local spot in the area. The staff is very friendly and the food came out fast. I got the Pittsburg burger which came with crispy fries and we also got pierogis and penne a la vodka. Def good picks, would like to try the rest of the menu!”
“Sweet Sensation cakes made our daughter’s vision come alive for her sweet 16. We are extremely pleased with the end result and highly recommend you choose Sweet Sensation for your next event!! The cake looked amazing and tasted amazing!! Thank you Sweet Sensation!!”
“they have a super cozy atmosphere. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. The bartender doubled as a cook, and she was super attentive. the Pat's burger and pizza were yummy as well. It's definitely a solid spot to eat in the area.”
“Cora's 1850 Bistro is an absolute gem in Hawley! My Bride and I decided to stop for lunch, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be. When we arrived, the restaurant was bustling with guests, and I thought we might have to wait a while. However, to my amazement, we were promptly seated by a friendly waitress who took our drink order and handed us menus. The efficiency and attentiveness of the staff were truly impressive.Despite the crowd, our orders were swiftly taken by another server, and before we knew it, our food arrived in just five minutes! I opted for the special, a mouthwatering prime rib on ciabatta bread, while my Bride enjoyed the turkey eddy, also on ciabatta bread. Both dishes were exquisitely prepared and bursting with flavor. What struck me most about Cora's 1850 Bistro was its seamless operation. The restaurant runs like a well-oiled machine, delivering exceptional service and delicious food with remarkable speed. It's no wonder they were able to handle a packed house so effortlessly. To top it off, the bar area boasts TVs displaying a variety of sports, ensuring you won't miss a moment of the action while you dine. If you find yourself in Hawley and craving a satisfying meal, do yourself a favor and stop by Cora's 1850 Bistro. You won't be disappointed!”
“My husband & I organized a little 3 nite get-away to Woodloch Resort (Pines area) for ourselves, 3 other couples & one single friend. We are all in our 60s so everyone has had years to solidly determine they like their creature comforts. We are a pretty well-traveled group so some not easily impressed. Hubby, myself & our single friend have all been to Woodloch a few times & love it! We have never visited in November & hoped there would be enough for us to do. Planning to please 6 other adults left us with fingers-crossed, as inevitably there is always someone who feels a restaurant, hotel, etc. didn't quite meet their expectations. However for this trip, every person LOVED it!! The check-in is not until 5:00 pm but we were allowed to get our wristbands & enjoy the amenities of the resort while we waited for a text that our room was ready. The 3 couples each had Deluxe Lakeview accommodations in the Greenbriar bldg., attached to main building. They were thrilled with the beautiful view each morning from their room or while on their private balcony/patio. They were able to walk to the dining room, night club/show area, sports bar, or lobby which was our usual meeting point, all without going outside. They were right there for mini-golf, bocci, etc. For those traveling with kids it is close to the big playground, water slide in summer or snowtubing in winter, pedal boats or rowboats. My husband, friend & I shared an Edgewater Suite which had a full kitchen, a large bedroom with 2 queen beds, living room with pull out sleeper couch which my friend said was comfortable (but that's based on someone who regularly falls asleep lying on her couch - LOL) & a washer & dryer. Very spacious. It was a little bit of a walk to the main bldg which was no issue for hubs & me but my friend has walking issues. No problem there - there were 3 shuttles that ran right up until midnight. Never a long wait & at times we called the front desk if we knew she just missed it & another shuttle was immediately dispatched. When she asked an employee for a safe way to walk down to the pontoon boat ride as to not go down a somewhat steep walkway they offered to call for a golf cart ride & were right there with it. The one word to describe every employee would be "Accommodating!" Now, of course, food is also important. We had a meal plan that included breakfast & dinner. Both meals each day were plentiful, very good, good variety (breakfast standard crowd-pleasers of eggs any style, home fries, bacon/sausage/turkey bacon, & their homemade bread & morning cake (amazing crumb cake one day, an apple crumb another, etc.), or egg white frittata for those seeking a healthier alternative, just to name a few. Dinner always had homemade soup, family style serving of salad & veggie plus 4 entree choices that included an option for non-meat eaters. Of course, those delicious homemade breads were right there for the taking. Even when stuffed you must try their made-on-premises creamy ice cream. So delicious! The wait staff was attentive & pleasant. Jorge was our waiter for the first couple of days & just the nicest guy always greeting us even when not assigned to our table. Although lunch was not in our plan there was a Deli at the Inn at Woodloch that we visited each day. Homemade soup was great & a large choice of made to order sandwiches The sandwich price was generally a reasonable $10 & for the amt on that sandwich & given the fact Boars Head cold cuts are used I felt that was more than fair. Those with a family could always buy cold cuts & fresh Italian bread from another deli/store by the gas station within the resort premises & make their own. Each room has a fridge. There were plenty of activities: Name that Tune, Minute to Win it, bocci, mini-golf, pedal boats still operating in this cool weather, Go-Carts, & these senior citizens even went into child mode & did the bumper cars! We tried archery which Kayne was manning. He showed the ”
“Reno’s is truly a hidden gem. The food is delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The people working it are good people who care about what they are doing and it shows. My family and I always enjoy what we get, and we have tried nearly everything on the menu.Whenever you’re in the area for fun or looking to not cook for yourself for an evening, Reno’s is an excellent and affordable option.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options!”
“Went there after the season ended, not knowing they were a seasonal place, and were greeted and welcomed into the owners home and ended up buying some things, thank you!!!!”
“We have been going to the Totem Inn for the last few months, mainly for the hamburgers. They are truly incredible. There are few contenders to the flavor, quality and enjoyment one gets when eating a locally sourced handmade special seasonings, real tomato and onion all on a unique branded bun. And not a sloppy eat like many othersPrice is great. We get the bacon cheddar burger. It's the real deal .The service is impeccIble and friendly.Highly recommend.”
“We checked out this place last night. The Hammered Steel burger was one of the best we’ve had. The staff was super friendly. Definitely coming back to try the pork chop.”
