Small plates : Meatballs, WCShrimp, Pork Belly Sausage all worth a try. Really a lovely dining experience. Thank you to Jack and the kitchen staff.

My wife and I had the pleasure of eating here on valentines day. We had an amazing experience! Everything from the cocktails to the pacing of the meal to the excellent service we recieved at the bar were perfect. I had a steak and my wife had the squash ravioli, both were delicious.

The food was flavorful, prepared and presented nicely. The menu is a bit esoteric. Secondary cuts of meats are featured, ie pork collar and beef tres major steak, strip steak or filet, not available. We ordered baked oysters, pizza and squash ravioli for shared appetizers and bass for entrée. All very good. Our server, Carey, was a bit sparky, even asking for ID for 62 and 60 year old customers. May be policy but a little odd. Cocktail service was a slow, waited 20 minutes for a bottle of wine. Food came out nicely and good teamwork by staff.

They had this two-person band playing instrumental songs throughout the night. The bartender was making exquisite drinks.

I miss them in the market before they moved and it shut. Their menu has expanded since then and their prices have as well. But this is a great place for a decent romantic dinner unless you sit with back to the leadge in the front corner by the booths. The middle open stool seats are not great either. Usually a seat at the bar or back stables are the way to go. It’s going to be expensive but about half the times we leave happy with everything as servers/bartenders are great. I’ve tried almost all the food on all their seasonal rotations and some are amazing and some seem to just be a rip off. Use to like the sun brunch

Oak delivered an absolutely outstanding experience on New Year’s Eve. The atmosphere was warm, elegant, and festive without feeling overwhelming—perfect for celebrating a special night. Every detail felt intentional and thoughtfully done.

The menu was perfectly curated, offering a great balance of creativity and comfort, and the food was exceptional from start to finish. Each dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. On top of that, the service was wonderful—attentive, friendly, and professional, even on such a busy evening. Oak truly made our New Year’s Eve memorable, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

My experience was very disappointing. I made a reservation for NYE 3 weeks in advance only to stand for 20 minutes before finally getting a seat. No explanation / no apology. They just ignored me at the front desk and told me to stand in the corner to wait. If it was not NYE - I would have left on the spot. Ruined our experience

We had a disappointing dinner but 5 stars for the appetizers, pizza, pasta and great service. We ordered the steak and the bass which weren't great and were very expensive, the steak was over $40 and came with no sides. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare but was still chewy. We will definitely be back but stick to pizza and pasta. I would avoid the expensive entree dishes, they look and seem like something you would get at a really high end place but just don't deliver. Pizza, pasta, and small plates were fantastic though.

In my opinion, this is the best restaurant in Hanover. The ambiance, homemade pizza and pasta, and thoughtfully crafted cocktails make it truly special. The pricing is surprisingly reasonable, and the cozy setting works just as well for a quiet seat at the bar as it does for gathering with friends.

Had quite the disappointing dinner this evening. We’ve gone two other times and have had good experiences, but tonight was just not up to par. The wait time was pretty substantial considering it really wasn’t all that busy (compared to the other times we have gone). We waited quite a while for our appetizer (plum and prosciutto) which was especially surprising, because there’s not a whole lot to it. It’s just plum on top of prosciutto with basil and olive oil. Nothing actually needed to be cooked, just thrown together on a plate.
Then finally, after an even longer wait time (around an hour), our dinner arrived. The server said the Chef apologized for the delay and that there were a lot of orders for the Wood Roasted Chicken tonight. My husband had ordered that, and I got the Blue Crab Capelletti.
Right off the bat, there was a significant portion difference between his dinner and mine. His being much larger. This is something I’ve noticed with Oak in the past, the discrepancy in portions between the
dinner options.
Immediately into biting into my dish, I noticed that the inside of the pasta, the crab and ricotta filling, was ICE COLD, and I mean ice, like it hadn’t finished thawing. While the actual pasta and sauce was warm, the filling being so cold made it completely inedible. Which leads me to believe that their “fresh pasta” that they list on the top of their menu, isn’t so fresh! Likely frozen, that they just heat up. I told the waitress right away and asked it to be sent back and taken off the check. She did so, and genuinely felt bad and apologized. She asked if I wanted anything else, but at that point, we had already waited so long for our food, I didn’t want to wait any longer. Ended up leaving hungry and frustrated. Hopefully this is just a one off. Not sure if we’ll return.

We had a disappointing birthday dinner at Oak. The seafood appetizer, supposed to be fried squid and shrimp, arrived as deep-fried shrimp with heads and shells still on. The picture on Facebook showed the shrimp without shells and heads. The tuna special was equally disappointing. It consisted of 7-9 sloppy, random pieces of raw tuna with sinew on a few pieces in a puddle of oil. The presentation was poor and unappetizing, and the flavor was simply bad. It was a shame because we had a great time last fall, but this time, we felt like we had been served by the “B team” cooks.

On a brighter note, the pizza was good, but the price of over $100 for two pizzas and questionable food was simply not worth it. The bathrooms were equally disappointing. There was no toilet paper or paper towels, and the trash cans were overflowing. The restaurant was also uncomfortably hot.

Unfortunately, this experience has made us hesitant to return to Oak. It seems like our last visit.

For Hanover this place is excellent, surprising quality. Pizza was decent with some interesting, high quality toppings, but I felt the crust was a little soft/underdone. The crispy potatoes were excellent, flavorful & nicely seasoned but the chunks were a bit too large.

Overall, your standard modern “foodie” restaurant that is generally surprisingly high quality for Hanover

My wife and I had dinner there this past weekend. Starting with the good, the service was great and the time to get our drinks and food was good.

My wife ordered a Tito's and diet coke and you could barely taste any vodka. It honestly tasted like there was no vodka in it at all. We mentioned it to the waitress when she ordered another one, but the next one came out the exact same way. Disappointing since this is a staple drink for her and had never experienced that at any other restaurant.

We ordered the pickled vegetables and deviled eggs for appetizers. Vegetables were really good, but the deviled eggs were soooooo salty we could not finish them. I did mention that to the waitress as well. You needed a gallon of water to get that salty taste out of your mouth. Then came our dinner. My wife had a veggie pizza, which was good, but not great and I had the $42 Tilefish and crab dinner. Again, way too much salt on that Tilefish dinner! I don't know why they are heavy handed with the salt, but it was certainly off-putting to be blunt.

We appreciate good local spots versus the chain restaurants so this was disappointing. We had been there before and had average experiences, but this was definitely one we want to forget. Hopefully our next visit will better.

Not sure why there are some negative reviews. We have eaten here time and time again since OAK opened. If you're complaining about the prices, then you obviously didn't look at the menu before you went. Where can you get food AND cocktails exquisitely crafted like this in Hanover? The food is always excellent. The owners (will leave their names out) work tirelessly creating unique flavorful dishes that always impress. Jake and Pam, well, where does one start. These two are true mixologists. Always pleasant, personable, professional, and extremely knowledgable not only about the cocktails they create, but the food that is served. The cognac and clove old fashioned might be best cocktail I've had to date; I'll wait until next winter and pray they bring it back! Oak never disappoints and I would recommend ten times over.
