During Lent Season, we frequent Big Mike's Crabhouse on a Friday, typically late afternoon. We try to beat the crowd, as this restaurant is not that big, but the seafood is absolutely delicious! Service is always excellent!!!! Big Mike's is a very relaxed atmosphere! They are a BYOB, so you can bring your favorite adult beverages if you choose to do so!!! If you choose to have an entree, but do not wish to have the sides, they will adjust the price! I love their cod fish (2 pieces), but don't always want the French fries, etc., they will serve you just the fish and adjust your bill accordingly. The pound of shrimp is always cooked to perfection, we have our shrimp served with melted butter and cocktail sauce, so delicious!!! If you're in Hanover and love seafood, stop by!!!!

I ordered the crabcake with 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp. Very good! I would recommend. I also got a cup of the seafood chili. It had shrimp, crab, & scallops. It reminded me of a Maryland crab soup crossed with a chili. I would get this again! I loved their broccoli. I felt the pricing was very reasonable.I will definitely be back.Staff was very nice, clean restaurant and bathroom. I also liked the fact that there was a pumice soap in bathroom. It was very helpful in cleaning your hands after picking crabs or peeling shrimp. Nice touch!Parking: Small parking lot in back of restaurant. Parking available on street as well.Wheelchair accessibility: There is handicap parkingspots in the back of the restaurant. It has a ramp that leads to an enclosed deck. This gives you seating availability either on the deck or inside the restaurant.
We tried their new seafood boil yesterday. Delicious! I couldn't finish it and gave the rest to my brother. The seafood chili is amazing as well.

It's been several years since our last visit here at Big Mike's Crabhouse. We decided to stop in around 3:00 since it's the start of Lent, and it was the perfect time before they get packed later on. Dining tables are limited and they also have a small dining counter to sit at. We were cheerfully greeted and we sat down, the staff members came over and got our soft drink order as we looked over their menu and specials on the chalkboard. Nice selections ! We decided on the Fresh Fried Cod Dinner for each of us and a 1/2 Pound of the larger Steamed Shrimp. You have several different selections for your sides with the dinner, we both got Fries and Coleslaw. The Cod and Fries were deep fried perfectly, the coleslaw was flavorful and fresh. We absolutely loved the Steamed Shrimp The food arrived hot and prepared perfectly The decor is standard for a Crabhouse, very clean. It was a very nice dining experience with outstanding service ! We plan on stopping back in during Lent and try some other foods, their crab cakes looked amazing and will be on our next visit. Yes, highly recommend Big Mike's

First time here as I'm not a seafood guy. I was so wrong for not coming sooner. The broasted chicken is great!We had a small get-together on the back porch. Plenty of picnic tables. Three tables was good for us. Our waiter was great. Remembering everyone's drinks and all.We got boxes of chicken, hushpuppies, crab balks, and fries. I didn't eat any crab balks but I was told they were great.

I was in Gettysburg and had a sudden craving for blue crab. Didn’t want to cross over into to Maryland so I found this place and the reviews looked good. It was only 20 minutes from the battlefield so I said, why not? I’m so glad I stopped by because the crab was some of the best I’ve had anywhere. They only had small but these small crabs were FAT and SO SWEET. They apparently don’t use Old Bay seasoning and use something called Jay O which to be honest tastes a lot like Old Bay, but the combination of the melted butter dipping sauce with the vinegar really brought the crab flavor out. Truly some of the sweetest and creamiest crab I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. Took some crab cakes back to the hotel for the next day and they were awesome eaten cold, so I can only imagine that they would be even better warm. Key Lime pie for dessert was also top notch. When I rhetorically asked where the crabs were from they were honest about them being from Louisiana (those in the know understand that this time of year all the blue crab comes from Louisiana), which I greatly appreciated. The place is BYOB and the ambiance outside was cozy with the lighting and space heater. They also have indoor seating. This place is a gem and definitely worth the trip for the crabs alone. Eating such delicious crab got me in such a good mood that I even gave a crab to a little boy who was drooling while watching me eat and practically begged me for one.
