I went there having a heart attack. I left after about 1-1 1/2 hours. No one took my blood pressure, etc. No one even checked on me. The gal checking people in was extremely inept, uncaring and had an attitude. I went to Upmc Hanover where they immediately helped me. I had 3 blocked arteries and had heart cath surgery to put in three stents.

I went to have a stress test done I had an allergic reaction to the meds were they took me to the ER because I was having lung failure. I felt safe because all the doctors and nurses in my room with me making sure that I would try to keep calm because I was grasping for air. I’m sorry I don’t know who my doctor was in the room I know she was pregnant and she stayed with me the entire time to make sure she didn’t have to incubate me. Needless to say everything worked out pr

Let me start by saying that I don't write reviews but I felt compelled to do so here. My wife had to have a cardiac procedure done and we were referred here by her primary physician. This was our first trip to UPMC. She was treated with the utmost care and concern by everyone we came in contact with. The entire staff is to be complimented. I highly recommend Harrisburg hospital! I found all the doctors and nurses there to be top notch... Skilled and compassionate. Some of them were truly living Angels! Last year, I was diagnosed in the Emergency Room by Doctor Mazza, admitted for 8 days, cared for by fantastic nurses and doctors...every one, then afew months later I was back for surgery by Dr Mazza who did a fantastic job and another 12 day stay, where again all the staff took great care of me. Nice facility, but who is the moron that designed the handicapped parking for the surgical unit. Get out of your car and have to step over a 12" curb to get to the building

Food is okay, there is a range of variety. A little pricey though, which is not uncommon for hospital food.
