Mel's did an amazing job catering a surprise 40th birthday party for us! So easy to work with, fair prices and did I mention the amazing food!??We did the pulled pork, bbq chicken, Macaroni and Cheese, and Green Beans. Most went back for seconds and thirds and raved about the food. See pictures of the Mac and cheese and the drink setup they did for us at the event! Highly recommended them for your event!

This place is the most disgusting, no flavor, warm dry noodles, “baked beans” were just beans, the chicken sandwich the best thing about it was the bread! Don’t waste your money

Sad sad sad. Simple canned beans, wonder bread and frozen chicken strips trying to pass as bbq. I could have got the whole meal from the frozen aisle at giant for 2 bucks. The fries were cold and the chicken was chewy. Awful meal and the only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because I am sure covid has something to do with it. But don't lie and say you are a bbq food truck if you aren't going to bbq.

Back when Covid just started, everyone was in quarantine. Food trucks made their appearance in residential areas. Excited, I went out of quarantine to stand in a forever long line. Thankfully my neighbor was there too. The food I finally received.... horrible! The chicken was way overpriced, and some foods were obviously microwaved. I've never thrown out a full meal before. Mel's Rocket N' BBQ was the first (and only) meal I have ever thrown away. It was so bad, I can't even begin to describe it. I have eaten bad food many times, but this place was the worst I've ever had. The next day, I asked my neighbor about her food. She said she threw it out too!

Mels Rockn BBQ truck came to our neighborhood. I try to support the vendors who take the time to come here. I made the mistake of ordering a cheeseburger with fries. Neither item was even warm let alone slightly hot. the tomato was a thin slice off the end of the tomato. Clearly the burger had been made some time prior to coming to our area and probably microwaved. Okay, I get that and if the taste was there I would not be writing this. It tasted like cardboard. The fries were the worst I have ever tasted. they had a taste I have never experienced with fries. I don't know what oil they were cooking them in but they were not edible. They must have been cooking the fries in wish another item. Nasty! Interestingly , they had the side down so you could not look into the truck as you can on most food trucks. Now my critique only applies to the burger and fries. I did not sample anything else on the menu. so it is possible I chose the wrong items. I am glad I did not tip when he asked if I wanted to leave a tip on the card. I wont be back since I don't feel like taking a chance on the other menu items.

Spent $75 for dinner yesterday on two racks of ribs and 3 of each side for 3ppl. Ribs tasted like they were cooked the day before then warmed. BBQ sauce was not tasty at all. Beans were bland and tart, green beans had to be from a can, but if so could have been seasoned or something, they tasted straight out of a generic can. Mac n cheese was ok, needed more season and cheese. A waste of money, because we still needed dinner after spending darn near $100. I’ll pass the next time the food truck comes to my complex.

Mel’s Rock N BBQ truck was at our local swim club. We decided to try it. NEVER AGAIN. After we got our meals home, while my daughter was eating her sandwich she bit into GLASS.

Just picked up 1/2 rack bbq ribs with baked beans and Mac n cheese, and chicken sandwich with cole slaw and Mac n cheese delicious! So glad the truck came to Baywood Drive Harrisburg!

I would give Mel's negative stars if possible. I am a disabled combat veteran with mobility issues, so I placed an order through Grubhub, about 50 dollars with drivers tip. Orders placed, app says 1210 delivery, tracker never moves off order placed. At 1212, app sings, order cancelled. Phone rings, its grubhub CS, apologizing about cancellation, says that Mel's cancelled due to being out of one of the items ordered. It's Friday, what food would be out at start of the weekend? Mel's is only. 1 miles from me, amble through the snow to the market they are in, walk to counter and ask" Hi, before I order,are you out of anything?" Girl at counter says no. I ask if ribs are available ( I'd ordered a rack on GH) she says no,they have them,but they cook them to order, how do you bbq ribs to order? I tell her I'm the GH order that was cancelled 20 minutes ago, she calls the owner forward, I ask why my order was cancelled, he starts that he knows nothing about it, as my voice was raised, instead of trying to explain or calm me, he starts getting angry and tells me I disrespected him and he would have addressed my issue but I disrespected him and that was that. So diner beware if you think about using this place.

The sandwich was very good. It was tender and their sauce options all have good flavor, but the sides may not be for everyone. The mac'n'cheese is more of buttered marconi with melted cheese on top.
