We were visiting the State Capital. We were looking for good place to eat. A short walk from the capital we walked in to Pastorante. Great food and service in a neighborhood location. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, fusili with pesto, squid ink pasta with shrimp and fusili with sausage peppers and onions. The fusili with pesto came with a salad, fresh romaine with shaved Italian cheeses and croutons. Each meal arrived hot and delicious. Enjoy a meal here. Serving size is perfect. I got the dinner portion and it was just right. The lunch portion didn't look any smaller. Just to remind, the pasta is homemade. Put this on your place to eat whether visiting or residing. PS the bread is from a local bakery and is delicious.

Food is so good. But check your order before you leave for take out. Even when they say “I packed it myself” open it up and check.

This is the 3rd time of visiting Pastorante and I’m never disappointed. I had the Short Rib Ragu with pappardelle. It was the most delicious pasta dish I have had in years! The staff are kind and sweet and I would recommend this place to anyone! Young and old …

The food was fantastic and the staff were all very friendly. As a former Top Chef contestant, I feel pretty confident in my judgment of cuisine. The pasta is evidently homemade and absolutely fantastic. 10/10 will definitely be back here !!

A very small dining area, got a little crowded on a Friday at lunch. Very noisy too. Beautiful live flowers in the front window but over all a simple decor, could use a touch of something more as it screams of a "takeout" business. Needs just a touch more modern flare to make it welcoming. The food we all had in our group was excellent! Very nice salad especially. Spaghetti & meatballs delicious, if you like the thinner homemade style sauce (I prefer the thicker sauce but this was flavorful). The waitress seemed stressed, but once we expressed some kind words and joked, she seemed to lightened up. All food came out in a very timely manner, except one person's who for some reason got his salad and then meal a little later (we actually had to ask for his salad, but it came soon after reminding the waitress). Over all, the prices are very reasonable, especially at lunch.

What an amazing place I stopped here for lunch break from work. It was my First time here for lunch and the food was amazing . I had the baked ziti with meat sauce and garlic bread with a house salad. The flavor was on point and amazing. The atmosphere was calming and relaxing. The dining area was very clean and it smelled good inside the restaurant. I will definitely be back to try other stuff on the menu.Parking: It's street parking . I would download the Harrisburg parking app to pay for ur meter .Kid-friendliness: Great atmosphere. Very clean, definitely kid friendly place

It was our first time here. Service was okay, not great. I decided to be adventurous and had the squid ink pasta, and loved it. I was worried it would be fishy or have an odd taste, but it didn't at all. One of our major disappointments was that they didn't have the oxtail ragu. That was the dish many at our table were planning on ordering. The sausage pasta was fine, just felt like something we could make at home, with the exception of the homeade noodles. We all agreed we wouldn't get that again, but made that choice on a whim when we learned they were out of the oxtail. We loved the bulgogi chicken Mac. It had such a unique flavor and was spicy and sweet. The mushrooms were good, but not something I would order again. I plan on going back to try the ragu. Prices were very reasonable for the food you get and the portions.
