One of the best hoagie shops around. It is always my go to when working in the area. My personal favorite is the G9 with hot peppers.

I've ordered Ruben sandwiches here for years.
All of the sudden they started heating up the meat and toasting the bread in a toaster separately.
I watch them make the sandwich in disbelief.
I paid $16 for a microwaved and toasted Ruben.

It's been hard for me to find a good pastrami sandwich in Harrisburg but I finally had a good one at the Sandwich Man. This place has a variety of sandwiches to pick and you pretty much can't go wrong with whatever you pick. The place has an old-timey feel, but I think that's the allure of the restaurant.

Unfortunately, this spot has changed. I grabbed a grinder here July '25 and it was half the size it used to be... probably the smallest sub I've ever seen. Quite disappointed. It's not bad, but it's no longer worth driving past other sub shops just to get their child-size portions.
Just great food every time!

If you want a sandwich, this is the place to go. They have been around for over 4 decades. Nothing compares
My favorite sub in harrisburg. Sucks there's only one location left but yes... best sandwich in town.

We stopped here because it had 4.5 stars on Google. The service was fine. The bathroom was dirty. The food was not great. I ordered an Italian. They asked if I wanted mayo on it. It came with ham and salami and no other meats. The cold cuts tasted cheap and the bread was dry. The price was around $10 per person, not including drinks or chips. In my opinion, the food is below average for the price.
Food was ok. The prices are outrageous I got 1 sandwich a 16 inch with just turkey bacon and melted Swiss and no extras, and the sandwich was 26 dollars. Also I specifically asked for a hot sandwich and it was given to me cold. I am not one to send food back as I don't wanna risk my food being messed with. The sandwich isn't anything special i could have gone to subway and gotten 2 full subs with soda and chips for less than what I paid I'm very disappointed.
I left Harrisburg over 40 years ago and I still crave this place and try to go every time I’m back in town. It’s a sandwich lovers dream! So delicious and there’s nothing like it in the state (except maybe in Reading Terminal market in Philly).
We stopped in at 6pm for a subs and the place looked desolate. No one in the parking lot, walked in and was told we are about to close. Not very friendly for a sub shop, I used to eat here all the time when I was younger. Not sure what happened to this place but I won't be coming back. Staff sucks, looks very dirty. Don't do it....
I really like old sandwich shops like this. It gives a vibe that the interior hasn't been updated in 30 years and it's a piece of History that's still serving it like it was back in the day. The food is just sublime. It makes the entire trip worth coming here even if it's out of your way. I recommend the corned beef. That's what they make there in-house and it's absolutely delicious, especially with provolone cheese. My dad got the tuna melt.
