Great healthy vegetarian food. Tons of flavor and variety. Staff really nice, helpful, and attentive.

I really hate to write such a negative review, but here's just a PSA to everyone that the food here is so bland, unappealing, and a big waste of your money. I love supporting local vegan restaurants so I was excited to try this place. When we got there they said they were out of the Mac and cheese and the fried tofu. While I was disappointed and looking forward to the mac and cheese I settled on getting the Philly cheesesteak (which was recommended to me by the server). My friend ordered the Chana Masala bowl. When our food came out I just stared at the Philly cheesesteak because it looked unappetizing and was questioning my decision. I finally took a bite and it was just so mehhh and it was mostly bread. The Chana Masala bowl had rice that was probably 2 days old and this white mayonnaise on top that didn't match the flavor profile at all. My friend and I didn't know what to do because there is no service. We wanted to grab a quick bite because we were traveling but we were left with confusion and disappointment by our meal. The chocolate chip cookie made me consider giving it two stars, but one star is fitting for this experience. The picture speaks for itself

We found this place online and were so excited to go there after a big doctors appointment. We arrived 30 minutes before they were to “open”, which the hours were online and posted on the door. We paid $6 to park and waited, and waited. Finally we called to see why the door was still locked. Whoever answered the phone said they would “prefer” that we order online and do carry out. IF THATS WHAT YOU DECIDE TO DO AS A BUSINESS THEN HOW HARD IS IT TO PUT A SIGN ON YOUR DOOR AND YOUR WEBSITE. We didn’t come to the city to eat in our car, so we went to another place and had a great meal. As small business owners ourselves we were very irritated . A little communication goes a long way.

Very frustrated how hit or miss this place is. I’ve eaten here close to 10 times now. Half the times, I left there feeling full and proud of myself for choosing to support a local vegan business. The other half of the times, the food was consistently “meh” or as it was today, which was a disappointment.I usually order the super food bowl. My bowl today was missing the spicy beet salad, the hummus, and the chickpeas. Those are my favorite parts of the bowl and that is over half of the components of the bowl. Now on to the service, I was left on hold for 10+ minutes. I ended up hanging up because I could hear that they weren’t even helping any customers at that point. I had to order in person. And the man in line behind me showed up for his take-out order only to be told it wasn’t ready for another 15 minutes.I really really wish this place was consistent and not as laid back of a vibe because it’s bleeding into the food and service.

Reaching Goals

3/4/21 Today's service was >favorable. I called for takeout and was told order ready at 525p. Mind you, I only ordered nachos*it's pre-made* and a cupcake. But when arrived (gave them 10 extra minutes) my order wasn't even ready and/or bagged. Get the takeouts or deliveries READY FIRST and work your walk-ins in between, as THEY NEED TO WAIT, too in the order of service!

We’ve tried Vegetable Hunter 4-5 times over roughly that many years, most recently today. We’re both vegan and live in Harrisburg where there aren’t a ton of vegan options. The food is consistently “fine.” I’ve never had something that was really good, and I think the cost is a bit high. Today I tried the “taco bowl,” which has more Indian than Mexican flavors. It wasn’t bad, and the portion was actually more than I could eat (In the past I’ve often left still a bit hungry). Mind you it wasn’t especially good, but it was one of the better things I’ve tried. My wife had the chicken sandwich, which is basically breaded tofu on a bun. I’d rather have a frozen Gardein chicken filet from an air fryer, and I can get three of those for less than her one sandwich. She also got a “kale salad,” which was some kale with a little dressing. There weren’t any other vegetables in the salad, just kale leaves. We also got a cupcake, which finally pushed my wife into never coming back (I’ve not wanted to return after every visit.) The cake itself was fine…maybe a little oily, but not bad. The icing was extremely buttery and had a gross consistency. The flavor was okay. Her first bite she’s pretty sure she bit into a lump of butter that hadn’t been mixed properly, and she said the icing had “split.”The staff were both very attentive and nice, and the decor has been improved since our last visit. I just wish the food wasn’t so “meh.”Try “Vegout” in Bethlehem for an example of what I wish we had in Harrisburg.

Got the chicken and waffles, banh mi, and coconut cornbread. Everything was great, except the waffles. They had an unsatisfactory texture. One was so hard that I surely would’ve broken a tooth on it if I had tried. Knocking it against the plate created a noticeable sound. In terms of the beverages, the rose cardamom latte was tasty.

Incredibly slow service. I placed my order to go at the register and saw only a single person working behind the counter. 5 minutes later another employee appeared to begin preparing food orders. Both employees worked very slowly and I didn't receive my simple banh mi sandwich until 20+ minutes after ordering. I had to ask at the register when my food would be done and the person who I had just talked to forgot what my order was and realized it was in his hand. He took 3 minutes to bag a cookie and 2 minutes to put my sandwich in a takeout bag...the employee making the food also seemed disorganized. The food was mediocre and not worth the wait. I didn't have high expectations considering I was ordering a Vietnamese sandwich at a vegan restaurant, but the tofu was bland and the sandwich lacked flavor. I could have made a better tasting one in a shorter amount of time.

What we got: Buffalo chickn sandwich - Eggplant Rueben - Mac n cheez - bbq mac n cheez chickn sandwich - salt and vinegar potato soup!!!! Everything was incredible. Thursday at 2:30pm we found street parking right out front. Because of the holiday week, only one guy was working the whole place so it was a slower experience but SO worth it. Plus they have a good selection of board/card games to play while you wait. An awesome vegan spot, right by the river. Cute decor and chalkboard wall.

We stopped at the Vegetable Hunter for a lunch on our way to DC and it was great! We had banh mi and crunchy sunflower sausage salad. Both were delicious! Our toddler enjoyed his Mac n cheese )

If you struggle with high blood pressure this isn’t the place for you to be dining at because they pre-seasoned all the food and while you thought you were eating healthy you’ll be sadly disappointed and you may have to visit your doctor after!
