There is nothing pretentious about the various Waffle House locations we have visited over the years - and this one is no exception. You get what you expect, which is good old comfort food without frills. What was exceptional here, however, was the quality of the service we received. Our server, Denise, was outgoing, enthusiastic, and informative. A midweek visit to the Harrisburg/Hershey area brought us to this Waffle House on a busy retail thoroughfare. Arriving about 9 AM, we missed the early morning diners and found a restaurant that was about 3/4 full. Coffee (don't expect flavored coffees or flavored creamers) and two breakfast platters piled high with eggs, meats, hash browns, and (of course) a waffle. The eggs were good, the meats fine, the hash browns (smothered, covered, and capped) were great. The waffle, which was topped with pecans, was outstanding and worth every decadent calorie. To top it off, we shared a large side of grits. If you have never enjoyed Waffle House grits before, do yourself a favor and order them. They are the best grits from any chain establishment you can find. Good solid food at a very reasonable price. Service that was excellent. What more could you ask for? Can't wait to head South again and visit a Waffle House.

I’ve never been to a waffle house before, and our server was so great! Kel provided service better than any fancy restaurant you could go to, she put a smile on our faces, was knowledgeable about everything on the menu and was so hospitable. Thanks Kel, for making our first waffle house experience a great one!

This was my first time at a Waffle House. Great experience overall, and the wait staff were nice! I was expecting mayhem, chaos, at least one shouting match. All we got was a clean restaurant, polite waitstaff and delicious food!

I like it here. The atmosphere was nice and calm mid afternoon on this day. The prices were reasonable. The service was good and the food came quickly.

I used to come to this Waffle House quite a bit about 15 years ago when I first moved to Pennsylvania, but life got busy, and I hadn’t been back in a long time—until recently. I stopped in last week and again today, and let me just say: Waffle House still has that special kind of vibe that’s hard to find anywhere else.

The food has that distinct Waffle House flavor you crave, the coffee keeps coming, and the servers always greet you with a smile and a story. Today, I brought both of my laptops and settled in at the counter to work for a couple of hours. I had a front row seat to the genuine camaraderie between the staff and their interactions with guests—it felt like being part of something real.

One moment, in particular, stood out. A server approached a family of Spanish-speaking guests and immediately began speaking in the most fluent, beautifully pronounced Spanish I’ve heard in a while. It was so natural and respectful, it actually stopped me mid-email. One of the mothers at the table turned to her and said in Spanish, “Wow, she speaks Spanish beautifully”—and I couldn’t help but turn around and echo that exact sentiment.

That moment reminded me why I chose to come back here. Out of all the places I can work from, I choose Waffle House because it doesn’t just serve food—it serves comfort, kindness, and connection. Thank you all for being the perfect start to my week.

Understand this is a 24/7/365 establishment, so the experience at 2AM on a Sunday morning after the clubs, will differ WILDLY from the experience eight hours later with the church crowd. Thats what makes it unique and worth coming back for. Food here, and at many other Waffles Houses I’ve visited, is always consistent and good. If you have a smaller group, make a point to sit at the counter and watch it all being made. The system of the waitstaff calling out orders, verbal only - no paper tickets for the cooks, and somehow it still comes out without mistake is really impressive.

It's Waffle House. If you don't know what you're getting go there and find out. If you haven't been, It's inexpensive diner food served fast, with the best hash browns around whether you like them smothered, covered, chunked, diced, peppered, capped, topped, or country.

Personally, whether at 10am or 2am, I like a double, scattered well, smothered, covered, and diced, with a side of sausage.

What? I like most about Waffle House, though, is that they give folks a chance, even if the applicant has a criminal record.

Anyone can learn to be one of the best damn short-order cooks in the world at a Waffle House.

We didn’t even eat. Sat down, pulled the menus from the edge of the table, and a pile (about 30) black ants poured out from the behind the menu and started crawling into the crack in the wall. Notified a waitress, she goes “oh god, I’m sorry….”

We left at that point.

Get them help. 3 people, between 12am and 1am on a "Saturday" night, tables can't be cleaned because they're too busy making sure the food is excellent and the many customers are happy.

Seriously, on my way to an appt and get breakfast togo. What's the use of giving you my order face to face, im charged for order, yet absolutely nttn I ask for was done. Ugh, this upsets me so dang much. No covered, no diced, no chunked and bland as water. I'm sick of people in food service not paying attention to quality control.
