I went on a Saturday night. It was clearly understaffed. There was one bartender and one server for the entire place. The bartender had to run food, serve tables, clear food, and process tabs in addition to tending bar. They did their best but it was understaffed. We waited 40 minutes for the following food. The food was hit or miss. The fries are fine, clearly from a frozen bag. The cheesesteak was fine, as it should be for $16. The major letdown were the wings. For $14, there were 5 tiny wings (cold and clearly not made to order), unsauced, with 5 tiny celery sticks and blue cheese. I understand that this is a neighborhood dive bar and I’m not expecting Jean Georges, but even this experience fell short. We will not be returning and hope that the new owner can work out the issue with staffing, food quality, and value.

Nigel made me an amazing Christmas burger and Greg is the best bartender in the area.

This is just my opinion as someone who has been here before and after the renovations and new management. Before the changes, I would have given this place a 5 star rating. Actually as a former student of a local college, I was recommending this bar to everyone I knew during a time where I didn’t know any other students who went there. I wouldn’t do that anymore because it’s now lacking most of the things that differentiated it from other bars in the Bryn Mawr area. I feel like this isn’t the type of place that needs a cocktail menu, actual glasses, so much staff working at once, etc. I miss the jukebox, pink bathroom, regular crowd (I’ve been out of the area for a while but I recently visited and the vibes were just different, it wasn’t like everyone knew eachother though to be fair I was there on a weekend night that might attract more different people), and REDBULL. This place used to be legitimate dive bar and now it’s a regular bar/restaurant using dive bar aesthetics owned by some guy who already owns a bunch of other restaurants. It’s just depressing to see this happen. But to be clear, my complaints aren’t at all relating to the bartenders and other staff… I have nothing negative to say about the staff especially Kevin.

Best burger on the mainline. Absolutely love this bar. It's the classic "Cheers Theme Song" bar.

Friendly, casual neighborhood place. Mostly regulars, but visitors welcome. Burger and fries were excellent. Sports on TVs but not too loud for conversation.
Absolutely embarrassing service from a bar in the hear of the mainline. I went to roache and O’Brien’s with 3 of my friends on a quiet night to drink. After presenting all of our legal forms of ID, we were refused service because 2 of my friends did not have their school ID. After showing the bartender numerous other forms of identification, he adamantly refused to accept anything less than a school ID.This is on top of the bar smelling horrible, the excessive vaping inside, and unfriendly crowd. Will never be returning to this bar but I’d imagine the board of health will shut it down before I had the. Chance to.

Classic Irish Pub, great food, great prices, great people.
Order the cheeseburger...
Did not eat here though the burgers looked good. Great OLD school place, mostly intact since the Depression era renovations. Inexpensive drinks, friendly atmosphere. Don't expect a wide selection, not that kind of place. On of the last of its kind on the Main Line.
