Not-so-fancy TVs for Philly sports. Friendly and chatty staff. Diverse and mostly friendly crowd. Jukebox. Open early, closes late. I could go on, but you should simply go to see for yourself!”

Bonus points for being incredibly family friendly- we were offered a high chair right away when we entered, and everyone on staff was extremely kind and sweet with our one year old daughter. “I would give 6 stars if I could!!! Such a great addition to Havertown! The food is delicious, love the vibe and the service is amazing!!! The pineapple express wings were AMAZING! I saw some instagram stories saying to get them and our server Marissa (who was the sweetest by the way) sealed the deal by saying awesome they were- she was right!!! I am not a huge wing person and could have eaten 20 of them! The guac is so good and fresh; served with warm chips. My husband and I both got fajitas- shrimp and steak, soooo good! Also the cucumber marg was great, strong (not mad about that) and delicious! Adding this in because my husband is a huge sports guy- the Phillies ended and within minutes they put on March Madness games- no awkward gap where you're watching infomercials for hours (it is his pet peeve haha). So happy that Al Pastor is in town! Can't wait to return!”

“This place has been on my list for some time and I was fortunate to visit at a downtime. Amongst a city full of pizza shops, Down North stands out among the greats. ENVIRONMENT The restaurant is relatively easy to find and seats no more than 5 or so people in the shop. The wait was a tad excessive which I credited to the food being "made with love". FOOD I love a good piece of focaccia! Another contributor commented that their pizza can be likened to focaccia which I would find to be incredibly accurate. The "Detroit" style was incredibly flavorful accompanied by a heaping of toppings(I settled on the "I'm A Boss"). I will admit the fries left a bit much to be desired but not enough to influence my rating. If you're based anywhere in North Philly between Farimount and Erie Ave, I can confidently say Down North is among the top three picks for the area. Happy eating!”

“Went last week and had an amazing experience especially the assistance we received from our waitress and the pastry chef. I had the one of the special entrees of the day- duck breast and since I’m not drinking, their lavender lemonade was both cute and tasty. A little tart, but very lemonadey. My husband got a ton a stuff that I don’t remember, but he enjoyed every drink, appetizer ( it was a tuna bonbon special) and entree. I’ve driven past this place for years, so it was great to finally pop in. Added bonus, located in northwest Philly which is such an amazing part of the city.”

“This was a special dinner, a nine year anniversary of a relationship and we had a lovely time. The food was excellent, the service, efficient and unobtrusive and the atmosphere was good. There was unobtrusive but agreeable music. It had a distinctive atmosphere for me, reminiscent almost of 30s movies and I would recommend it for a memorable evening. When we went it was obviously prom time at a local school. Being a former Brit, this is not an experience I ever had and it was nice to see the formality of the students.Kid-friendliness: This is likely not a place to expect crayons and paper mats to colour in, but well behaved kids seemed welcome. It is an grown up dining experience and if you are trying to socialise your children, this is a good place to come to.”

Maybe this is an old location?Onto the chicken cheesesteak. I got one with fried chicken tenders inside, lettuce, and I think they put some kind of hot sauce as well. The bread this comes on is incredible. If you want anything HEALTHY, DO NOT come here, I’m reading that it’s deep fried bread. Whatever they do to it, I could’ve ate it alone. The fried chicken inside is seasoned well. It’s kinda too much and falls apart as a result but who cares, eat some first with a fork then eat the rest. I got fries here but they were just okay. I want to come back and try something else.”

“We were there for lunch, loved the food, especially the short rib pizza, and I usually don't eat pizza. My friend thought there was a little too much cheese. Never. I had some sort of crab pasta. It was ok, not loaded with crab like the waiter said. My friend had a salad, no complaints, but the waiter had to be asked to refill our water and tea, and we had to wait to get his attention. It wasn't busy. I loved the tiramisu. The waiter packed up our separate "to go's" nicely. I would definitely go back, lots of interesting things on the menu.”

“From the tasting to after the wedding, Bredenbeck’s was amazing! The cake came out EXACTLY how I expected it to. It was beautiful! And it tasted amazing! All of my guests really loved every layer (each one was a different flavor). We had a small issue with the filling but Bredenbeck’s rectified the issue right away and took accountability! I look forward to visiting them for another cake order in the future!”
