McKenna's Kitchen & Market, formerly the Irish Shop, is a sincere nod toward the fact that there are more people in Havertown who claim to be Irish, than there are in Ireland. Sitting on the corner of Darby Rd. and Marthart Ave. this Havertown staple is a twinkling jewel kissed by Emerald Isle.
McKennas Kitchen Great food and service.
Fast service. Friendly attentive staff. Delicious food. I had the McKenna Burger and my partner had the Vegetarian Bean Burger. We were both very pleased. Good fries also. Highly recommend.
Been here for lunch and breakfast over time. McKenna's is consistent for me. Whether the Irish fry breakfast or short stack pancakes the dishes are served hot and are tasty. I have noticed that one person in my party is usually served last and "late". Meaning 2-4 minutes after the rest of the group.
As a good ole Pittburgher with and Irish heritage, McKenna's is gold. Every time I visit Philadelphia, I stop at this restaurant for delicious food and grand service. The interior is a rustic homage to Ireland with a hipster vibe (i.e. drinking out of Mason jars). The servers have been pleasant and they know what they're serving.
One of my favorite breakfast spots. Friendly service and great fresh food.
McKenna's kitchen has a wonderful home feeling and friendly staff. The food was okay, but we love that we have a place near our home where we can get an Irish breakfast. For me, the ambience and the staff makes the food better and we will return.
One word is all that's needed to describe this eating establishment, Delicious! My son would rave about the lunch that he had while working in the area. So i decided to try it for myself. Wow, great staff and great food. The pics below are of the Chicken Claire dish, scrumptious. Definitely a great "date" restaurant for an early bite, or just a general "let's go grab a bite to eat" kind of place. Worth the trip and come hungry.
My wife took me to this nice little spot for a midweek breakfast. It's one of the few places that will serve up a full Irish breakfast, and McKenna's surely puts the "full" in it: eggs, rashers, sausage, black and white pudding, baked beans, potatoes, mushrooms and tomato with a little brown bread on the side. It wasn't crowded yet at 8:30 on a Thursday morning, and the food came out promptly and was delicious. Looking forward to coming again.
McKenna's is a wonderful cozy Irish restaurant. The food is delicious and service excellent. I recently tried smush as a side dish and loved it! I'm looking forward to going back soon.

Excellent home cooked meals. Potato soup is rich with nice bits of bacon. Try the Shepard's pie. Have to wait a bit but welll worth it.
What kind of breakfast place is closed on a Sunday, your biggest breakfast day of the week. Not impressed, food was very plain not very good. Did feel guilty about the very cheap prices. Not bad if you consider the price
