Have to say the place was very cute and had a home like feel to it. We sat down and ordered our drinks THEY WERE SUPURB Thank you to the bartender I think his name was Rich. Our waitress didn't smile or seem like she wanted to be there. We ordered our food but I hate to say it wasn't very tasty at all. I will be back though for those delicious drinks and music. Hopefully next time the food will be better.
Was so excited to try this place! After seeing so many positive reviews, sampling the pulled pork on Saturday, and viewing the brunch menu, I honestly thought this was going to be a win. My husband and I walked in at noon on a Sunday and was told that the chef was still sleeping and he could not provide anything from menu. I completely understand staffing issues and being patient. However, how does an establishment promise on a Saturday that there’s this wonderful brunch and then be a complete ghost town the next day?
Fantastic restaurant! Not a large menu but the food is phenomenal. It's definitely a go to restaurant with great cocktails, food, music and wonderful atmosphere!
OUTstanding service and delivery of beverages, food, etc. 100% Enjoyed and recommend for a good, dining experience. Rich, was AWESOME. With me, and other guests in the room! Rock on!!!
Cute place! I can't speak for the food because we just sat at the bar for a drink but others seemed to be enjoying their meals!
A friend of mine invited me out for dinner and karaoke. It was my first visit and I was impressed by the friendly atmosphere, stylish decor and excellent service. I ordered the spring rolls and they were delicious! Karaoke was also fun! It wasn’t intimidating at all, even for someone like myself who hasn’t sung before an audience in YEARS! I was also impressed with its cleanliness. All in all, I definitely recommend you visit this restaurant.
An absolute must if you are in the area. It would succeed even in Philadelphia. Cozy but not quaint! Cocktails are superbly mixed by the bartender; food offerings are novel takes on classic modern fare. Don't think portion sizes suffer due to the quality ingredients and thoughtful recipes. Staff is hands-on and want to make your stay memorable. We had a party of eight and they still nailed everything.
My wife and I had heard very positive things about Sylvania Social so we decided to celebrate our anniversary there last Saturday night.......the restaurant itself is very quaint and intimate......the staff was friendly .....the menu is very unique and interesting......we started with the pork belly appetizer......the meat was crispy and the sauce was excellent......we also had salad with lentils which was fresh and we loved the dressing.......my wife had the lamb lollipops and I tried the scampi......the lamb was cooked as requested and tender and the scampi was different than any I had had and really quite good......we finished our night with a crepe .......overall it was a very enjoyable evening and we were so glad we gave the Sylvania Social a try........
Came in on Saturday with some girls for my bachelorette party. We came in early around 5 for some pre dinner drinks and appetizers, sat outside and had a relaxing time. Everything was good and it seemed like a great place. After we paid our tab the owner came out and tried to get us to stay for dinner and offered us a toast and something special for me (bride) if we returned. We apologized and said we had to make out dinner reservations but that we would be back for another drink and dessert after. On the way out one of the girl staff members told us that the kitchen closed at 9, but that she could easily still grab us dessert after that. We returned at about 9:30pm and got a round of drinks. Asked if we could place an order for dessert and the bartender told us he was scared of the kitchen and would not take our dessert order. We were upset because that was what we returned for. Owner came over and asked us if we were the bachelorette party that was in earlier in the day and we said yes and he walked away and we didn’t see him again. We quickly finished our drinks because of the empty promises of a fun time if we returned. No special toast or dessert that was mentioned earlier (that we happily would’ve paid for). Icing on the cake was we saw another table getting dessert delivered to their table as we were walking out the door around 10pm. Main takeaway: they’ll try to make you feel special so that you spend money there when in fact service is sub par and drinks are expensive for how mediocre they are.
Quite possibly one of the disappointing meals I have had in a while. We got the Ruben eggs rolls which were the best part, but nothing amazing. The squash flowers were soggy but at least had tasty dressing. The mussels were absolutely repulsive. For $15 we got 8 mussels. It came with a cheap baguette not even toasted and without butter. The cocktails left a nasty aftertaste in your mouth. We had the lightly battered fish which was soggy and tacos which had some flavor but were dripping in grease. Wish I had read the reviews here first and not google. The service was okay but not very professional for the price point. They're trying for sure but the prices don't match the quality of food or service. Not sure how they have so many stars on google, read Yelp for more accurate reviews as I made my decision based on google reviews.
