La Isla Mexican Restaurant

When we first got there we were immediately seated, but it took 20 minutes just to get a waiter for our drinks. We waited over an hour and a half for our food to come. The people next to us actually got their food and left without even touching it because they had waited so long and were really upset. The waitress was not only serving the tables in the bar area, but was actually doing the bartender servicing as well. She definitely seemed overwhelmed. Food was bland and all around just not somewhere we would go again.

Stopped for a snack while Christmas shopping. Supreme nachos and margaritas. Perfect addition to a wonderful day with good friends

Poor experience. Service was terrible and slow. Food portions for chicken fajitas were so small. Too many better options than to go here again.

I normally choose to dine at the other Mexican restaurant in Hermitage, but went with family for lunch the other day to La Isla. It was pretty busy for lunch on a weekday, but we still had no wait.

I was surprised by how cheap their lunch options were- I had the Burrito Grande and it was $7.99 for everything you see in the picture! I had enough for a second meal, though I didn’t think I would at first, but that’s also probably because I filled up on chips and salsa. The salsa is more blended compared to other places I’ve been, and I don’t particularly enjoy chunky salsa so that’s a win.

I typically choose dishes at Mexican restaurants with shredded beef options, which La Isla does not have (at least on their lunch menu), although they have chopped beef, which is not as good in my opinion. For the burrito grande, I chose ground beef and it was pretty good.

While the food was good, I don’t think it was as high quality as the other restaurant’s, and the flavor profile was simpler and not as stand-out “Mexican”. It was a good meal, but not one that stood out and encourages me to come back.

This used to be our go to restaurant, but between it taking FOREVER to get your bill when you were done eating to the poor choices in what is on their televisions, we have after 20 years of supporting this place, decided to go elsewhere. Food is erratic too as far as quality--good one time, just okay the next. It seems like it started to go downhill after the original owner died.

I ordered sizzling fajita, and my mom ordered nacho fajita, she however, got the same thing I got. It was burnt, couldn't chew the meat, the fried jalapeños were layered in oil, I couldn't eat them either. My stepfather said it was the best place to eat, so in honor of him, we chose this place, will never be back there. A wasted $50.00

Great food, large portions, great price

Definitely my favorite place to eat around the area! I typically get the Jesus Special (along with many other people). The service can sometimes be a bit slow if they’re busy. More recently I’ve gone when it wasn’t busy with a group of friends and they ignored us for multiple moments at a time. They’ve been wonderful many times at La Isla, and I know the workers get busy so I don’t mind. Just a heads up incase you need to be in and out, definitely order online. Online ordering is just as easy, accurate and tasty!
