The website indicates it closes at 2:30 pm. We arrived at 2:07 and wete told it closes at 1:30. After driving an hour to get there, we were surely disappointed.
Love this place! We have lived in the area for years driving by and never really noticing it. We now think it’s one of the best surprises in the area and we try to go several times a month.
Honesdale is really fortunate to have this quality of food in town. They aren’t open evenings so it’s really a brunch/lunch place and it’s small so they often have to turn people away so plan ahead and get there early and you won’t be disappointed.

Love the owners. So sweet and personable. I'm going through the complete menu one meal at a time. Have not been disappointed yet. Will return as often as possible.
such an amazing spot! great cappuccino perfect temp with nice espresso! we got eggs benedict and the nova bagel and had to try the tiramisu! the food was so fresh, flavorful and perfect! that was the best tiramisu i’ve ever had!
I can’t overstate how terrible our experience was here. And judging from the owner’s responses to negative reviews here, I’m sure they’ll discount this one as well, but beware. I could tell immediately upon sitting down that the grumpy woman running the front of the house was annoyed that my wife and I walked in with our 2 young kids. The service was a little slow, but not egregiously so. The food was also pretty tasty, though the waffles my kids ordered came garnished with parsley (?). My kids are admittedly picky eaters, so obviously that didn’t go over well. I was just baffled by the decision to put parsley on a sweet dish. When I went to pay for our food, I politely suggested they lose the parsley on the waffle dish, the grumpy woman rudely told me I should tell the chef directly. When I said I thought she could relay the message, she brought the chef (also grumpy) out and I repeated what I had said to her. The chef responded (also rudely) that he’s been “doing it for 20 years” and “there wasn’t any parsley on the actual waffle” (there was). As we were gathering our things to leave, the woman actually said this to us, “Can I give you a suggestion? You should pay more attention to your kids and less time on the computer” (my wife works remotely and was sending a work email on her laptop). She also suggested my kids were badly behaved (they weren’t, minus a
mini freak out about the weird parsley). I was shocked. On our way out, I put a tip in the tip jar and said that I was still giving a tip even though we were being spoken to like that, and the woman said something to the effect of “Well, you weren’t going to.” My wife and I both worked in the restaurant industry, and we’ve never experienced anything like this. I’d avoid this place like the plague. There are several other cute places for a bite in the area where the staff treats their customers with respect.
Best French onion soup I’ve ever had. Followed by the best turkey and Swiss I’ve ever had. What a treat!
Beautiful place, friendly people, delicious food - all at a very reasonable price. Orders, though, are taken at the counter. And no tap water (although a local sai that was a good thing since the water is allegedly 4th worst in the nation).
This place is a gem. Anything you order is perfect. I had a lobster bisque that was perfect. The pieces of lobster were not too large or too small. Gathered in the center of the bowl. I ate the bisque first, and snag a piece of lobster every other spoonful. Hmmmm. Even the parsley on top was perfectly chopped and fresh on top. My wife had a smoked salmon salad. She loved it. We go on Tuesdays when every other restaurant is closed for a special treat.
Woman who took our order was not friendly.
Experienced her on prior visit.
Although the food was good, it was priced above what we received.
Coffee was not fresh brewed, so not hot.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! The atmosphere was very relaxing, the food was delicious and neatly plated. You can tell the chef took pride in making this food. I enjoyed a great cappuccino and saw they offered affogato (my favorite & also impossible to find in NEPA). I can’t wait to go back! Definitely a gem of a place. You wouldn’t even know you were in PA when you enter. The restaurant had a cozy European feel to it. Exactly what I’ve been looking for since I moved here.

Small and poor decorated and laid out. Woman watched me wait for her to finish her conversation for about 5 minutes and then a full hour before their listed closing time they apparently stopped serving food. She offered me a pastry which clearly had flies in the case. I declined as should you from stopping at this rude small and somehow posh and elite place. Since you replied allow me to mention……. it isn’t mentioned on the internet that you don’t serve food after 1:30pm. You were not polite about it and didn’t apologize. I am a local and you gave me a look like I was not who you want in your place. Had you been in anyway interested in my business, you could have since, it was exactly one minute after your unlisted stop time offered to make an exception. You respond to each review of others telling you how great and how authentic your French cafe is. You are snide with anyone who reads your face as unfriendly and unwelcoming. If it isn’t just me writing that perhaps work on your subtitled face and update your operational items on google. Best luck and you definitely didn’t have 100 people in your place today.

We happened upon this local gem while meandering through the area. The owners are lovely and the space is charming. The husband (the master chef) serves up salads, mains, lobster rolls and pastries (and perfect baguettes) with equal skill and care…while the wife makes you feel like you’re extended family within your first five minutes.
Try the Maine lobster roll, the canard aux poivres, smoked salmon salad with potato latke, literally any laminated pastry, and the pistachio cake.
