Food was really good. Currently not serving alcohol due to ownership change, I recommend calling ahead, hopefully not a deal breaker for you. They believe they will have that taken care of shortly. Super friendly staff/ management. I’ve have tried the cider in the past, might be worth the wait for you.

Food and service was good. Unfortunately they were going through some changes when we were there and weren’t serving beer

Friendly service and great space in a historic building, would recommend it to anyone visiting Honesdale. Didn’t try the food but the Maple ale as well as the Cider Doughnut ale where both unique and delicious, not to sweet, and the smoothness you’d expect from an ale. Will be back!

More of a bar feel than brewery. The beers were all too sweet though! Bartender was a local and super nice. He knew a lot of historical information about the brewery and town.

TLDR; This place charges premium prices for concession stand food. The staff was awkward but nice, the beer selection was sad, the food was mostly just reheated freezer food, and the environment was eclectic but as low-quality as the food. Everything about this place screams "LAZY".Staff & Environment:Upon walking in there is no real direction as to where you're supposed to go. After looking around for a couple minutes we were greeted by a young boy who was working as the bartender. He didn't say anything to us - he simply beckoned us over to the bar area, which was around a corner. We asked for a table instead of the bar and he said, "Sure", disappointedly, and handed us two printouts of daily specials/brews. The table was clean but the tray which holds seasonings and napkins in the center of the table was filthy. We were the only customers with the exception of a young couple at the bar.It took a little under 5 minutes for the bartender to come back and ask what we'd like to drink. He did this by standing behind me and saying "hey" - this is how he got our attention. We placed our drink orders which came to us about 6 or 7 minutes later, along with an apology from the bartender, stating that he thought he'd already brought our drinks. The food:POUTINE - Frozen fries topped with gravy and mozzarella cheese. There were supposed to be cheese curds but those were "forgotten". The gravy was peppery but excellent. The fries we slightly undercooked...definitely from a bag of frozen pre-cut fries. (2/5 because the gravy was good)CRABCAKE SANDWICH - Is actually a burger. Mediocre crabcake patty on top of a potato bun pretending to be challah. The dressing was ok, the 1 piece of lettuce and 2 small red onion slices were fresh. The coleslaw was fine and the waffle fries were also clearly frozen but fried more successfully than the straight-cut poutine fries. (2/5)18-HOUR BRISKET - The BBQ sauce tasted cheap and the brisket wasn't smoked for 18 hours...and if it was, then it was at too high of a temperature because it was almost as tough as skirt steak. No obvious smoke ring, the fat cap wasn't melting (I had to chew the fat which I instead spat out), and the portion was NOT 1/2 lb. Closer to 1/4 - 1/3 lb. The coleslaw and waffle fries were the same as the Crabcake "sandwich" and the store bought roll that came with it was probably the highlight. (2/5 because even if it's bad it's still BBQ brisket)The beer:RIP'S PURPLE MAGIC - Their best product. Wheat beer with berries. The berries are more tart than sweet, giving this beer sour vibes. (4/5)The other beer I had was out-of-house and I can't remember the brewery, but it was a maple beer. I asked the bartender if it was a wheat, an ale, or a lager and he said "yes". So I don't know if it was a lager or an ale but I'm going with ale. (2/5 because the maple flavor was clearly artificial)

The beer was great, the food not so much. I understand that bison shouldn’t be cooked to death but it shouldn’t be raw either. Why do they bother asking how you want it cooked if it all comes out the same? Had bison burger with “spicy” chipotle. They must have forgot to add the spice to the peppers this burger was very bland, some seasoning while cooking would help a lot. The bottom roll was completely soggy with blood halfway through eating this burger that was cooked medium. Been here before many times, doubtful I’ll be back

Loved the cider donut ale! Their beer is always good. The pulled pork sandwich with waffle fries and pickles was so good! They used to have this amazing duck burger that was my fav.

Awesome!! Had the cold cider, it was sooo good, wings were nice and crispy, fish and chips was also very good, as was the Cliff burger. Bartender was wonderful, sad that I did not catch his name, but very attentive. Loved this place, will be going back more often.

Although this place lacks ambience, both of the dishes we ordered were excellent and my choice of beer, elderberry, was equally good. The wait staff was prompt and friendly and we couldn’t have wished for more.

Im not sure how other people had such good experiences at this brewery. Was welcomed with an unfriendly staff upon arrival, tables were covered with leftover beers/food, and cleanliness was not a priority. For being a brewery, their beers were a rating of a 2 out of 10. I'd say if you are looking for good beer or someone who likes breweries, you can go ahead and skip this one and head down the street to Here & Now. Such a shame too, I was here a few years ago and enjoyed myself but it seems that it is not that same anymore. More of a local dive with other companies beers on tap.

We stopped at this brewery yesterday after giving them a call about bringing our dogs along. Simple answer, you sure can as long as they are on a lead and behaved, so we did and had a great meal and beers. We got appetizers and shared them between 2 couples, glad we did because the portions were large. I got the bowl of chili, great flavor, my wife got the Irish Nachos, the cousins ordered the onion rings and mozzarella sticks. All had great taste. The Summer Camp Honey Ale, the Elderberry Ale and Honesdale Pale Ale were a few of the ones we enjoyed.Highly recommended brewery.

Owner was super nice. Allowed us to park while we walked around town. When we returned for food and beer server was the rudest server I’ve ever encountered. When we began ordering he became very frustrated that a number of us wanted to order flights…at a brewery. ? he told us we would need to be a lot faster because 5 flights would take him like 20 minutes to poor. Ciders were really delicious and beer was also pretty good.

Customer service was garbage and they seemed inconvenienced that I brought my 5 year old son. The bison burger was fine but nowhere near $16 quality. The tap list was small and my partners purple hazy beer was separated like sour coagulated milk. The brisket "dinner" tasted like stew and had a weird gravy on it. All in all, 1 star seems generous.

Super nice folks. Great Harvest Host site. Very nice town. Food was good. They have an assortment of beer including 4 of there own and roughly 8 others. Their beer was consistently excessively sweet. The Summer Camp Honey ale was my favorite with obvious natural honey flavors, and I thought floral notes included camomile (but none in recipe), but again, it's sweet. That said, I certainly enjoyed it. They also had a nice selection of Victory ales including Prima Pils and Summer Love blonde ale with American hop character. These two were my favorites. The owner had time to visited with us outside and made us feel very much at home. I also enjoyed the quick hike up Irving Cliffs in the morning which is almost exactly 2 miles round trip from the brewery.

I have been wanting to check this place out for a while now and stopped in on a Monday afternoon. Ordered a flight and the meat lovers brisket which was shared with my husband and daughter. We all enjoyed our beer selections and the brisket was really tasty. Will definitely go back the next time I'm in Honesdale.
