This has always been one of our favorite restaurants. Service was prompt and food was excellent.
I had called Otto's before making this reservation to see if they were serving Father's Day breakfast and I was told that yes they would be open for Father's Day. When we arrived on Sunday morning we were told that they were not serving that day, that it was only a buffet and was $15/per child. We decided not to stay and went elsewhere and were disappointed that we were not told ahead of time about buffet only.
Otto's appears to not be what it once was. It was our first visit and unfortunately last. Though the waitress was very nice, the food was mediocre and restaurant "tired". Being a German Brauhaus, we ordered German specialties, but disappointed in the quality as the meat and was overcooked and who knows where the Red Cabbage came from. One of our party order the pork loin and subsequently suffered a night of visiting the bathroom many times and missing work the following day. The next day she said she thought the meat tasted a bit off. The restaurant has great potential but definitely needs new management and a facelift.
Horrible food. Burnt clams casino, chicken and veal were both hard, tough to chew. Would not go there again.
The food was good and the service was wonderful. It's closing soon and will be missed.
Overall, not a really good experience. We arrived at the restaurant at 8:30 AM however they did not let us in until closer to 9 AM. The restaurant was dated, dirty and looks like it could use a deep cleaning. We were the only table in the restaurant and there was only one waitress. It took forever for her to get us a menu, take our order and get us our food. The outside of the restaurant was dirty, grass was not cut and pretty much looked abandoned. I will not go back to this restaurant. Just a guess, they look like they are going out of business.
Mother's Day- This restaurant really needs an update and needs help as a lot of tables were sitting around un bussed to the point of just looking dirty.
Authentic German food and style to this classic. Has the feeling of something stuck in the past but that's the charm. Food and beer were perfect for this small restaurant.
Snapper soup and french onion was the best ive ever tried. Beer is incredible, ordered the Schnitzel and sausage. Everything from the coleslaw to the potatoe pancakes was incredible and made with love. Cannot wait to go back again

food was good but just warm not hot. service was very slow. our beers were just sitting waiting to be delivered to our table and we got up and got them ourselves.
Food was horrible. The pork loin with gravy had no flavor. The broccoli was over cooked. Greasy potato pancakes. The Cesar salad was over loaded with dressing. My friend had over fried chicken tender and cold mash potatoes. The soup was like warm. The waiter was dry with no personality. Never going back!
I haven't been to Otto's in a while and they usually had good food but my latest trip was a nightmare! My brother and I ordered hot roast beef sandwiches with potatoes and it was terrible. The meat was not sliced roast beef but chunks of beef (pot roast?) and it was cold! The gravy looked curdled and I'm guessing both items were leftovers that they put in the microwave then served it. While I'm sitting at the table, I look into one of the banquet rooms and I see a mouse scurrying along the floor. After a few minutes I see another mouse in the other banquet room that almost ran into the table where we were sitting until my brother stamped his foot and it ran the other way. I called the waiter over and he said they were having trouble with mice and pointed out the sticky strips to catch mice along the heat baseboard. Needless to say, I will not be going to Otto's any more!
Loved this restaurant! The Hungarian Goulash was absolutely delicious. I was so sad to hear that it will be closing. There are no good German restaurants around and this place is just perfect plus it's been around for as long as I can remember.
I ate here a couple weeks ago only to find this gem of hatboro will be gone soon. My heart is sad if you have a chance and want some good german homemade awesome food and atmosphere ! Catch them before they're g
