Fire & Grain is always amazing! My team has dinner here every year at the expo and they are always accommodating for our large party and the food is amazing! My team looks forward to our dinner every year.
Our waiter was great, we also arrived during happy hour which was good timing! Nice & clean restaurant with open kitchen!
Convenient for The Lodge hotel. Good menu and bar service. Food was very good service timely and efficient. Noise level was high for our liking...
For a restaurant in the Hershey Lodge it was what you would expect. It is pricey for what is offered and service level outside of a major city for a family restaurant is ok. Menu is actually creative, but execution of the ideas lacks quality. Example being a 4 slice flatbread appetizer where the toppings are only on 2 of the 4 pieces. Still it was fine, just not worth the check.
The food, service and overall experience does not match up with the reviews or pictures. Food was ok, drinks terrible and service was bad (and the restaurant was not busy at all). Will not return, and will highly recommend anyone I know not to go there on their Hershey trip.
My salmon was cooked rare to perfection. This was our second experience and it did not disappoint!
Food and drinks were really gross, the lettuce was really old and looked to be picked out of the dumpster.
All of the apps were great. Entrees were just ok. Kinda disappointed in the food. Booked it for a final dinner with the family.
The food was decent but the service was very slow and it was definitely overpriced for the amount of food you get especially considering it wasn't the best.
We had a fantastic time, and every aspect of our dinner was excellent. We were there early and enjoyed happy hour prices on appetizers and drinks. Great place for a family dinner.
Restaurantji Recommends
There is a good range of items on the menu. I had the blueberry mint mojito which I thought was very good. For my meal I had the cod piccata which I thought was also very tasty. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere with a large fire place and bar. It's not a huge space but can accommodate a good number of patrons.
Hershey Lodge promises a memorable stay in the heart of Hershey, but my experience left much to be desired. While there are certainly some positives, several critical shortcomings mean I cannot recommend this property. Check-In and Restaurants Upon arrival, the check-in area immediately sets a positive tone. Staff are welcoming and efficient, and the lobby space is well maintained—an inviting start to the stay. The on-site restaurants also stand out as a major plus. The food quality is solid, the variety is impressive, and service is attentive, adding an enjoyable aspect to the overall experience. Rooms and Hallways Unfortunately, the impression quickly declines once you move beyond the public spaces. The guest rooms and hallways feel extremely dated, with décor and carpeting reminiscent of a funeral home—somber and uninviting. Externally, the building’s appearance evokes the look of section 8 housing rather than a resort, which is both disappointing and misleading based on the lobby’s first impression. The contrast between the common areas and the accommodations themselves is stark. Location and Shuttle Service Prospective guests should be aware that Hershey Lodge is located over two miles from Hersheypark. While the hotel does offer a shuttle, transportation is far from convenient. With traffic, the ride can take up to 45 minutes, although typical travel time hovers around 20 minutes. At peak times—especially at park closing or first thing in the morning—waits for the shuttle can extend to 20-30 minutes. This logistical inconvenience adds unnecessary stress to what should be a relaxing visit. Additional Concerns My room was situated directly outside the designated smoking area, which meant that each evening was accompanied by the distinct smell of smoke drifting into the room. To make matters worse, conversations from smokers gathered outside continued well past midnight, disrupting any hope of restful sleep. Overall Impression While Hershey Lodge may boast appealing common spaces and good dining options, the dated and uninspiring rooms, inconvenient location, and noise/smoke issues overshadow these positives. Based on my experience, I can only give Hershey Lodge a 2-star rating. I would not recommend staying here, especially considering the many alternatives available in the area.
Great for families. Food is good and reasonably priced. Noise level was energetic as there were lots of families with small children.
We were staying at the Hershey Lodge for 1 night for a concert at Hershey Stadium and decided to eat dinner here before the concert. We all had different flatbread offerings for dinner. They were all very good. I had the shrimp and risotto for an appetizer which was excellent. Service was spot on and our waiter, can't remember his name but was from Virginia, was very attentive and went above and beyond to give us an enjoyable dinner. Also got us information on the shuttle service as well! Would definitely go back.
The bed has no fitted sheet, instead they use a regular sheet and it's not long enough to tuck it in. All night long the sheet will move and expose the plastic mattress pad. Spoke to the staff and I was told there is nothing they could do. 2700 dollars for 6 nights and they cant afford a fitted sheet.
