We made a last minute decision to go out new years eve, my fiancé has celiac, so we found 1762 through her app. Being last minute, we uhhh didn't make reservations.
I've never had a host work so hard to find accommodations for us, just random people that showed up on a busy night. Not regulars, not well known, just everyday folks.
While we waited the owner Dave came out and introduced himself to us, thanked us for coming out, and told my fiancé everything she could and couldn't eat on the menu, he also has celiac so this was heaven for her.
Within about 15 minutes they had seating for us at the bar, and Jess our bartender had menus and drinks for us.
Let me stop here.
THIS WAS THE LITTERAL BEST STEAK IVE EVER HAD AT A RESTAURANT. Before there's second guessing because of the drinking holiday, I was the designated driver. I cannot recommend their food enough.
Dave periodically stopped by and chatted with us while he helped behind the bar, Jess was a great entertainer, and the food runner was even sociable and we shared a few jokes. Couple that with our great front door hosts, and I don't think you could have a better staff experience.
10/10 cannot recommend enough.

Found this spot through the Find Me Gluten-Free app, and it did NOT disappoint! The owner even stopped by our table to introduce himself—he’s GF too, so you already know the food is going to hit. I wish I had snapped more pics of the appetizers, because everything was amazing. It’s been forever since I’ve had gluten-free calamari and it was a full 10/10. And the crab cake meal? Straight fire. 🔥

Stopped in yesterday for dinner prior to Starship and Heart concert at Giant Arena! Great menu selection. Margherita Shrimp Flat bread, Mexican Street corn dip appetizer and Amish Chicken for entree. And a Makers Mark bourbon and ginger ale over ice.
And visit to the table by the owner David.
Worthy of a trip to Hummelstown.

1762 is an absolute diamond. As someone who travels often, finding good food that I can safely eat gluten free is not always easy, so this place was such a refreshing find. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, and the staff were genuinely kind and welcoming.
The owner was especially great on the phone when I called for reservations and took the time to chipperly reassure me that there were a plethora of gluten-free options available for me, while still offering plenty of “regular” options for my significant other 😂 something that truly made dining here feel effortless for both of us.
Great food, thoughtful accommodations, and a space that feels cozy —1762 knocks it out of the park. I’ll absolutely be back and will be recommending this spot to anyone looking for delicious food in a welcoming environment, especially those navigating gluten-free wanting staple comfort foods (that crab cake! Sheesh!) 💫

The 1762 Kitchen and Cocktails is a quaint little pub located in Hummelstown, a town just outside of Hershey, PA.
I enjoyed the creamy corn dip, flavorful truffle fries, and crispy calamari.
The mashed potatoes served with my entree were creamy and tasty, as were the shaved Brussels sprouts and six grilled shrimp which accompanied my sirloin steak, which was advertised as coming with a blue cheese sauce, which I didn't get and was too tired to ask about after enjoying some of their happy hour cocktails!

This place is absolutely incredible! The owners have truly taken the time to perfect every aspect, from the hospitality to the delicious food. My husband and I wish we could go to this place for dinner every night. Everything is freshly made and they even offer options that are gluten free!

From the moment we walked through the door, our experience was incredible. As we walked to our seats, the owner, David, made his way over to me and welcomed our party and shook my hand like we were old friends, even though this was our first visit. Our waiter, also named David, was dressed as the owner since it was Halloween. This goes to show the fun and light hearted atmosphere that is fostered here. The menu is incredible and the only problem is you actually have to make a choice and cant just have a little bit of everything. Our meals arrived quickly and perfectly. The flavors were bursting from every bite. To top it off the cheesecake for dessert was possibly the single greatest piece of cheesecake I've ever had. Rich, creamy, smooth...perfection. Every minute of the night was filled with laughter, great food, and impeccable service. I would highly recommend going here, and I will be back!
