What a great Google find during our stay in the area! Very much worth the 30-minute trip. I was impressed by the creative selection of tasty dishes in a chilled vibe. And the servers were delightful as well. We'll be back!

We had a big selection of starters and mains and loved everything. The only not-stellar thing was the milkshake but we were so happily filled up on everything else it didn’t matter too much.

Found in Google Maps on our way to Latrobe from the Flight 93 Memorial. Patio area next to tiny parking lot and dining room to the side. Very surprised to be asked if we had a reservation. Luckily there was a table available. Noticed that others brought their own bottles of wine. We ate homemade lamb sausage bucatini and pan seared barramundi. They were outstanding! We then shared a caramel apple cheesecake and I feel like a Fat Squirrel. Will stop again if we come back this way again.

The Fat Squirrel is such a hidden gem in Somerset County. The menu is always unique and full of dishes you don’t typically find in the area—things like ramen bowls with the perfect egg, sweet potato rice bowls, beet pizza, and other creative recipes that go far beyond your average burgers and mac and cheese.

Another huge plus is that it’s BYOB with absolutely no corking fee, which makes it even better. The restaurant is set in an old ice cream shop, giving it a quirky, unique vibe, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

If you’re looking for something different and memorable in Somerset County, The Fat Squirrel is definitely worth a visit!

This place is a hidden gem. The food was out of this world! Now I want to live there and try everything. Or just eat the cheesesteak mac & cheese forever. Ridiculously good!

One of my all-time favorite restaurants. My partner doesn’t even need to ask where I want to go for dinner for a special occasion or a special treat, it’s here! The menu is super inclusive and eclectic, and the food is wildly delicious and elevated for the price 😍 I would recommend to anyone. Such a hidden gem for the area, you would never expect the level of culinary excellence they have a achieved! There is something for everyone here đŸ”„

It was an awesome experience and the food is definitely different from other places
I just chose a undesirable choice. They made it right though. Dessert was top notch and wonderful. The workers ate extremely pleasant and helpful. A good suggestion would be to make a reservation. Parking is limited and very tight.

This place makes me proud to be an American. If people knew how good this food is there would never be seating available. One of the best quality-of-food places I’ve ever encountered!

So sad that my new favorite restaurant is 3.5 hours awayđŸ«€
But it will be the new meetup for dropping off or picking up our Ohio grandchildren from Philadelphia.
Creative healthy menu with so much variety. Kind of wacky and offbeat- the food and the space!
