The good: An above average fillet in a historically significant building. The bad: Everything else. The atmosphere was dark and hot. We both had a light sweat by the time we left. Be prepared to be talked down to. The owner's attitude created an uncomfortable experience. We were not offered a menu or prices. You are told what is available. You do not get a choice of sides. There were 4 entrees to choose from. Each came with a baked potato and a few leaves of spinach. This was preceeded by a few pieces of bread with oil and a small side salad. Nothing extraordinary or special, very basic sides that require no effort or culinary expertise. The fillet was good; I've had better. The "blue ribbon" lump meat crabcakes were small and dry. We had one drink and were never offered another. No menu, no prices, and hand written bills. Be prepared to pay whatever the owner feels like charging. I guess you better hope that this rude man deems you worthy. Our bill for the few things mentioned above was $170.00. Totally overpriced for the food and experience. I have cooked in 6 different restaurants and dined at almost every restaurant in town. For price versus service and cuisine, I would rate Tony Stella's near the bottom. I recommend trying any other restaurant in town where they understand fair pricing and fun loving hospitality.
For the concerned customers of Tony Stella’s Encore, the restaurant is not set to close on May 9th. Tony Stella will be winding down his thirty-year stellar restaurant legacy sometime within the year. But in the meantime call ahead for reservations and book this one-of-a- kind dining experience with one of the finest restauranteurs in the area, while you can.
Absolutely great high end food and service. Open weekendsSadly...Encore will be closing May 9th.I will be there to bid farewell to Tony and the best food in Jim Thorpe. Carbon County PennsylvaniaSo so sad to see this restaurant close
Long story short was going out with reservations, restaurant was closed for COVID did not let us know. Now where too? Tony Stella’s fit us in with no reservations. Absolutely charming restaurant. Tony was the perfect host! Great food, Good time! Thankyou so much for accommodating our group!!

This is a tough review to write. The place is beautiful. Service excellent. Food very good. But prices are crazy. Ordered a 10 oz Lobster tail with crab meat on top. Baked potato and spinach came with it. That was the plate. Price wasn't discussed (there was no printed menu) but I figured how much could that be? 40? Maybe $45? When we got the check I saw It was $90... Really? Didn't even come with a salad. Wife and I split one crab cake for an appetizer. She had a steak (again, no salad was served). Nothing else other than one drink for me and two glasses of wine for her. The bill was $245 before the tip. So, nearly $300... Very nice place but frankly, as good as the food was I left with a bad taste in my mouth. Won't be back.
I've been to Tony Stella's twice, both times the food was fantastic. I will point out that on certain holidays they have a reduced menu of only a handful of special meals. (Picky eaters beware) Tony makes his rounds and works just a regular employee, taking orders and checking in. As with every business in Jim Thorpe, parking can be a bit problematic.
We arrived a little early for dinner and got to share some time with Tony as he wined and dined us in style. He put his heart and soul into our whole experience. The scallIops, crab cakes and sea bass were on par with a fine seaside restaurant. We will make the two hour trip again!
Right from the start Tony made us feel both comfortable and welcome, just like we where old friends. This was one of the best dinning experience we had and we have been to a lot of great restaurants over the years. Food was over the top great. Steak was done exactly to my liking. Don't change a thing.
Everything about Tony Stella's is exceptional. The food, atmosphere, staff, drinks, service. It's all top notch. Tony and our server Phil did everything that they could to make our night extremely enjoyable. Try the crab cakes you won't be disappointed. Before or after dinner, stop by at the Absinthe bar. You will be glad you did!

The crab cake was amazing! Very elegant dining. Super friendly staff. Too full to try dessert but definitely will next time!
Wow! Our weekend trip to Jim Thorpe, Pa was so incredible. We found the best restaurant in town...TONY STELLA ENCORE! The ambiance was romantic and service was top notch. We were treated like family from the moment we stepped into the establishment. Tony Stella himself greeted us and he is so welcoming and friendly, he made our evening extra special. Once seated we removed our masks and enjoyed a "Stellatini". The music playing and lighting of the dining room was perfect. Everything on the menu sounded excellent and we decided to order the ribeye entree and the crab cake entree. The food was delicious & picture perfect! Phil was a thoughtful and very attentive waiter. It was such an awesome experience we went back the next evening for the homemade pasta dishes (Chicken Marsala & Chicken Piccata)....we felt like we were in Italy! We will be back again before Christmas just to eat here again! 5-Stars for sure!
Every moment of this dinner was fantastic. The drinks were great, the food was amazing and the service was so incredibly personable. We went for our anniversary and Tony made it an unforgettable experience.
I can’t believe we found this place in the middle of Jim Thorpe, Pa. Unbelievable!! From the seating and Stellatini to start, to the Crab Cakes and Bone-in Ribeye, everything was perfect. Top it off with Banana’s Foster and a little notch of the belt notch fix, what can I say about going off the diet? Tony the owner and Phil our server made our experience one we won’t soon forget. A gourmet experience to repeat. Thank you Tony.
Craziest thing. My wife and I walk in for the first time with our masks on because of the current rules everywhere. When we were greeted we were approached by an employee who told us to take off our masks immediately. Ok, no problem. But he preceded to tell us that he didn't want to offend us but they don't wear masks because they are all republican here. That's great, but not sure what that has to do with anything. Was looking for a dining atmosphere and instead I walk in to an unprofessional atmosphere. Then I was told to wait in a room where everyone was on top of each other with no masks. None of the employees had masks or gloves on either. Ummm... not taking any chances. We left!
