The Harry Packer Mansion Inn

My wife and I just stayed at the Harry Packer Mansion for the weekend. The house is wonderful with amazing views of downtown Jim Thorpe. The staff were so friendly and breakfast was really good. Don't hesitate to book a room there, you'll enjoy your stay!

We didn't stay in the rooms. We visited the mansion for a murder mystery dinner. It was wonderful fun. Actors are great. The food is flavorful. Mansion exterior is beautiful and inspired a disney castle.

The antiques are beautiful. Maddie was so much fun to talk to, too. There are nice gifts in the room and we were grateful for the parking space.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Murder Mystery weekend at the Harry Packer Mansion. The mansion is beautiful and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure every guest is having the best experience they possibly can. The performers are fantastic and make you feel fully immersed in the experience. Even if you don't go for a murder mystery, you have to experience this place!!

We stayed for the murder mystery weekend and it was amazing! Had a great time and would definitely come back again. The staff is wonderful and accommodated my food restrictions.

We’ve attended both the one night murder mystery dinner and the weekend long event, and each time is better than the last. Would HIGHLY recommend the weekend long event, great stories, great drinks on the veranda, friendships made and just so much fun. The staff and actors are really what make the events, some truly spectacular people. Staying in the mansion really lends to the atmosphere, and the guests are so well taken care of. Cannot recommend this place enough. And can’t wait to come back again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Harry Packer Mansion Inn—the Mansion is stunning, beautifully maintained, and rich with historic charm. The staff was exceptional: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

However, the Murder Mystery Weekend event was a significant letdown. Attending a murder mystery has always been on my bucket list, but this experience was not a true murder mystery—there was no apparent murder to solve. The direction from the actors, while entertaining, was vague and confusing. By Saturday afternoon, I felt lost and ultimately gave up trying to engage with the storyline. The promotional materials were misleading, leading to disappointment, especially since this was our main vacation for the year.

I highly recommend the Inn; however, the Murder Mystery weekend would benefit from improved communication and stronger execution.

I loved staying at the Harry Packer Mansion! The staff were a true highlight of the experience, they were all incredibly kind and accommodating. I was there for the murder mystery weekend and I had a blast! The rooms were beautiful and quiet. The location only gets 4/5 stars due to the fact parking is difficult and you have to walk up a giant hill if you walk downtown and come back.

Staying at the Harry Packer Mansion was a special treat. We were treated so kindly. The staff were amazing. We requested plant-based meals and they went above and beyond to make sure we had a delicious meal. We stayed in the carriage house. Our room was cozy and had everything we needed. Also the murder mystery event was spectacular. The performances were on point and included you on the fun. I loved staying here and didn't want to leave.

Not what you expect and not as nice as you should expect

This is the spot to stay in Jim Thorpe, PA if you’re looking for that old time feel and amazing views. Staff was amazing the entire weekend we stayed here. Breakfast is good for fueling up before a long day of exploring. Drinks on the porch are a must as well. Rooms are spacious and very easy to relax in. The hill from downtown to the Inn can be tough but just take some breaks and snap photos along the way! Thanks for a great weekend!

A beautifully preserved mansion located on a hill — I recommend taking a walk up to it

This place is amazing! Beautifully restored. Staff was superb. Food and drinks were excellent. We did an amazing murder mystery there. One of the best we have EVER done. And we have done a lot of them. The owners, Kathy and Tom, came out and sat and talked after the show. They are lovely and so interesting. We will definitely return.

This place was amazing and Naomi made the entire weekend extra special. She took care of us from the moment we arrived. Naomi is an amazing employee in an amazing mansion.

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at the Harry Packer Mansion. We both had an incredible experience at the Murder Mystery! So much fun! Our suite was cozy and comfortable. The friendliness of the staff was impressive. Thank you Maddie, Abby and Naomi! We will be back again!
