We had an amazing experience at the Harry Packer Mansion! The facility is incredible and the location is perfect, but we were most impressed by the friendliness and attentiveness of Naomi, Maddie, and Abbi. We will definitely return.
Food and drinks: Great breakfast and drinks on the veranda!

My wife and I had an absolutely amazing weekend stay at the Harry Packer Mansion. The staff were welcoming, friendly and so attentive and helpful. The mansion is a beautiful treasure in Jim Thorpe. The murder mystery dinner was great. The actors were too notch and pulled the guests into a great who-done-it story based on the history of the Packer family and the village of Mauch Chunk (Jim Thorpe). We will definitely return.
Rooms: We stayed in Harry’s Suite. It was very nice. There were no televisions in the 19th century therefore there are no televisions in the mansion. There is wifi and the rooms do have hair dryers and usb charging ports.
Nearby activities: Jim Thorpe is a great little town with plenty of shops to look in, great places to dine, and lots of things to do.

Had a recent weekend stay during a Murder Mystery Weekend performance with my mother. We both thoroughly enjoyed the performance, and found it to be top notch. All actors played their parts well and stayed in character. Didn't feel like a cheap dinner theatre or high school performance. Interactive and well played out. The aesthetic of it taking place in a mansion sealed the deal. We stayed in the carriage house and found the room to be spacious, well taken care of and nice. Breakfast was decent enough. It was commented that if you are a regular at bed and breakfast establishments it may fall short as it is a buffet of normal breakfast items (eggs, sausage, potatoes, pastries and juices), versus a tailored homemade breakfast. But in reality given the number of people that usually book then the decision to do it this way seems logical. Location is prime, given you are a 5 minute walk down the hill to the main street shops and fare. Would highly recommend and seriously considering for a girlfriends trip next year. With that said two suggestions (1) please put Wi-Fi information in rooms, we had to "figure" this out as it wasn't mentioned in check-in and no information provided in room. (2) clips for curtains, our curtain didn't meet in the middle and we faced the road, had to use a duck paperweight to keep it closed.

Just in time for Halloween!
Perched atop Packer Hill in the village of Jim Thorpe, this place was used as the model for the Haunted Mansion at Disney, whose interior is anything but spooky.
After our tour at Asa Packer, he later built his son Harry a mansion next door as a wedding present in 1874. The mansion's impressive facade could have been taken from a Gothic novel, so much so that the building's design caught the eye of Disney Imagineers where my partner, his aunt and I came to take some photos last Saturday.
The Harry Packer Mansion Inn is open for lodging, tours on weekends, drinks at Libations Lounge, and, of course, murder mystery. Fifteen-foot ceilings, marble fireplaces, and gilded mirrors reflect the elegance of the Victorian Age. If you are in the area, it’s a photo op.
Highly recommend The Harry Packer Mansion!
We recently celebrated a 90th Birthday party at The Harry Packer Mansion. I can’t say enough about the wonderful service for our event. They paid attention to every detail to make this day so very special. The beauty of the mansion is breathtaking. Cathy, Maddi, Vittoria and Tom were most gracious. Thank you and we will be back.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars for my review because this was THE BEST bed and breakfast we have ever been to!
HUGE props going out to Naomi-as she was what made our stay even more amazing! Her upscale service, personality to make you feel at home, and above and beyond service was simply…Impeccable! Even her little sidekick Abbi was the sweetest and is obviously learning from the best!
The rooms are clean, spacious, sparkling, and richly detailed. We enjoyed learning the history of Harry’s mansion and Naomi made sure to give us the inside scoop of “what to do while in Jim Thorpe.” Appreciated!!!
It was so hard to leave today-as they made us feel like family. If you are reading this post and even for a second are wondering if this is the bed and breakfast for you…
It is.

We did a murder mystery weekend. We stayed in a second floor suite. Just beautiful! Spacious and very nice. Water was hot for the shower. The murder mystery was top notch and a lot of fun. Parking is tight . Bring small vehicle if possible. Breakfast was good but nothing special. The dinner was also good but just average. A better breakfast would have made the weekend top notch. This was the only thing that was lacking. I do recommend this mansion to stay at. A great town, Jim Thorpe is just a short walk away!

Was a super pleasurable experience. Words cannot express my gratitude to the staff. They made us feel right at home. While we came to Jim Thorpe for the train ride, which was nice, the stay at the mansion became the highlight of our trip. God-willing, we plan to make this an annual tradition now. May we see you all again next year.
