Overall a very enjoyable meal. Friendly staff. Good portion sizes relative to the price, particularly for the appetizers.

Very nice atmosphere, live music, and friendly and helpful service. Unfortunately the food was subpar. The duck was tender but too fatty. The seafood in the Fra Diavola was overcooked. The mushroom ravioli was mushy and not al dente. I really wanted to like the food because everything else was very nice, including the wine

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner. We arrived early and were seated promptly. Al, our waiter, was attentive. My husband ordered turkey with the trimmings, which he enjoyed. I ordered the Maple teriyaki encrusted salmon which was excellent. The desserts were delicious- apple crumb cake and flourless chocolate cake. The background music was live and not intrusive. While the restaurant was fully booked, we didn’t feel crowded. We will be back!

We had lunch here. We were able to get a table with the windows open overlooking the street on a nice fall day. The atmosphere was nice. Service was on point. We ordered a pizza and a burger to split. The burger was Juicy and the meat had a great flavor. My husband ordered a Coke and I think our bill came to like $42 so it was very inexpensive for the quality of food. Considering we took half of pizza back with us to go.

Since it's the capital of mushroom production in the nation, you have to try the delicious mushroom soup as an appetizer, and the three-meat pasta. and fritada. The service was good.

Our server, Cheyenne, and the manager, Sandra were absolutely amazing. They went over and above to satisfy our requests. Sandra even helped us get tickets to the Kennett Flash. And the food!! The food is absolutely delicious. Cheyenne helped us choose the perfect wine. The chocolate dessert was decadent. But not too sweet. This has been the best dining experience we have had in years! I highly recommend coming to Portobello‘s in Kent Square!

I moved to Kennett last year and Portabellos was one of the first places I tried. From my first time going in on a busy night without a reservation with my young daughter, it was so lovely as Sandra fit us in and we had such a good meal. We have been back many times since and it is always a wonderful experience. Sandra and all of the staff always makes us feel so welcome. The food is awesome, the chef gets high quality meats and the pizza is wonderful too. My favorite is the steak entree. It is a great, local spot.

We literally just left from Portabellos and I just had to write a review. We drove 3 hours to come here. 4 years ago we came here for the first time and I was never able to find another place that had duck as good as from here.
Not only was our entree amazing but the service was fantastic. We came here to celebrate my birthday and a nice gentleman sang happy birthday for me after our lovely waitress brought my desert with a candle.
The manager was very nice. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a great birthday.

Great place to have a first dinner in Kennett Square. Marissa was an excellent server. Mushrooms soup was awesome, as was crispy duck entree and pumpkin cheesecake.

Chose Portabello's on the stellar reputation of their mushroom soup (of course, you gotta experience the local delicacy!) DON'CHA JUST LUV IT WHEN YOU'RE SO RIGHT ABOUT SOMETHING!!!?? The soup was as amazing as expected but the total experience was 5-Star. Entree's were as creative as the soup, the ambience was Friday-evening perfect! Had a fine discussion with chef that left us glowing with appreciation (officially - NO! he did not give away any secrets! ... officially). What a great experience! Go, Go, GO!!!!!

This was my birthday dinner party of four. First the waiter looked like he needed more training. He spilled the wine on my menu as he poured my glass. And the wine was pretty bad. But the worst part was my dish, seafood Fra Diavolo. The pasta was one lumped piece all stuck together. I had to separate them with my fork and knife. The worst part was it was sooooooo salty. It was inedible.
The waiter brought the manager to the table and she tried very nicely to replace the dish. They brought me a new one within like 3 minutes. Second time the pasta didn’t seem as salty so I told the manager it was fine but when I took the second bite it still was too salty and that’s where it ended.
Other three dishes my girlfriend and the kids ordered, ravioli, chicken parm, and stroganoff were at best below average.
They brought us a free dessert with a candle on it and the piano player came to the table and sang a birthday song for me. That was very nice. And the manager was trying hard to make it better. But at the end of the day what mattered was the food. They were simply bad.
Just one other thing. There were many open tables in the main dining area when we walked in and until we left. But for some reason they seated us in the other area near the kitchen that are divided from the main dining area. We didn’t like it. The atmosphere there was very different, kind of like a diner restaurant. I feel bad for the waiter and the manager. They were trying hard to make it better for us. But I’m sorry. The food was bad!!!
