The ambiance is cozy and the service is attentive. The kitchen accommodated multiple food allergies for me and still created a beautifully presented, delicious meal. A live jazz artist made the atmosphere lively without overpowering our conversation. This is a lovely spot for a date night and appropriate for a professional outing.

For a full year now, Portabellos has been our Friday night go-to, and we keep going back for multiple reasons…here are my top 3:
Coming in at number 3: the drinks are festive for whatever season we happen to be in. My current personal fave is the eggnog cocktail (for the holidays), but the peach orange blossom cosmo is my go-to when it’s not the holidays. And you can’t go wrong with a glass of their finest Tempranillo!
At number 2: the food is always top notch. My personal faves are either the Firecracker Shrimp or the Beet / Goat Cheese salad as an appetizer; the Salmon, Tuna, or Burger are amazing entrees (always a tough choice!); we have also tried every dessert they have for a taste of something sweet and have never had a bad bite!
Now…both of those alone should be enough reason for anyone to be confident in wandering in…but the number 1 reason we keep coming back are the people who work there and the service we receive. Sandra and Brett and wonderful hosts who welcome us every single week, and we look forward to sitting with Cheyenne every week, though every other server in the place - Jamie, Marissa, Ben, Erica - also goes above and beyond to treat us like family.
Thank you, Portabellos, for every Friday night we’ve shared and for all that are still to come.

Wow! What an outstanding restaurant! Absolutely beautiful decor. Decorated for the holidays a with beautiful trees covered in white lights and red cardinals.
The food was outstanding. I had the Tuscan bean soup with a side of grilled asparagus. Both were excellent and very tasty.
The waitress was very attentive and engaged in small talk making us feel very welcome.
We are in Kennett Square for three more days. We will visit this venue one more time before we leave. I need to take a bigger appetite so I can try one if their entrees. The food being served to others looked really delicious!
There is a lovely bar if you want to stop and enjoy an adult beverage. I highly recommend this beautiful location.

Overall a very enjoyable meal. Friendly staff. Good portion sizes relative to the price, particularly for the appetizers.

Very nice atmosphere, live music, and friendly and helpful service. Unfortunately the food was subpar. The duck was tender but too fatty. The seafood in the Fra Diavola was overcooked. The mushroom ravioli was mushy and not al dente. I really wanted to like the food because everything else was very nice, including the wine

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner. We arrived early and were seated promptly. Al, our waiter, was attentive. My husband ordered turkey with the trimmings, which he enjoyed. I ordered the Maple teriyaki encrusted salmon which was excellent. The desserts were delicious- apple crumb cake and flourless chocolate cake. The background music was live and not intrusive. While the restaurant was fully booked, we didn’t feel crowded. We will be back!

We had lunch here. We were able to get a table with the windows open overlooking the street on a nice fall day. The atmosphere was nice. Service was on point. We ordered a pizza and a burger to split. The burger was Juicy and the meat had a great flavor. My husband ordered a Coke and I think our bill came to like $42 so it was very inexpensive for the quality of food. Considering we took half of pizza back with us to go.

Since it's the capital of mushroom production in the nation, you have to try the delicious mushroom soup as an appetizer, and the three-meat pasta. and fritada. The service was good.
Excellent brunch before visiting Longwood- service and food were amazing- thank you Ben for making our brunch perfect - well done !
