Can't really ask for more from bar & grill. Lots of selection, not standard boring bar fare. Mixed drinks & beer selection was strong. Would definitely come again.

I took my kids there for a luncheon the food was expense and just bland at best, the service was good and so was the atmosphere, i started with a french onion soup that tasted like hot brown water. I would not recommend.

We were over in Jim Thorpe and had no idea on a Sunday night it'd be impossible to eat without reservations lol. I had this saved on my yelp and called up being told to hurry on over :P So we hurried and of course as I was nice holding the door open for people, they stole a table we could've gotten. But the woman working there jumped right into helping and got us another table which was awesome. People who work here deserve major props. That woman saved our night, the host? Food was also one of our best meals while on vacation over here. The lemonade omg so good. This was the perfect last dinner on our vacation. Nice looking place too. Plus wifi! I wish we had stayed here by the fireplace because we had no idea going back to our rental, which had no power!

My wife left her sunglasses on the table on a Saturday night. I called the next day they said they had them but they didn't know where they were. For a whole week the sunglasses were magically missing when they originally said they had them. A week later I finally got them back bent and scratched. The manager said they just reappeared and she doesn't know what happened to them. Moral of the story make sure you keep your stuff close by when you're in that restaurant and don't trust any of the staff members. The best part was there was blonde broken hair stuck in the hairpieces that had a striking resemblance to the managers hair, she’s a brunette.

Great food, good service and nice ambience. Appropriate for kids and adults. We had a big party (8 people, 4 kids).

Made reservations in advance for New Years eve. Menu we were given was limited, grossly overpriced and totally different than the one listed. When I questioned the waitress about this we were told they will not list a special menu for only one night! Are you kidding me!!!? We were also told that if we did not show or left we would lose our deposit. Dinner was served without soup, salad, bread, or rolls, this would be an added charge we were told! Needless to say, this is the last time we will have dinner at Big Boulder Inn!!!

The spaghetti squash was the cold insides of a spaghetti squash topped with bread crumbs and walnuts. Added chicken and that too was cold. Not warm…cold. The salmon was so overcooked it needed to be cut with a knife. The asparagus was thread thin from being so overcooked and the potatoes were just salty mush.

Made reservations for four for New Years eve, menu posted online was not the one we were given. The menu we were given was limited and grossly overpriced!!! When I questioned the waitress about this we were told they will not list a special menu for only one night. Are you kidding me?!!! We also had to give a deposit of 10.00 per person and would lose this if we left or did not show up. Entrees were served without soup, salad, or bread or rolls,we will be charged extra for this we were told. Dinner was a total waste of money!!! Needless to say this is the last time we will be at Big Boulder Tavern!!!

Had dinner here with 7 family members to celebrate New Years Eve, they were offering a special menu with very limited options. 6 entree choices (one of those was a 12 oz strip steak and 6oz lobster tail for a ridiculous $90, another option was just vegetables), so essentially 4 worthwhile options. After most of us ordered and were looking forward to the MahiMahi dish, we were told they ran out and we had to pick something else...like really, 6 options available and you run out of one, smh. I asked for a manager who told me they could sub salmon, but not all of us like salmon, I asked if there any other options and they told first told me no, then checked with the chef and they could do 2 other items but we would have to pay more for them, so most of our group opted to just do the salmon with a honey glaze sauce. The dishes came out no more than 2 minutes later and the salmon was completely dry. After our group had consumed half of their meal, they brought out little cups of the honey glaze but it was ice cold. The Asst. Manager Sue had no empathy whatsoever and offered nothing to us as compensation except an apology. I asked for another manager and the GM Jennifer came over and apologized profusely, then discounted our meal and gave us free desserts, so clearly there was more that could have been done but Sue just didn't seem interested in taking care of us at all or helping to right a wrong situation. The only true great part of the night was our server Cerra - she was fabulous and helped ease our disappointment with her friendly cheerful attitude, prompt service, and courteous nature. Not sure if the food is better on a non-holiday, but if you're going to only offer a limited menu and have no backup options then at least be sure you have enough stock of those 6 items, or a better plan to compensate your patrons when the restaurant is at fault

Friendly service from start to finish. Server was awesome. Shrimp you peel special were some of the best we’ve had. Our dinners were very good cheesteak, chicken wrap, burgers. Ended the night listening to Timmy Fitz at bar. Awesome night will return again.

Don't go to this place. The prices are very expensive and small portions. I wasn't that full, when we left. Had a family get together there. The only good thing is the view of the lake. The dessert portion is just about bite size. Very disappointed there!!

We dined here for a weekend lunch and were really surprised with the number of diners seated in the Dining Room! Cindy was our server and she was friendly and efficient . We ordered their Chicken Caprese Sandwiches, a Steak Street Taco, and a 12 Bone-In Chicken Wings appetizer (served as a main entree). All were very good. I must say that we thought that the prices were a bit high, but there aren't many restaurants in this area so maybe they figure that they can charge higher prices because of that???
