Updated June 03, 2025, Our first impression was based on Sunday evening experience as a neighbor. But since then we decided to give them a try and were pleasantly impressed.
We were trying to rest at a quiet lakeside resort during a slow time Sunday night the week after Memorial Day. Then this band cranked it up so loud that it woke us up in our hotel room. Over 500 feet away measuring 85db, it was clearly above the safe listing level for anyone there, according to OSHA & NIOSH safe sound levels for humans. That killed the idea of us going there to try out their dinners that Sunday. If we can't hear the servers or each other's conversation, what's the point of going there for a romantic relaxing evening. Bad business decision hiring an arrogant band.
But, after a explanatory response from the owner that there is no music Monday evenings, we decided to give them a try. We are pleasantly impressed at their fare. Plenty of parking for this large venue. Are server was mildly attentive but needed to pay more attention to our requests. As stated in other reviews, this is the upscale restaurant of the area. Lovely table settings of real flowers. Excellent preparation and presentation of food. Very creative and delicious menu. I would come back to impress my guests, just not on a night with a band, unless I wanted to only hear a band and not my guest. We'll return next year for sure.
Unfortunately, the phone did not have time to eat first. The food was all devoured immediately. It was me and 5 buddies of mine just taking a trip for the weekend. We’ve been to Nick’s before, but forgot how incredible of a place it really is. Starting up to bat, Ms. Priscilla our waitress was an absolute sweetheart and went above and beyond for us.
Food wise; ordered a couple smash burgers, birria beef nachos, boneless garlic parm wings, Norwegian salmon with a peach (bruschetta I think) topping, and bbq ribs. Everyone tried a little bit of something and it was absolutely incredible. Nachos better than most Mexican places I’ve been too with a killer spiced up guacamole on the side, salmon cooked and seasoned to perfection with the peach topping bringing out a perfect balance of sweet and savory, incredible burgers making one of us say they just wanted another, wings crispy and sauced to perfection, and ribs better than most bbq joints in Philadelphia and surrounding area with a perfect sweet bbq (it must have had bourbon) sauce that the meat just fell off the bone. (passing out a rib was a struggle because of this)
Finally, the thing that stood out the most is the speed and efficiency of all of the service, one of us in the group is allergic to onions and requested the burger be without, accidentally came out with, and they had another burger out within 5 minutes (yes, that fast) and he still ate with the rest of the group in that time mind you with a full house and crazy busy evening.
Overall amazing spot by the lake to have some incredible food, hear some great live music and great drinks that they give you the money’s worth.
Birria burger was pretty good but chips were from a bag, literally. My friend’s salmon dinner looked really good, and from the sight of her cleaned plate, it must have been good. The ricotta dip tasted as good as it sounded when reading it off of the menu! The sunset over the lake was beautiful. Overall, a pretty neat place with great views and good food. Fresh cut fries or house made chips would have secured a 5-star rating from me.
This place is rotten old. Carpets are glued to the floor. They lost their color and shape, tables chairs, utensils all from 50 years ago. The owners must really love keeping their hands in their pockets instead of spending it a bit on looks.
But just when you thought that was the worse thing, it gets even more worse, Margharita pizza was terrible, all garlic and frozen style pizza, ordered pasta with minimal butter for my daughter even that came out wrong with 1lb of butter.
Spicy margherita was so bad I couldn’t do more than two sips, we brought this on the servers attention but manager was 86 to even come apologize, we had no expectation of discount or comp meal, it was just a feedback.
This place is so lucky there is no completion in the nearby area, or else they would not last 6 months, they are just relying on the view which is nothing but dead fishes and loud rock music.
Skip this spot on your next visit.
There were 6 of us roughly 6pm Sunday of Memorial weekend May 25 2025 and our server with an attitude was Danya. I ordered diet soda, clam chowder and the cola bbq burger. Others ordered pizzas, cheesesteaks and clams. We all ordered however not all of us received the soup and for those of us that received our soup it was luke warm at best.
Maybe it was our fault for not specifying but all of our food… cold soup and clams and burger and cheesesteaks and pizzas… came out at the same time which by the way made our luke warm soup even colder.
When I mentioned to Danya that maybe next time she should let the kitchen know that not all the food… apps and dinner… should come out at the same time she snapped back at me that they were very busy and that she had been there since 10am and she was tired. After that Danya did a disappearing act. In defense of Danya she did take all of the soups off our bills (3) which was very nice of her but poor thing is obviously overworked and very tired.
Our meals were good, not great but I really don’t know if I/we will be back.
Sweet potato hummus and wedge salad were great! The dining room looks out over the lake, but it was very loud. One person in our party didn’t get his food until the rest of us were almost finished and the server missed bringing out his soup as well. She didn’t come back to check on us or refill our drinks until we were finished eating. Maybe they were just understaffed.
This place has a lot of potential. It was super hot in there and the deck was not open although the weather was nice. It stated 78 degrees we were so hot. Food was mid. The waitress was rude as heck so we gave her 15 instead of the intended 65 dollar tip. The drinks were okay.
Ordered the crispy bacon wrapped meatloaf. The meatloaf was absolutely microwaved had multiple very cold spots in it and the bacon was the most rubbery thing I have ever seen. Sent it back and would not accept anything else from the kitchen. Wife had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was so over cooked it was horrible. Will not return. Worst part is we were discussing it with another local and were told “ yup par for the course nicks sucks we just go for drinks” should have known when it was Friday at 7pm and the staff was bored and maybe 6 people in the whole place.
Beautiful! Lake front delicious food great service pear salad with chicken was delicious
Quick and friendly service, cozy atmosphere right on the lake.
Burger was out of this world!
Pizza was 10/10 perfect!

Burgers were ok. Drinks were ok. Salmon was great. Apple pear salad was great.
Mozzarella sticks serviced frozen, smash burger was raw (not pink...cold and fall apart raw), ribs and fries cold to touch. Service was friendly but inattentive.
I had terrible food poisoning after eating dinner here last night. It really sucked because I was camping hours from home and we had to pack up while I threw up in the woods then drive in the middle of the night. My boyfriend and I shared breakfast and lunch, and he was fine. The only thing we didn’t share were separate dinners at Nick’s. The food tasted alright, I wouldn’t complain about it if I didn’t get sick.
The view of the lake is beautiful, but only if you by chance get seated by it. Otherwise, if you’re like us you just get seated in the middle of a mediocre restaurant. There were a LOT of servers with nothing to do just sitting at tables on their phones which I thought was odd. Our server was okay. Didn’t check on us for refills or anything but just normal 2-3 star service.
I visited this spot twice during my stay in the Poconos, and I really enjoyed the food—fresh and full of flavor. What really stood out to me was the customer service, particularly from the bartender. I didn’t catch her name, but she made me a delicious custom drink and was incredibly sweet. I actually left my credit card behind, and she ran out to my car to make sure I got it back. That alone would make me come back, but the food sealed it. We ordered a bunch of things, but the standouts were definitely the mussels, garlic parm wings, and the honey hot pepperoni pizza. I’d 100% return.
Vegetarians rejoice! The impossible burger here is reasonably priced and positively delicious (I had the mushroom Swiss with truffle aioli.) My boyfriend said the beef cheesesteak was the best he’d had in a long time. Priscilla, our server, had such a warm and friendly personality and gave a lot of detail when we asked questions about menu items. She definitely stood out as the best server we’ve had in years. All in all - very impressive. We will absolutely be back.
