I reserved a couple months prior and it didn't say anywhere the water park was closed except 2 things. That's the main reason we went. If you get a room with a kitchenette, they provide nothing. Except I called a couple days prior and they told me they do. There is no lifeguard for the pool and no one there to follow through with the rules. We had little time for the pool thanks to other guests. There are not enough trolleys for guests for luggage and with kids it's highly necessary. It wasn't worth what I paid for.. I am not coming back.
These deals are because the hotel is garbage!! We had a terrible experience along with another family we invited to join us who had a worse experience followed by many other families experiences that we met in the lobby that forced us all to leave early. We booked our trip in December and asked to have our two parties near each there and were told that had to be done closer to check in and were never notified that there was a winter special happening with water park tickets (which is a crazy promotion to run with a hardly operating water park) nor were we notified that the water park which we were going there for was having heating issues, 80% of the rides were closed and the water was freezing cold. We even called two days before check in to see if the two parties (a total of 4 adults and 8 kids) could have rooms near each other. We were told we need to ask at check in and nothing was mentioned about the waterpark issues. Our stays were booked at the rate that would allow for us to reschedule our stay if necessary. Had we known about the issues we would have considered that or planned activities off site into our schedule. Not being informed was extremely frustrating as we went to celebrate a birthday and had 8 very disappointed kids. Upon arrival we were told that the parties could not be placed near each other nor placed on the same floor. We were given our room cards and sent on our way (not being told anything about the waterpark having issues). We came back from dinner at 7:20pm to enjoy Karaoke with our group of 12 while another couple was singing and told karaoke was done and he was moving on to the next activity. the couple singing and us were all very upset but moved on. The next morning we were told by other hotel guests the water park was mostly closed and freezing so two of our adults went to check it out and and decided spending the $35 pp for 12 was not worth it so we went to the hotel pool. It was FREEZING, the kiddie pool was empty and the hot tub was lukewarm and filled with other children so we let our kids join them about 1.5 hours into us being in the pool area with NO LIFE GUARD or staff member. We were told we needed to leave and the hottub was for 18+. We went to the front desk frustrated just to be met by a rude manger and 4 other families who had frustrations with the food (mold) tub water (coming out brown from faucet) microwave (shocking them and catching food on fire) denied complimentary breakfast, waterpark issues, pool issues, no heat in hotel room with an infant, falling in driveway along with other issues. We were there for less than 24 hours and asked to check out early and asked for a full refund. The rude manager (blonde women with glasses around 60 give or take who would not give her name and was not wearing a name tag) disclosed she was not responsible for our first night but will let us check out even though she wasn’t on duty till 3 pm (it was about 12:15-12:30) she was disrespectful, disgusted, aggressive and nasty in responses to our issues and walked away while 4 families were asking to be checked out early, refunded or moved to other locations and denied. We feel we should have been fully refunded since we were there less than 24 hours unable to enjoy any actives, the pool or the waterpark we spend time in the arcade which was the only thing suitable for the age group of our kids and the bowling alley was filled. We spend over $300 just in the arcade which we could not even cash out our cards due to no staffing in the prize section.
We had visited twice years before. We had tried the water park which was great. We ventured this last week and decided to stay in their facilities. The room was nice, however the whole reason we visited was their water park. The water was literally freezing. My toddlers were so dissapointed, we tried their indoor pool same thing. We thought it was a one day issue. It wasn't. Nelly Sanchez their GM responded all my emails till I asked for a refund. No refund was issued, and I am still waiting for my "incidentals" deposit back. Such a waste of a place with such potential. I ended up visiting the Great Wolf lodge water park. My family and I will be going there from now on. Avoid the Split Rock unless all you want is overpriced hotel rooms with zero ammenities.
A few years ago I had already visited this place!
And my children wanted to come again but it's nice, they have a lot of things to distract themselves but the service at the front desk is not that good.
Room had bugs in lights bugs in corners of bathroom floor. Pools both indoor and outdoor are dirty no pool towels available. Fitness center had zero cleaning towels, dirty floors, and broken equipmen
Horrible customer service. Checked in Saturday after waiting hours for a room. After finally getting to our room we had no air conditioning. All the facilities are DIRTY! I kept calling about the air conditioning, could not even get through to the front desk.
Horrendous customer service from the front desk agents to the security and management. Entire place has mildew and mold, most things in water park don’t work. Spa jets in the pool area were broken. Checked in at 2:30 and still didn’t have a room at 8pm. Asked to speak to the manager Kelly along with a bunch of other guests and she didn’t show her face once. Wondering who security is Thomas or his jealous wife that works behind the desk that came charging out asking me not to stand so close to her husband when him and I were conversing about not having a room more than 5 hours after check in. I ended up canceling through a third party booking site and leaving. You’ll be sure to walk out with an infection and feeling dirty.
I would never recommend anyone stay here. I worked here and have seen so much things that are just crazy to me. They don’t want to spend any money so everything is just falling apart and it’s disgusting. I had to call the food health inspector it was so bad. I can’t even blame the staff because they are all going through the wringer with this company but they also didn’t help. They were all a**holes. I had a check held from me for 5 weeks until my lawyer contacted them and I’m still waiting for it to cash. Don’t waste your money especially with the water park and pool you’ll probably end up getting sick or something.
Worst place ever I when this weekend and they had a problem with my room then they gave me another room that had ants microwave didnt work the tv didn't work i was move to another room it was bad too so o spent my money on it to stay stuck in room I didn't book and my kids and I couldn't do anything I was out of there by 8 am the next day.
Low-key description should be replaced with low quality and even worse service. We booked a holiday stay with a package that states on reservation water park and breakfast included during stay. When you arrive they will state it’s only for certain days and one or the other. When asked to show you the terms and conditions where that is stated, they will provide you their website which does describe the available dates but says nowhere that it is one or the other. The front desk woman attempted to say it’s right there but in fact, I can read and said no it’s not listed anywhere here so show me where you see that and she stated that’s just how it is. If you can get past that poor service and predatory tactic to get you to book here, then you’ll be disappointed to find a room with no built in air conditioning, windows that don’t lock or have screens even on the ground floor. We were highly concerned regarding the safety of our room considering anyone could just slide the window open and come right in. Our AC was provided by a non permanent unit that wasn’t even attached to the window when we arrived. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! There are two other kid water park hotels not far off and they provide much better and safer experiences.

Closed the pool and waterpark early two days in a row for a private party. Huge senior trip at the hotel and kids just drinking and being inappropriate all over the hotel. Place is dated, smells musty, breakfast buffet is awful and the hotel is just flat out run down. Stay anywhere else!
Great staff, nice place to grab a drink and watch a game. Paul is the best.

I went to split rock as a young kid, teenager and now have come back as a parent. It’s in terrible condition. Very run down. Breakfast buffet is all frozen food and we paid $70 for 2 kids and 2 adults. Terrible. Bowling alley is gross like it’s never cleaned. Never a new movie anymore. All old reruns. Arcade, half the games weren’t on or working. It smells. No more ice cream parlor. Chicken fingers is $16. 6 wings is $14. Soda at the bar was flat. Tried to do a small getaway with my family and am sad I wasted the money on something we want to do anything else but be on the premises to do because there are no options. Spend the extra $ and go somewhere worth it. I wish I could get my money back and leave.
Who would've thought a hotel could have its own bowling alley and arcade? Split Rock is not your average joint! We spent hours knocking down pins and playing classic arcade games. It's like stepping back in time, and it's a blast. The rooms are always fresh and tidy. It's like coming back to a sanctuary after a day of fun. You can relax and unwind without a worry in the world. I've gotta give a big shoutout to the staff here. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. It's like being with family. Their genuine hospitality made our stay unforgettable. The rooms are comfy, and the staff is as friendly as can be. It's a guaranteed good time, and I can't wait to return!
Split Rock is surrounded by natural beauty. The nearby forests and lake are breathtaking, and you can take a leisurely walk on the trails or rent a boat to explore the lake. Foodies, rejoice! Split Rock has some seriously delicious options. From juicy burgers to tasty tacos, they've got it all. And the bars? Oh yeah, they mix up some mean cocktails. The food and drinks alone are reason enough to come back. We'll be back for sure!
