This is an FYI : Mount Pepper is now called Yi Pin. Same location, same building just the name has changed. Sorry, I have never dined at this location, however I hear the food is good. I am mainly reviewing the name change.
so far, not as good, as the former owners, but by far the best real chinese food in the area. good dumplings and a large varied menu.
I think this place is out of business. What a shame it had the best Chinese food in Lancaster. I have been buying two times and it was not open in the last two weeks I have been there two times and it was not open in the last two weeks
Went with family and they were very accommodating to all even toddlers. Food was delicious!! Best Chinese food in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
I'm a bit conflicted about this place, because the food is amazing, but I question how clean the kitchen is?? Last time we were there the dishes looked a little grimy and there were particles floating in the water pitcher... Wish I could eat here again, but no.
Ughhhhhh There was a bug in our food...
The food was delicious and well prepared. The staff was very helpful and gracious. It's sad that's it's kind of hidden and hard to see.I'll definitely be returning.
Good place if you're looking for traditional Chinese food, not beef and broccoli or General Tso's. Mount Pepper offers Sichuan style food. This providence of central China is known for its pepper that it's so named after. Not all dishes are spicy, but a good number are. They give you a pepper scale next to the dish so you know what you're getting yourself into. The food ordered there on every occasion was very flavorful and cooked well. Waiting times for your dish can take a while, but you have a cozy, small place to enjoy the company of someone. Prices are on the high side.
The first time we ate here the food was good but they chased us outside not not tipping 15% on the card when we clearly had left cash on the side. It was really humiliating and poor customer service but we gave it a second chance and ordered a noodle for carry out the 2nd time and guess what I find; a bug yuck!! Just disgusting. Never going back
H O T food. My plate came with at least 50 dried, inedible peppers mixed in to the dish. It was the double cooked pork. Unsure why they would ruin a dish that way. Wouldn't order it again. Mixed vegetables dish was good. Their card reader wouldn't take my debit card (the only place EVER to do that) but it had no issue taking my credit card.

This is NOT your every day Chinese restaurant. This is AUTHENTIC and home style foods that are served "hot", literally! Variety of delectable dishes to choose from and feels like a home cooked meal every time!
I love this place so much. I eat here for lunch quite often, the lunch specials are a great deal. Best kung pao chicken ive ever had, great egg drop soup. People are nice, high quality food.
a very tasty experience.
Don't listen to any reviews saying it's too hot, they don't know what Sichuan food is. This was amazing and now that I discovered this hole in the wall, I don't need to drive to Philly when I get the craving.
Fantastic food again for our second visit, we'll be back!
