I've been coming here consistently since 2024 and the quality has always been at the highest standard. The service is amazing and all the employees treat you with so much respect. *** The R5 Breakfast Sandwich is genuinely the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had in my life. I cannot recommend it enough, and it gave me an out of this world experience ***.

I have been here a lot since I moved to the area in 2020. I love their single origin coffees, and when I visit I usually get a delicious breakfast sandwich. A couple of things let the place down, but not enough to give fewer than 5 stars. These are all from my point of view as someone who drinks black coffee: firstly, the new espresso blend (bandwidth 2.0) is obviously catered more towards milk drinks than the old one, and it would be great to see a single origin espresso option on the menu. Next, the filter coffee isn't always brewed with a lot of attention to detail/care so often has harsh, bitter notes even when ordering the lighter roast (again a rotating single origin option would be amazing!). Lastly the atmosphere during the week is not great. The place is full of people working on laptops. Not the owners' issue, but it also affects the parking lot which is always full as a result of this, so popping in to buy beans usually entails a few minutes of finding parking.
2026 update: Over the last year, possibly two years or so, I and a friend have noticed that the single origin coffees have become more one-note. It would seem that they are roasting for consistency, and as a result origin flavors are less prominent. As a result, I've dropped my review to 4 stars. Backyard Beans used to be my go-to recommendation for coffee locally, but nowadays I have to caveat that recommendation.

We’ve lived in Lansdale for almost 4 years now and finally just got around to trying out Backyard Beans and my only regret is not having come here sooner!! We got hot chocolates for our kids and they made them the perfect temperature for kids to drink right away, which was stellar in and of itself! The woman that took our order was so sweet with the kids when giving the their cookies, which were also delicious, she was so sweet. The latte and coffee me and my husband got were delicious and the breakfast sandwich!? Don’t even get me started on how delicious that was!!! If you’re in the neighborhood or passing by, this place is 100% worth a stop! We can’t wait to go back!

It's my local shop and it's always great to be there. I admit that I mainly go there to buy coffee beans. Quality. The times I've actually sat down it's usually for breakfast or a pastry with espresso since I don't have the ability at home. Staff is excellent and welcoming. It can get crowded weekends but that should tell you something.

Pleasantly surprised. Wonderful atmosphere for remote work while I was waiting for car maintenance. Ordered salmon avocado toast. It was the cost of a sandwich, but the size and ingredient quality were worth it

I’m not often in Landsdale which is a shame cuz would love to be a regular here. Enjoyed the honey lavender latte a few years ago and had a yummy chai latte this time round. Not too sweet with the right amount of spices. Also picked up a bag of the Punch In the Face dark roast. Definitely lives up to its name.
Great vibe inside, the hexagon coffee bar is so different and pleasant to look at. Staff are nice and patient. My drink was excellent. I will try to not to be away as long for next time.

Just a nice, charming local coffee shop. I don’t need anything more than that to be happy. Their chocolate chip cookies are among the best I’ve had.

The bear hug latte was amazing. Not too sweet and terrific flavor on the beans. The maple cornbread was a great savory/sweet mix for a snack. Staff was also friendly and cafe was spacious with great seating.

The Americano I ordered was perfect. The staff was very friendly. As I sat at the window stool I overheard a Barista pleasantly and patiently explaining the differences in coffee drinks to a customer with a question.
I did not order any food items, but I will in future visits.
