The butter cake was definitely the highlight of our visit — rich, flavorful, and perfectly done. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was underwhelming and fairly average. What truly sealed our decision not to return, though, was an encounter with the owner or head chef (presumably Sophia). She came out, looked us up and down without a word, and walked away. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. Based on that experience, we won’t be coming back.

Me and my wife had dinner at Sophusion tonight and we were very pleased. The wait staff were attentive, courteous and professional. The food was excellent! Oxtail dumplings, crab fried rice, asparagus, lobster mac, the hen and lamb chops are must orders. The sauce reduction is on another level. If you want fine dining close to home Sophusion is the place to be. Will definitely come back!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at this fabulous Black-owned restaurant in Lansdowne, PA, and let me tell you — it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish.
From the moment we walked in, the warmth and hospitality were unmatched. The owner, Sophia, came out to greet us personally, which made us feel so welcomed and valued. Our server, kailey and Crystal, was an absolute sweetheart — attentive, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She gave us amazing recommendations, and every dish she suggested was a hit.
We initially came in for brunch, and everything was chef’s kiss! We had the French toast, scrambled eggs, and some of the tastiest mocktails I’ve ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. But the food was so good, we couldn’t help ourselves — we came back for dinner the same day!
For dinner, my mother ordered the red snapper, my sister had the lamb chops, and I got the sea bass. Every single bite was packed with flavor, seasoned to perfection, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. It honestly tasted like somebody’s grandma or mama was back there cooking with love and soul.
I left completely satisfied, speechless, and already planning my next visit. The food was 10 out of 10, the service was exceptional, and the entire experience felt like home. If you’re anywhere near Lansdowne, do yourself a favor and go — this place is a culinary gem you’ll never forget.

It was VERY last minute. My family didn't have a location to celebrate my grandmother's home going celebration. Sophusion came through BIG time. We made last minute reservations for about 25. The food was outstanding, beautiful atmosphere. The two servers were awesome.
It was my first time there for brunch...VERY well worth it. Glad that we decided on this location. My grandma would be proud.

A Disappointing Brunch Experience!
I've been eager to try Sophusion for a while, as the food photos online looked fantastic. My wife and I decided to give it a shot for brunch.
While we were seated on time, our dining experience quickly took a turn. The delay in food service, especially for the kids, was quite frustrating. The main course, a steak and eggs brunch dish, was poorly executed: the steak was undercooked, and the eggs, despite our request for over-easy, arrived over-well. Our daughter's meal arrived last, leaving her visibly upset. To add insult to injury, we discovered a sneaky 15% gratuity fee that wasn't disclosed on the menu. This unprofessional practice left a sour taste, even though I voluntarily tipped an additional 7%.
Ultimately, our brunch at Sophusion was a disappointment. I'll stick to a local diner for a more reliable and transparent dining experience.

Attended a dinner to celebrate a marriage. Food was absolutely the best, serving staff efficient, professional, and pleasant. Each place setting was nicely appointed with all linen and name cards. Highly recommended!

Hidden gem! This place definitely has some of the best food I’ve ever tasted in Philly! We literally ordered food to go as well, because the food was so delicious. However, the service could’ve been better. We came probably a little over an hour behind they closed. It was on my birthday. They gave us champagne and that was the sweetest thing! However, we only saw our waitress when she took our order and then again when she dropped the bill off. She didn’t check to see if we needed anything, nor did she even ask if we enjoyed our food. There literally was only one other table there. We came in when a big party was leaving. If our waitress was slightly attentive to us, I’d definitely given this 5 ⭐️! .
